In a 200nm Cz-Si crystal, a macroscopic fluctuation in pulling rate was intentionally introduced an then the variations of the pulling rate and the position of OSF-ring were compared each other. The formation behavior of OSF-ring in the effective volume, defined as the region between the growth interface position -α and the growth interface position +α, is most affected by the pulling rate fluctuation. To understand the correct effect of a macroscopic pulling rate fluctuation, its cumulative effect in the effective volume should be considered. A new concept of modeling for it was proposed here.
The acid-promoted cleavage of the E-and Z-isomers of 1-phenyl-6-neopentyl-1,3,4-trimethyl-1-silacyclohe x-3-ene(II) under various conditions gave clean and nearly quantitative formation of the ring-opened 2,3,7,7-tetramethyl-5-(X)silyl-1-octene products (X=OMe, Cl, OH). The possible mechanism for the formation of the ring-opened products was suggested that the initial protonation of II at C-4 would give a carbocation oriented so that they are ${\beta}$ to the silicon atom, and the subsequent nucleophilic attack at silicon would give rise to the observed products (VI, VII, VIII).
Non-activated indolinobenzospiropyrans, 6-(p-substituted phenylazo)-1',3',3'-trimethylspiroindolinobenzopyrans(1-4) have been synthesized by the reaction of commercially available Fischer's base with 2-hydroxy-5-arylazobenzaldehyde (S1-S4). The arylazosalicylaldehydes were obtained from the diazocoupling reaction of substituted anilines with salicylaldehyde. The rate of spiro-ring formation from the open form of these nonactivated spiropyran derivatives at room temperature has been investigated utilizing the stopped-flow method de-veloped earlier. Half life times $(t_{1/2})$ of the ring-closure reaction in ethanol are about 0.3-14 seconds for the nonactivated spiropyrans examined. UV-Visible absorption spectral data of the open merocyanine form of nonactivated spiropyrans, which showed no chromotropism at room temperature, have also been obtained.

The molecular gas surrounding an H II region is thought to be a place where star formation can be induced. Such triggered star formation can arise form the overpressurization of existing density enhancements or thought the collapse of a swept up layers of material. In this talk, We will discuss the results of a study of star-formation activity associated with the outer Galaxy ring-shaped H II regions KR 7, KR 81, KR 120 and KR 140 using archival Spitzer and WISE data along with the JHK observations. We used CO data cubes from the FCRAO and TRAO in order to define extent of the molecular cloud associated each HII region. Using the infrared data sets, We identified and classified YSO populations within each molecular cloud using measures such as the class I/II ratio and YSO spatial density. Along with this, one of the main question in the study of star formation is how protostar accrete material from their parent molecular clouds and observations of infall motions are needed to provide direct evidence for accretion. Combining our observation of the YSO population distribution with time scales associated with YSO evolution and HII expansion, we investigated the possible significance of triggered star formation in the molecular cloud surrounding each region.
A coffee-ring effect is from capillary flow by different evaporation rate across the droplet. The capillary flow tends particles to accumulate at the edges of the droplet and makes the ring-shaped stain pattern. These coffee-ring formation and suppression of coffee-ring have been a critical role in printing and coating technologies. In this study, we present the experimental study on coffee-ring effect of silver nanowire inside the evaporating sessile droplet. Size and concentration effect of nanowires at coffee-ring effect has been investigated. From the coffee-ring, we observed the regimes of connected rings and disconnected ones and measure the resistivity of single ring pattern with different nanowire length.
Nuclear rings in barred galaxies are sites of active star formation (SF). We investigate SF and its feedback effects occurring in barred galaxies, for the first time, using high-resolution grid-based hydrodynamic simulations. The gaseous medium is assumed to be infinitesimally thin, isothermal, and unmagnetized. The SF recipes include a density threshold corresponding to the Jeans condition, a SF efficiency of 1%, and momentum feedback via Type II supernova events together with stellar-wind mass loss. To investigate various environments, we vary the gas sound speed as well as the efficiency of momentum injection in the in-plane direction. We find that when the sound speed is small, the surface density of a ring becomes largely independent of the azimuthal angle, resulting in star-forming regions distributed over the whole length of the ring. When the sound speed is large, on the other hand, the ring achieves the largest density at the contact points between the dust lanes and the ring where SF occurs preferentially, leading to a clear age gradient of star clusters in the azimuthal direction. Since rings shrink with time, a radial age gradient of star clusters naturally develop regardless of sound speed, consistent with observations. SF persists over 200 Myr, with an average rate of ${\sim}1.3M_{\odot}/yr$ similar to observed values. Rings gradually become hostile to SF as they lose gas into stars and turbulent motions dominate.
This study surveys the fiber behavior in yam formation and the Physical properties of Solo-spun yarn. The specimens were made by six types of Solo-spun rollers with fixed twist multiplier In the previous part, the physical properties such as yarn count, evenness, strength, and breaking elongation of these yams were compared with the properties of ring shun yarns and analysed with the mechanism of Solo-spun yarn formation. In the second part of this report, the abrasion resistance and hairiness were discussed wish respect to the micro yarn structures. The narrower the groove width of Solo-spun roller is, the more active the bulk fibers migration is. The Solo-spun film structure has two groups. One is shorter than the others one in longitudinal direction of yarn and has the same structure as ring-spun yarn, which is derided from the smooth zone on the surface of Solo-spun roller. The other one is longer than the former and there are the wrapping fibers. This part is derived from the conflicted grooves on the surface of Solo-spun troller.

A study of adiabatic shear band formation and propagation of 4340 steel was done using the stepped speciment which was subjected to high velocity impact. The high velocity impact was performed on compression Hopkinson bar impact machine. After the controlled impact, the specimen was prepared for visual inspection. Numerical simulation was also performed with same geometrical dimension using explicit time integration finite element code. Experimental results were then compared with the numerical prediction. It was found that the numerical prediction is quite accurate, average thickness of adiabatic shear band is about $10{\mu}m$, the macro crack around shoulder is due to folding, and the deformation control ring is effective to freeze the propagation of adiabatic shear band.
