  • This paper is Proposed a neural network based estimator for torque and ststor resistance in IPMSM Drives. The neural weights are initially chosen randomly and a model reference algorithm adjusts those weights to give the optimum estimations. The neural network estimator is able to track the varying parameters quite accurately at different speeds with consistent performance. The neural network parameter estimator has been applied to slot and flux linkage torque ripple minimization of the IPMSM. The validity of the proposed parameter estimator is confirmed by the operating characteristics controlled by neural networks control.

  • Of two photovoltaic systems such as stand-alone type and utility interactive one, the utility interactive systems are so valuable for power peak-cut particularly in summer season. For the maximum power point tracking(MPPT) by which the generating energy can be maximized, many control methods have been reported up to now. To overcome the disadvantages of the conventional ones, a new MPPT algorithm is proposed which can improve both tracking ability and generating efficiency of photo voltaic system without chopper.

  • This paper present an investigation of the influence on the PFC(power factor correction) circuit with characteristics variation of MPP (Molybdenum permalloy powder) core. The experiment results of the 1.5kW class Boost converter for PFC rectifier with the average current mode control are evaluated to verify the influence on the PFC converter with inductance variation of the MPP core. As a results, it is shown that the ripple of the inductor using a MPP core increase with output power of the converter.

  • Operating conditions of photovoltaic power generator is very sensitive to the PV modules. The PV module's control is an importance issue in the removing DC ripple noise. In this paper, the phase-shifted-carrier technique, which is a new three-step dc-dc power multi-converter schemes, is applied to solar generator system to improve the output current waveform. The novel type of three-step dc-dc converter presented has many features such as the good output waveform, high efficiency, low switching losses, low acoustic noise. The circuit configuration is constructed by the conventional full-bridge type converter circuit using the isolated DC power supply for which the solar cell is very suitable. In the end, a circuit design for understanding three-step dc-dc converter and new solar power system were presented

  • In this paper we designed a prototype hybrid type linear pulse motor (HLPM) with single side stator structure for low cost. The measurement system which can get the motor characteristics of the HLPM was suggested. The static and dynamic characteristics of the thrust force are measured analyzed. And the microstep drive method is adopted and tested to the drive of prototype HLPM. The thrust waveform is measured respectively to know the differences of the thrust waveform between the microstep drive method and rectangular wave. From the experimental results, it can be confirmed that the repetitive ripple of the thrust force of the prototype HLPM is reduced by taking the microstep drive method.

  • This paper attempts to compensate the nonlinearity between the input voltage and the output displacement of the piezoelectric stack in dynamic actuation by the following two ways. Firstly, the charge steering by circuit configuration reduces the hysteresis of piezoelectric actuator remarkably. However, it makes the ripple in positioning due to the phase lag and noise induced from the elements of the long closed loop. Secondly, the feedforward control by neural network compensates the hysteresis of the piezoelectric actuators effectively with the appropriate selection of the input variables for the training. The improvement of the dynamic performance of the piezoelectric actuators by the developed linearization technique is verified by experiments.

  • The single phase switched reluctance motor(SRM) is simpler in control circuit because the number of switching devices is fewer than the poly phase SRM. The energy density per unit volume is very big because all stator poles are excited simultaneously by a single switching power source. But it must be provided a starting device on account of not being generated the starting torque at specific rotor positions. And also it has some demerits that have a torque ripple, noise and vibration because of being excited by switching pulse power source. Therefore, to make up for these demerits, it is realized many studies for the structure design used by computer and the operating methods by power electronics technique. In this paper, we'll present the comparison of the single phase SRM with the various rotor pole face types, as like stepped rotor pole face type and general rotor pole face type. For the torque characteristics analysis.

  • In this paper, SOA Current and Temperature Driver which consisted of LabVIEW programming part capable of current and temperature transient response pattern design, DAQ module for analog voltage in&out, and voltage to current converting chips has realized. The output current(possible to 3A) from the Driver to SOA was clearly constant without ripple and also showed no variance until 1mA unit for a long time operation. The temperature of TEC took several seconds to reach a set temperature, and were maintained stably within ${\pm}^0.1{\circ}C$ for several hours. The proposed Driver can replace the previous high cost SOA Drivers for wavelength swept lasers fully and provides the convenience of transient response design capability for current and temperature.

  • In general, the output voltage level of a PV array varies widely at various irradiances and temperatures. The MPP (Maximum Power Point) range of a medium- or high-power PV PCS is normally 450~830Vdc or 300~600Vdc. This means the PV PCS should operate in a wide range of modulation indexes. The PV PCS should satisfy the harmonic current requirement that the TDD (Total demand distortion) shall not exceed 5%. This paper proposes a new PWM control method for a medium- or high-power PV PCS which increases the efficiency of power conversion in all operation ranges with acceptable harmonic ripple currents. This paper compares and analyzes appropriate PWM schemes for the PV PCS in the view points of conversion efficiency and current harmonics.

  • This paper describes a control method to minimize the filter capacitor of a AC/DC converter for LED driver. The rectified secondary voltage of the transformer has 120Hz ripple unlike the conventional converter for the LED drive. Therefore, the filter capacitor can be minimized and this provides reduced cost, low switching loss, and long life of the converter.
