Modeling and Optimization of RMS Pulse Width for Transmission in Dispersive Nonlinear Fibers

  • Simple algebraic expressions are derived to approximate the optimal input RMS pulse width and the resulting output RMS pulse width in single-mode fibers. The results are compared with the previously published methods and with numerical results by the split-step Fourier method. In addition, for a transform-limited Gaussian input pulse, it is shown that there is no optimum input pulse width to minimize the output spectrum width. Finally, with fiber nonlinearity, it is shown mathematically that there is not an optimum input pulse width to minimize the product,${\sigma}_t{\sigma}_{\omega}$, which is inversely proportional to the transmission capacity of WDM systems.

  • A acoustic emission (AE) sensor has been used to monitor tool were during milling process. The relation between tool wear and AE RMS (Root mean Square) signal was investigated experimentally. A avaliable monitoring index for monitoring toolwear was newly extracted form AE RMS. And on-line monitoring program was developed. The proposed monitoring system has verified experimentally by roughing end milling titanium alloy with TIN coated HSS tool.

  • New liquid crystal (LC) host mixtures and reactive mesogens (RMs) designed for the Polymer Sustainable Vertically Aligned (PS-VA) mode have been developed. The novel combination of LC host mixture with RMs enables to show superior LC display performance with high reliability and to contribute for the robust LC panel production process.

  • ITER CS, VS, CC AC/DC Converter는 4상한 동작을 하며, PCS(Plasma Control System)에서 명령하는 출력 전압 제어를 컨버터 교류 입력 전압 변동을 보상하는 Feed-forward 방식을 사용한다. Feed-forward 제어를 위하여 교류 입력 전압에 대한 실시간 정밀 측정이 가능한 RMS 계산이 필요하다. 본 논문은 RMS 연산에 대한 개선된 방법을 제안하면서 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통해 해당 알고리즘을 검증하였고 이에 대한 내용을 논의하고자 한다.

  • The object of this paper is established for a paradigm for the organization. Although concerns on management get increased in these days, there is no general and systematic framework for a unified sector. Therefore this study proposes the new general and systematic framework for managing in organization, through applying Service-Engineering model. The new framework of this study provides the general sector of organization model, the method of analyzing BSC and RMS, and system model for Risk Management. Furthermore, this study suggests the practical ways of developing a paradigm.

  • This paper investigates the relationship between cutting conditions and Acoustic Emission(AE) signals; $AE_{avg}$, $AE_{rms}$, $AE_{mode}$$AE_{avg}$ and $AE_{rms}$ are increased as the increasing of cutting velocity and depth of cut respectively.   • In this paper, the process effect on the RMS roughness of the $HfO_2$ thin films grown by metal organic molecular beam epitaxy was investigated. The measured RMS roughness is examined to characterize the surface morphology. In order to analyze the factor effects, the significant factors of both the main and the interaction effects were extracted through the effect analysis. In order to compare the regression model with the variable transformation, the effect of each factor and the model efficiency are calculated. The methodology can allow us to analyze the effects between the process parameters related to the process variability.

  • With the advance of precision technique, the optical system is more precise and complex and the machining method of optical element which is composed of micro-grooves is developed. Especially, the method of micro-grooving using diamond tool is used widely owing to many merit, but has problems of damage of surface roughness due to tool wear and tool fracture. This paper deals with state monitoring using AE RMS in the micro-grooving. The change of AE RMS is very small with increment of cutting velocity and depth of cut. In spite of constance magnitude of principal force in machining using diamond tool of tool wear and tool fracture, AE RMS is highly fluctuated. Because changing of cutting state has relevance to surface roughness profile, surface toughness profile is expected using AE RMS.
