Stochastic Petri Nets Modeling Methods of Channel Allocation in Wireless Networks

  • To obtain realistic performance measures for wireless networks, one should consider changes in performance due to failure related behavior. In performability analysis, simultaneous consideration is given to both pure performance and performance with failure measures. SRN is an extension of stochastic Petri nets and provides compact modeling facilities for system analysis. In this paper, a new methodology to model and analyze performability based on stochastic reward nets (SRN) is presented. Composite performance and availability SRN models for wireless handoff schemes are developed and then these models are decomposed hierarchically. The SRN models can yield measures of interest such as blocking and dropping probabilities. These measures are expressed in terms of the expected values of reward rate functions for SRNs. Numerical results show the accuracy of the hierarchical model. The key contribution of this paper constitutes the Petri nets modeling techniques instead of complicate numerical analysis of Markov chains and easy way of performance analysis for channel allocation under SRN reward concepts.

  • This paper reviews methods used to perform reliability and availability analysis of the network system composed by nodes and links. The combination of nodes and links forms virtual connections (VC). The failure of several VCs cause failure of whole network system. Petri Net models are used to analyze the reliability and availability. Stochastic reward nets (SRN) is an extension of stochastic Petri nets provides modelling facilities for network system analysis.

  • Robot's throwing control is difficult to accurately calculate because of air resistance and rotational inertia, etc. This complexity can be solved by using machine learning. Reinforcement learning using reward function puts limit on adapting to new environment for robots. Therefore, this paper applied deep reinforcement learning using neural network without reward function. Throwing is evaluated as a success or failure. AI network learns by taking the target position and control policy as input and yielding the evaluation as output. Then, the task is carried out by predicting the success probability according to the target location and control policy and searching the policy with the highest probability. Repeating this task can result in performance improvements as data accumulates. And this model can even predict tasks that were not previously attempted which means it is an universally applicable learning model for any new environment. According to the data results from 520 experiments, this learning model guarantees 75% success rate.

Performability Analysis of Token Ring Networks using Hierarchical Modeling

  • It is important for communication networks to possess the capability to overcome failures and provide survivable services. We address modeling and analysis of performability affected by both performance and availability of system components for a token ring network under failure and repair conditions. Stochastic reward nets (SRN) is an extension of stochastic Petri nets and provides compact modeling facilities for system analysis. In this paper, hierarchical SRN modeling techniques are used to overcome state largeness problem. The upper level model is used to compute availability and the lower level model captures the performance. And Normalized Throughput Loss (NTL) is obtained for the composite ring network for each node failures occurrence as a performability measure. One of the key contributions of this paper constitutes the Petri nets modeling techniques instead of complicate numerical analysis of Markov chains and easy way of performability analysis for a token ring network under SRN reward concepts.

The Relationship among Usage Situation of Customer's Reward Program, Negative Affect, Commitment, and Complaining Behavior - Focused on Equal Theory - (고객보상프로그램의 사용상황과 부정적 감정, 결속차원 및 불평행동의 관계에 관한 연구 - 공정성이론을 중심으로 -)

  • Customer's reward program is a prevailing promotional technique. Recently, both management and marketing fields have been interested in the failure of customer's reward program. However, there are few empirical research regarding this. Therefore, this study examined a research model that employs justice in processing of customer's reward program perceived by customer to explain commitment(calculative commitment, affective commitment) and complaining behavior which is mediated by negative affect. Data was collected from the customers who dissatisfied with their reward programs. For the analysis, frequency, cronbach' ${\alpha}$ and path analysis were used as statistical test tool. Additionally, SPSS 12.0 and AMOS 4.0 were used for analyzing the hypotheses. As a result, proposed structural model largely supports the hypothesized framework and the major findings of this study are summarized as follows: First, distributive and interactional justice were negatively related to negative affect. But procedural justice didn't influence negative affect. Second, negative affect was negatively related to calculative commitment. But affective commitment wasn't influenced by negative affect. Third, negative affect was positively related to complaining behavior. Fourth, calculative commitment was negatively related to complaining behavior. But negative affect didn't influence complaining behavior. In conclusion, It can be posited that justice, negative affect, 2 forms of commitment and complaining behavior are important factors.

  • The Purpose of this study is to analyze the mechanism of permanent death and playing aspects in Rogue-like games. The death in digital game is not only punishment of failure, but reward for player's growth. However the mechanism of permanent death which does not allow to resurrect is critical penalty for players and causes play-cycle with high anxiety. In the mechanism of permanent death, players do critical play to evade the death. But when they replay the game they modify their unethical choices to build alternative game world. Through the mechanism of permanent death which demands critical and alternative play, it could be possible to find the way to design games with serious choice.

  • The Entrepreneurship education are contributes to creation of new business or national economy. The increasing of job-loss recovery, youth unemployment and 1 person creative company entrepreneurship follows the increasing to Entrepreneurship failure. We identify entrepreneurship education factors which motivate individuals' self-leadership and entrepreneurship. Research results suggests that understanding level and creativity level of entrepreneurship education significant effects on the reward self-leadership. And reward self-leadership positive significant effects on the entrepreneurship.

  • Little attention has been focussed on a precise definition and evaluation mechanism for project management risk specifically related to contractors. When bidding, contractors traditionally price risks using unsystematic approaches. The high business failure rate our industry records may indicate that the current unsystematic mechanisms contractors use for building up contingencies may be inadequate. The reluctance of some contractors to include a price for risk in their tenders when bidding for work competitively may also not be a useful approach. Here, instead, we first define the meaning of contractor contingency, and then we develop a facile quantitative technique that contractors can use to estimate a price for project risk. This model will help contractors analyse their exposure to project risks; and also help them express the risk in monetary terms for management action. When bidding for work, they can decide how to allocate contingencies strategically in a way that balances risk and reward.

  • Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) as a delivery method fully capitalizes on an integrated project team that takes advantage of the knowledge of all team members to maximize project outcomes. IPD is currently the highest form of collaboration available because all three core project stakeholders, owner, designer and contractor, are aligned to the same purpose. Compared with traditional project delivery approaches such as Design-Bid-Build (DBB), Design-Build (DB), and CM at-Risk, IPD is distinguished in that it eliminates the adversarial nature of the business by encouraging transparency, open communication, honesty and collaboration among all project stakeholders. The team appropriately shares the project risk and reward. Sharing reward is easy, while it is hard to fairly share a failure. So the compensation structure and the contingency in IPD are very different from those in traditional delivery methods and they are expected to encourage motivation, inspiration and creativity of all project stakeholders to achieve project success. This paper investigates the compensation structure in IPD and provides a method to determine the proper level of contingency allocation to reduce the risk of cost overrun. It also proposes a method in which contingency could be used as a functional monetary incentive when established to produce the desired level of collaboration in IPD. Based on the compensation structure scenario discovered, a probabilistic contingency calculation model was created by evaluating the random nature of changes and various risk drivers. The model can be used by the IPD team to forecast the probability of the cost overrun and equip the IPD team with confidence to really enjoy the benefits of collaborative team work.

  • Construction Projects have many participants by characteristic, scale and contract. Those also have complicated communication structure. So, claim and dispute occur continuously for conflicting communication. In many claim and dispute cases, it usually occurs between builder and owner. Unfair practices by owners position cause main claim and dispute. This study analyses judgment type, cause and compensation ratio in korean commercial arbitration case and provides the dispute information for builder that has weak position by contract. It draws analysis information for managing and controlling dispute that order type, judgement type, cause and failure case. Using these analysis information, it hopes to help inducement of dispute agreement and save time and economic damage for builder during construction. It also hopes to rise construction completeness by providing dispute management information.
