A new magnetoelastic technique of oil viscosity measurement, where the oil viscosity is estimated by frequency shift of natural oscillations of magnetoelastic ribbon, is implemented in this study. Laboratory tests of the detector prototype are performed for measurement of viscosity of base synthetic and mineral oils. It was found that measurement accuracy was better when damping factor was estimated in comparison with accuracy of frequency of damped oscillations. Thus the oil viscosity was calibrated as a function of number of pulses of the damped oscillations of magnetoelastic ribbon. Result generally showed that developed detector is promising for in line oil viscosity measurement in wide viscosity range from 10 cSt up to 600 cSt, while the viscosity measurement was relatively instable when the viscosity of test oil was over 400 cSt.

The effects of annealing with and without magnetic field on magnetic properties of amorphous Fe-B-Si cores have been investigated as a function of toroidal stress. By decreasing the toroidal stress, the magnetic properties of the amorphous ribbon have beenimproved. Near 180 domain walls exist in the thermally annealed toroidal cores, but the domain walls exist in the thermally annealed toroidal cores, but the domain walls are not parallel to the longitudinal direction of the ribbon. In the specimen annealed with a magnetic field strength of 10 Oe in the longitudinal ribbon length axis, the domains are nearly parallel to the longitudinal direction due to the field induced uniaxial anisotropy resulting in further increase in the remanent magnetization and decrease in the coercive force and loss.
Ribbon-type antisense oligonucleotide to TGF-${\beta}1$ (TGF-${\beta}1$ RiAS) was designed and tested to prevent or resolve the fibrotic changes induced by $CCl_4$ injection. When Hepa1c1c7 cells were transfected with TGF-${\beta}1$ RiAS, the level of TGF-${\beta}1$ mRNA was effectively reduced. TGF-${\beta}1$ RiAS, mismatched RiAS, and normal saline were each injected to mice via tail veins. When examined for the biochemical effects on the liver, TGF-${\beta}1$ mRNA levels were significantly reduced only in the TGF-${\beta}1$ RiAS-treated group. The results of immunohistochemical studies showed that TGF-${\beta}1$ RiAS prevented the accumulation of collagen and ${\alpha}$-smooth muscle actin, but could not resolve established fibrosis. These results indicate that ribbon antisense to TGF-${\beta}1$ with efficient uptake can effectively prevent fibrosis of the liver.
The agitator is an important industrial instrument widely used for mixing various solutions in the industrial field. In this study, the optimized design of the helical ribbon type impeller, which is mainly used for the stirring of the high viscosity solution, is carried out by CFD analysis. For this purpose, an index for evaluating the agitation performance is newly defined and an optimization design process is performed through a multiphase computational fluid dynamic analysis. From these results, it is understood that the stirring performance is maximized in the case of the helical ribbon impeller under given operating conditions when the width is 7.5 mm, the height is 160 mm and the turn is 1.
The one-sided fattenings (called semi-ribbon graph in this paper) of the graph embedded in the real projective plane ℝℙ2 are completely classified up to topological equivalence. A planar graph (i.e., embedded in the plane), admitting the one-sided fattening, is known to be a cactus boundary. For the graphs embedded in ℝℙ2 admitting the one-sided fattening, unlike the planar graphs, a new building block appears: a bracelet along the Möbius band, which is not a connected summand of the oriented surfaces.
The purposes of this study were to investigate the microstructural changes in alloy ribbons of Al-Fe-Mo-Si quarternary system at $450{\sim}500^{\circ}C$, and to study the coarsening mechanism of fine precipitates. Using the hot stage in TEM, in situ microstructural changes in Al-4Fe-0.5Mo-1.5Si alloy ribbon and Al-8Fe-2Mo-1.5Si alloy ribbon have been examined successively up to 60 hours at $450^{\circ}C$ and $500^{\circ}C$. Cell structure in zone B of Al-4Fe-0.5Mo-1.5Si alloy ribbon was observed to collapse even in 10 minutes by in-situ heating at $450^{\circ}C$ and the size of precipitates in zone B increased twice in 60 hours. The precipitates in zone A of Al-4Fe-0.5Mo-1.5Si alloy ribbon showed slower coarsening rate than those in zone B by in-situ heating at $450^{\circ}C$. The precipitates in zone A of Al-8Fe-2Mo-1.5Si alloy ribbon increased 50% by in-situ heating at $500^{\circ}C$ in 50 hours compared to the initial precipitates while any microstructual change in zone B was not observed by in-situ heating at $500^{\circ}C$ up to 50 hours. Only the precipitates in zone A of Al-4Fe-0.5Mo-1.5Si alloy ribbon satisfied $r^3{\propto}t$ relationship of coarsening mechanism.

Ribbon silicon solar cells have been investigated because they can be produced with a lower material cost. However, it is very difficult to get good texturing with a conventional acid solution. To achieve high efficiency should be minimized for the reflectance properties. In this paper, acid vapor texturing and anti-reflection coating of $SiN_x$ was applied for EFG Ribbon Si Wafer. P-type ribbon silicon wafer had a thickness of 200 ${\mu}m$ and a resistivity of 3 $\Omega-cm$. Ribbon silicon wafers were exposed in an acid vapor. Acid vapor texturing was made by reaction between the silicon and the mixed solution of HF : $HNO_3$. After acid vapor texturing process, nanostructure of less than size of 1 ${\mu}m$ was formed and surface reflectance of 6.44% was achieved. Reflectance was decreased to 2.37% with anti-reflection coating of $SiN_x$.
The change of ribbon geometry, microstructure and shape recovery with Mn contents, wheel speed and various annealing temperature have been studied in Fe-X%Mn-5Cr-5Co-4Si (X%=15, 20, 24) shape memory alloy (SMA) ribbons rapidly solidfied by single roll chill-block melt-spinning process. The thickness and width of melt-spun ribbons are reduced, results in refining and uniformalizing grains with increasing wheel speed. In the ribbons melt-spun at a wheel speed of 15m/sec, both ${\varepsilon}$ and ${\alpha}^{\prime}$martensites are formed in ribbon 1 (15.5wt%Mn), while only ${\varepsilon}$ martensite is revealed in ribbon 2 (20.2wt%Mn) and ribbon 3 (23.5wt%Mn). The volume fraction of ${\varepsilon}$ martensite is decreased with increasing Mn contents, and those of ${\varepsilon}$ as well ${\alpha}^{\prime}$martensites are increased due to thermal stress relief and grain growth with increasing annealing temperature. Ms temperatures of the ribbons 1, 2 and 3 are fallen with increasing Mn contents. $M_s$ temperatures of the ribbons 1, 2 and 3 annealed at $300^{\circ}C$ for 3 min are risen abruptly, but are nearly constant even at higher annealing temperature, i.e., 400, 500 and $600^{\circ}C$ for 3 min. Shape recovery of the ribbons 1, 2 and 3 increased 30%, 52% and 69% with Mn contents, respectively. Shape recovery of ribbon 1 (15.5wt%Mn) formed ${\varepsilon}$ and ${\alpha}^{\prime}$martensites decreased because of the presence of ${\alpha}^{\prime}$martensite but those of ribbon 2 (20.2wt%Mn) and ribbon 3 (23.5wt%Mn) formed ${\varepsilon}$ martensite increased with increasing annealing temperature.
