To control the spread of COVID-19, it is important to identify the infection in its incipient stages so that the infected persons can be dealt with accordingly. The currently used face to face sampling method may increase the risk of infection for medical professionals as it exposes them to the asymptomatic yet infectious patients. This can result in further increases in the load on the medical system and workload of the medical staff. As a solution to this problem, in this paper, we present a robotic system for rapid non-face-to-face automatic nasopharyngeal swab sample collection. The system consists of a custom designed 7-DoF manipulator equipped with a specially developed safety mechanism for restricting the maximum force applied by the tip of the swab. During the swab sampling process, the force applied by the tip of the swab is continuously monitored in real-time by a 3-axis force sensor in order to detect contact with the nasopharynx. The possibility of using this system for automaticnasopharyngeal swab sample collection is proven through experimentation with a phantom model.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects on skin temperature, pain, muscle tone, and ROM after applying the massage robot "PIRO-ZERO" to 6 men and 4 women in their 20s who complained of non-specific pain in the shoulder or back for more than 12 weeks. As a result of the study, there was a significant increase in skin temperature not only in the area where the massage was applied, but also on the opposite side and throughout the body due to increased blood flow. Pain in the upper trapezius, rhomboid, and erector spinae muscle was decreased, and muscle tone in the erector spinae muscles was significantly decreased. There was a significant increase in ROM of neck and trunk flexion, which is thought to be because the massage reduced muscle tone around the spine, increasing flexibility. In the future, as the safety and effectiveness of massage robots are further verified and the pressure, speed, and path become more diverse, satisfaction is expected to increase.
In this work, position and vibratiion control of a two-link manipulator with one flexible link, which an unkoun but bounded payload mass and two pair of artificial muscle-type penumatic actuators, are investgated. A flexible link robot has advantages over a figid link robot in the sense that it is much safer when it cones into contact with its environment, including humans. Furthermore, for the sake of safety, it would be more desirabel if an actuator could deliver required force while maintaining proper compliance. An artificial muscle-type penumatic actuator is adequate for such cases. In this study, a controller based on singular perturbation method, adaptive and sliding mode contro, and .mu.-synthesis is developed. The effectiveness of the proposed control scheme is confirmed through simulations and experiments.
In this paper, we propose a new collision detection algorithm for human-robot collaboration. We use an IMU sensor located at the tip of the manipulator and the kinematic behavior of the manipulator to detect the unexpected collision between the robotic manipulator and environment. Unlike other method, the developed algorithm uses only the kinematic relationship between the manipulator joint and the end effector. Therefore, the collision estimation signal is not affected by the error of the dynamics model. The proposed collision detection algorithm detects the collision by comparing the estimated acceleration of the end effector derived from the position, velocity and acceleration trajectories of the robot joints with the actual acceleration measured by the sensor. In simulation, we compare the performance of our method with the conventional Residual Observer (ROB). Our method is less sensitive to the load variation because of the independency on the dynamic modeling of the manipulator.

The force distribution in multi-legged robots is a constrained, optimization problem. The solution to the problem is the set points of the leg contact forces for a particular system task. In this paper, an efficient and general formulation of the force distribution problem is developed using linear programming. The considered walking robot is a quadruped robot with a locked-joint failure, i.e., a joint of the failed leg is locked at a known place. For overcoming the drawback of marginal stability in fault-tolerant gaits, we define safety margin on friction constraints as the objective function to be maximized. Dynamic features of locked-joint failure are represented by equality and inequality constraints of linear programming. Unlike the former study, our result can be applied to various forms of walking such as crab and turning gaits. Simulation results show the validity of the proposed scheme.
An off-line programming, OLP, system is widely used in automation fines. To help an on-line robot system to carry out desirable tasks planned by the off-line simulation, an approach to the real-time communication is presented. The OLP system developed consists of a software, a host computer(PC), a SCARA robot body, four servo drivers, and four independent joint controllers. This study focuses on the software where real-time communication is included. The software, can be used in teaching, trajectory planning, real-time running, and performance evaluation. The evaluation of different control algorithms is one of the merits of the software. The software can give servo commands for task running. A comparison of generated and corresponding actual trajectories provides the evaluation of task performance. The safety, of the OLP system is ensured by alarming malfuntions of the system. The OLP system developed can reduce the teaching time and increase the user's convenience.

Recently, the number of high-rise buildings has been on the rise, which has meant that maintenance cost has increased by two and three times, along with the increase in the construction cost. It is suggested that the use of an auto-cleaning robot could increase the productivity and safety of cleaning work, which is mostly done outside of a building. In particular, the guide rail on a high-rise building could be useful in this capacity, as it has the advantage of not being significantly influenced by factors of the external environment, including wind pressure. For this reason, this research is preliminary research into a cleaning automation for a high-rise building, and aims to draw up a scenario for the vertically moving robot.

Now, but task for stringing trolley wire is worked manually by a measurement of dip, we need to development the automatic control system for a safety and effective tasks. In this paper, in works of stringing trolley wire by a mobile of robot, a method is proposed tension control for the stringing trolley wire. On the basics of a wire model with hard nonlinear, ac servo motor model for torque generating and stringing wire tension, the tension control scheme is design and implemented with a detected wire tension by a load cell. We experimentally show that the performance of the tension response are satisfactory to regulator tension. The proposed system is simulated and experimented, results is verified the utilities.

This paper proposes a novel fuzzy-based multi-criteria decision making method and implements a footstep planner for humanoid robots with it. Humanoid robots require additional footstep planning process in addition to path planning for the autonomous navigation. Moreover, it is necessary to consider safety and energy consumption as well as path efficiency and multi-criteria decision making is indispensable. The proposed method can provide not only well- distributed and non-dominated, but also more preferable solutions for users. The planned footsteps by the proposed method were verified through simulation. The results indicate that the user's preference is properly reflected in optimized solutions maintaining solution quality.

This paper proposes a collision avoidance algorithm for two mobile robots with independent goals in a same workspace. Using skeleton map, an environment is presented as a graph consisting of nodes and arcs. Robots generate the shortest set of paths using the combination of objective functions of the two robots. Path for collision avoidance of a robot can be selected among three class; the shortest path, detour, paths with a waiting time at safety points around crossing points. Simulation results are presented to verify the efficiency of the proposed algorithms.
