  • As endangered species are gradually increasing due to land development by humans, it is essential to secure sufficient protected areas (PAs) proactively. Therefore, this study checked priority conservation areas to select candidate PAs when considering the impact of land development. We determined the conservation priorities by analyzing four scenarios based on existing conservation areas and reflecting the development impact using MARXAN, the decision-making support software for the conservation plan. The development impact was derived using the developed area ratio, population density, road network system, and traffic volume. The conservation areas of endangered species were derived using the data of the appearance points of birds, mammals, and herptiles from the 3rd National Ecosystem Survey. These two factors were used as input data to map conservation priority areas with the machine learning-based optimization methodology. The result identified many non-PAs areas that were expected to play an important role conserving endangered species. When considering the land development impact, it was found that the areas with priority for conservation were fragmented. Even when both the development impact and existing PAs were considered, the priority was higher in areas from the current PAs because many road developments had already been completed around the current PAs. Therefore, it is necessary to consider areas other than the current PAs to protect endangered species and seek alternative measures to fragmented conservation priority areas.

  • The all revision of the Road Name Address Act, which contains the contents to be used by expanding the road name address as a means of indicationg the location, has been resloved by the National Assembly. Addresses will be assigned to large-sized facilities (3D mixed-use complex spaces). Here, the 3D (Three-dimensional) address is assigned an indoor path section in the inner passage, dividing the section at intervals. The 3D address will be built on the address information map. For 3D address, data should be built and managed for a 3D complex space(indoor space). Therefore, in this study, the object of the 3D address is defined based on the address conceptual model defined in the international standard, and the 3D address data model is proposed based on IndoorGML. To this, it is proposed as a method of mapping the Core and Navigation module of IndoorGML so that the entity of the 3D address can be expressed in IndoorGML. This study has a limitation in designing a 3D address data model only, but it is meaningful that it suggested a standard for constructing 3D address data in the future.

  • The purpose of this study is to conduct an analysis for classification of unexecuted urban planning facilities using the Geographic Information System(GIS) to prepare measures for systematic and efficient management of unexecuted urban planning facilities and to find ways to establish national territory information for continuous management and operation by database of spatial data of classified unexecuted urban planning facilities. For this purpose, the present state of urban management plan, thematic map, cadastral map, satellite image of Korea Land Information System(KLIS) were collected from Miryang City, and qualitative analysis of the execution and non-execution of urban planning facilities was conducted by combining the layer of urban planning facilities, satellite images, and continuous cadastral layers of cadastral maps with classified and processed owner attribute information. According to the analysis, the unexecuted facilities were derived as unexecuted facilities, as most of the private land, without any current status roads or facilities created in satellite imagery. In addition, although the current status road was opened, the facilities that included some private land were derived as facilities that were recognized and executed by the local government as the de facto controlling entity through public transportation. The derived unexecuted urban planning facilities were divided into layers of shape data and the unexecuted property data were organized to quickly and accurately identify the status of non-executed and statistical information. In this study, we proposed an analysis plan that introduced GIS technology for scientific and rational analysis of unexecuted urban planning facilities and the establishment of reliable spatial data, and proposed a plan to establish a database for connection with existing systems and use of information.

  • Public transportation is public service that is contributed to the convenience of the public. However, opportunity for public services in rural areas is weaker than the chance in urban areas. The purpose of this study is to evaluate accessibility of various public facilities using public transportation. To evaluate the accessibility, we calculate the various time from community center to the nearest bus stop, walking time, riding time in bus, and waiting time for transfer. The results of this study ares as follows; (1) Villages occupy 19.8% in rural areas that walking time from community center to the nearest bus stop takes over 10 minutes in integrated Chungju-si; (2) The average speed is 21.9 km/hr estimated to departure and arrival time of bus route; (3) The accessibility time from community center using the average bus speed takes 15.43 minutes to public facilities, 35.15 minutes to emergency center, 8.70 minutes to medical center, 9.70 minutes to elementary school, 16.26 minutes to middle school, and 22.61 minutes high school; (4) The transfer time of public transportation takes 13.46, 21.96, 10.48, 7.78, 11.11, 16.10 minutes to public facilities, emergency center, medical center, elementary school, middle school, and high school, respectively; (4) Traffic accessibility using bus vehicles in the East and South Chungju-si is lower than areas in the West and North Chungju-si. Some villages surrounding public offices (eup-myeon office) which have a high density of population, indicate a high traffic accessibility.

  • The author argues that the current Government Information System for river water quality appears to be non-user friendly due to lack of the cartographic representation for the field monitoring data. Acknowledging these constraints, an operational, user-friendly information system has been developed by combining Internet technology with GIS. A digital map for water quality has been generated by overlaying monitoring data on existing cartographic data such as road, topography and administrative boundary etc. A user interface was designed to address the need to querry the large spatial databases by non-GIS and non-environmental experts. The system has been checked experimentally and enabled the users to querry data required simply. And detailed visual maps for water quality can be generated over large areas quickly and easily. A visual mapping system for water quality was developed by reframing the monitoring data as graphic symbols and it was ideally suited to exploring area-wide water quality at a user-friendly manner due to extensibility and scalability along the various survey points. This system based on Web GIS could be accessed anywhere if internet is available. It would play a crucial role in improving the quality of public information service if it is operationally introduced into the Government since the highly user-friendly interface provides a completely new means for disseminating information far water pollution in a visual and interactive manner to the general public.

  • In this study, an evaluation method was proposed to determine the restoration section in the riverine ecobelt project. The target river for this study is the Hongcheon river in Kangwon-do. The Hongcheon river of 96 km was divided longitudinally into subsections of 2 km. The analysis through map and aerial photograph as well as field surveys were performed in 48-sub-sections. The fragmentation items were classified into connectivity and ecological functionality. The connectivity fragmentation was also divided into two items: the area discontinuity of the land use and the line discontinuity of river bank and road. Also, the ecological functional fragmentation was evaluated by using the items of river channel, river bed, vegetation, and the obstruction of river flow. These items was modified from those in the previous literature. From map analyses and field surveys, the fragmentation score was kept with each items in 48 sub-sections of Hongcheon river. The fragmentation rate was made from the total score in each section. The results showed that sections from F1 to G2 was evaluated to have high rates of all connectivity and functionality fragmentation of 1st or 2nd rate. Other sections have high connectivity fragmentation of 2nd rate, but low functional fragmentation. Thus, these sections are evaluated to be excludible in restoration site. This study seems to make a contribution to evaluate the fragmented sections for the riverine ecobelt project.

  • Technology roadmaps (TRMs) are considered to be the essential tool for strategic technology planning and management. Recently, rapidly evolving technological trends and severe technological competition are making TRM more important than ever before. That is because TRM plays a role of "map" that align organizational objectives with their relevant technologies. However, constructing and managing TRMs are costly and time-consuming because they rely on the qualitative and intuitive knowledge of human experts. Therefore, enhancing the productivity of developing TRMs is one of the major concerns in technology planning. In this regard, this paper proposes a technology roadmapping approach based on function of which concept includes objectives, structures and effects of a technology and which are represented as Subject-Action-Object structures extractable by exploiting natural language processing of patent text. We expect that the proposed method will broaden experts' technological horizons in the technology planning process and will help to construct TRMs efficiently with the reduced time and costs.

  • This thesis aims to study Change of the Land Use in Yanji city since the reformation and opening of China in the Connection with Urbanization Process. This study is based on Landsat image and maps and data related to topography, urban planning basic, the cadastral map were employed. Softwares such as Arcview3.3, ArcGis8.0 were used. The result of the research is as follows. It clearly appears that there have decreased in the ratio of agricultural areas since the increase in other urban usage of land. There has greatly increased in residential, commercial and industrial areas. Such as the capitalist and market economic city the highest point of city land price emerged in downtown of the old city center. In addition spatial pattern of land price is unusually quite different from the western city in its pattern of land price surface declining tendency between the highest land price and the lowest land price. The land price surface shows irregular patterns with increase of distance from downtown due to various urban developments. According to the land price distribution map, it is possible to guess spatial development of the city that the north-eastern part of Yanji was developed prior to south-western area. The center of the city, or downtown expanded to eastward, and the city expanded to south-westward out skirt. Along the main road, Xin-xing areas developed toward east and west ward.

  • Urban expansion has caused environmental problems, traffic jam and real estate. Trend analysis of Urban expansion is needed for analysis and prediction of the existing problem-solving, urban planning and land use. In this study, We constructed database based on MOE(Minister of environment)'s landcover(1980's, 2000's), 1: 25,000 digital topographical map using of DEM and data of the National Statistical Office for urban and build up expand analysis of South Korea. As a result, The rate of increase in population of Gyeonggi-do, Incheon and Ulsan are high but Jeollanam-do is low. Area of development zone was 2.15 fold increase in comparison with before it. Slope aspect is south or east and urban expansion was increase in district such as Chungcheongnam-do, Gyeonggi-do, Jeollanam-do. Existing road of accessibility was high than development zone. Metropolitan city developre it. In conclusion, we found that South Korea urban expansion was developed from metropolitan city. In natural topographical conditions, the development was progress advantageous zone to disadvantageous zone. Also, we found that population was rapidly increase with new development as the center zone in urban expansion zone.

  • Because of abnormal weather, a heavy snow on the Northern latitudes occurs frequently. This has resulted in significant damage and recovery costs. In korea, it has been declared a special disaster area due to heavy snowfall in Gangneung and Pohang 2004, 2005 and 2011, so there was a revision of action instruction for the road snow removal. Although, in our current system, snow removing methodology, regional equipment holdings, and snow responsible interval, respectively, has been classified by the National Highway, near cities and provinces support system not yet prepared. Only, if snow removing is not possible within the region itself, which contained the contents of "support and assistance to military or nearby offices requests". In this thesis, we studied the disaster scenario development according to heavy snow and the response and support system to the features of each regional. For the scenario deduction, we preferentially collected day snowfall and disaster yearbook data to regionals, classified similar pattern and plotted GIS snow map. We also classified heavy snow disaster by region and type and we deduced five-step scenario. The five-step scenario is nationwide(1st-stage), the National Capital region(2nd-stage), the Chungcheong Provinces(3rd-stage), the Kangwon province(4th-stage) and the Ch?l a provinces(5th-stage). Therefore we build near provinces support system according to five-step scenario.
