급수가열기 추기노즐 충격판 주변의 동체감육 현상규명을 위한 실험 및 수치해석 연구 (A Study on Experiment and Numerical Analysis for Disclosing Shell Wall Thinning of a Feedwater Heater)

  • Feedwater heaters of many nuclear power plants have recently experienced severe wall thinning damage, which will increase as operating time progresses. Several nuclear power plants in Korea have experienced wall thinning damage in the area around the impingement baffle - installed downstream of the high pressure turbine extraction steam line - inside number 5A and 5B feedwater heaters. At that point, the extracted steam from the high pressure turbine is two phase fluid at high temperature, high pressure, and high speed. Since it flows in reverse direction after impinging the impingement baffle, the shell wall of the number 5 high pressure feedwater heater may be affected by flow-accelerated corrosion. This paper describes the comparisons between the numerical analysis results using the FLUENT code and the down scale experimental data in an effort to determine root causes of the shell wall thinning of the high pressure feedwater heaters. The numerical analysis and experimental data were also confirmed by actual wall thickness measured by an ultrasonic test.

  • Homogenous silica-coated $CoFe_2O_4$ samples with controlled silica thickness were synthesized by the reverse microemulsion method. First, 7 nm size cobalt ferrite nanoparticles were prepared by thermal decomposition methods. Hydrophobic cobalt ferrites were coated with controlled $SiO_2$ using polyoxyethylene(5)nonylphenylether (Igepal) as a surfactant, $NH_4OH$ and tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS). The well controlled thickness of the silica shell was found to depend on the reaction time and the amount of surfactant used during production. Thick shell was prepared by increasing reaction time and small amount of surfactant.

MRI 데이터를 이용한 쥐의 경추와 인접한 조직의 유한요소 모델화 (Finite Element Modeling of the Rat Cervical Spine and Adjacent Tissues from MRI Data)

  • Traumatic loading during car accidents or sports activities can lead to cervical spinal cord injury. Experiments in spinal cord injury research are mainly carried out on rabbit or rat. Finite element models that include the rat cervical spinal cord and adjacent soft tissues should be developed for efficient studies of mechanisms of spinal cord injury. Images of a rat were obtained from high resolution MRI scanner. Polygonal surfaces were extracted structure by structure from the MRI data using the ITK-SNAP volume segmentation software. These surfaces were converted to Non-uniform Rational B-spline surfaces by the INUS Rapidform rapid prototyping software. Rapidform was also used to generate a thin shell surface model for the dura mater which sheathes the spinal cord. Altair's Hypermesh pre-processor was used to generate finite element meshes for each structure. These processes in this study can be utilized in modeling of other biomedical tissues and can be one of examples for reverse engineering on biomechanics.

  • In this paper. we will discuss in making large size cylindrical shells with multithickness wall sections such as straight, stepped, tapered sides. These shells are constructed of type 6061 O temper aluminum starting with a blanking size of 877 mm plate. Its diameter to length ratio of 1 to 2.78 and a 36.7% wall reduction is achieved by our continuous deep drawing process. This process required no in-process annealing. But after cold working, these shells is performed heat treatment to T6 condition. These shells are used for the making of seamless LPG pressure vessels after the spinning process. This process is composed of deep drawing, reverse redrawing, drawing-ironing and several ironing processes. In the verification of forming process design, we used DEFORM code.

승용차 프론트 사이드 조립체의 역설계적 유한요소 충돌해석 (Crash FE Analysis of Front Side Assembly for Reverse Engineering)

  • Crashworthiness design is of special interest in automotive industry and in the transportation safety field to ensure the vehicle structural integrity and more importantly the occupant safety in the event of the crash. Front side assembly is one of the most important energy absorbing components in relating to the crashworthiness design of vehicle. The structure and shape of the front side assemblies are different depending on automakers. Thus, it is not easy to grab an insight on designer's intention when you glance at a new front side member without experiences. In this paper, we have performed the explicit nonlinear dynamic finite element analysis on the front side assembly of a passenger car to identify the mechanical roles of each part of the assembly and to enhance the absorbing energy from the viewpoint of reverse engineering.

HgTe와 HgTe/CdTe core-shell 구조의 나노입자의 광학적 특성 비교 (Optical properties of HgTe and HgTe/CdTe core-shell structured nanocrystals)

  • HgTe and HgTe/CdTe core-shell structured nanocrystals(NCs) were synthesized in aqueous solution by colloidal method. HgTe and HgTe/CdTe NCs structure showed very similar XRD patterns because of the same lattice constant and crystal structure of both samples. The absorption and photoluminescence(PL) spectrum of the synthesized HgTe NCs revealed the strong exitonic peak in the IR region. The PL spectrum of HgTe/CdTe NCs have the intense peak in about 700nm shorter than that of HgTe by 400nm. The photocurrent measurement of colloidal NCs are performed using He-Ne laser for light source. The photocurrent of HgTe NCs shows the instant increased current response to light, but HgTe/CdTe NCs revealed a decreased current when lighted to the sample. In the vacuum condition, it shows reverse result that current increased under the illumination of light and it is thought that the molecules like the hydro-oxygen gas in the air give an important effect on the current mechanism.

This paper describes operation of experience and numerical analysis composed similar condition with real high pressure feedwater heater. This study applied squared, curved and new type impingement baffle plates to feedwater heater same as previous study. In addition, it shows difference of pressure distribution and value between single phase and two phase based on experience and numerical analysis.

셀룰로오스 에탄올 생산공정에서 리그닌의 제거특성 (Characteristics of Lignin Removal in Cellulosic Ethanol Production Process)

  • 본 연구에서는 볏짚, 톱밥, 밤껍질, 땅콩껍질 등 목질계 바이오매스를 이용하여 전처리과정으로 산처리과정을 진행한 후 리그닌 함량변화를 측정하고, 이에 따른 셀룰로오스 에탄올로의 전환특성을 해석하였다. 목질계 바이오매스의 리그닌 함량을 측정한 결과 밤껍질 < 볏짚 < 톱밥 < 땅콩껍질 순으로 리그닌 함량이 높게 측정되었으며, 셀룰로오스 에탄올로의 전환특성은 땅콩껍질 < 톱밥 < 볏짚 < 밤껍질 순으로 우수한 것으로 나타나 산처리과정으로 리그닌의 제거가 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 산처리과정에서 황산의 농도가 증가함에 따라 리그닌 함량이 감소하여 셀룰로오스 에탄올의 수율은 증가하였으며, 최적 황산의 농도는 20 wt%로 선정하였다.

계란의 형질들 및 산란율에 대한 난각색이 다른 두 계통간의 비교 연구 (Comparisons between Two Different Eggshell Lines on Egg Traits and Egg Production Rate in Layers)

  • 백색란 계통인 Hy-line W-98과 갈색란 계통인 Hy-line Brown을 이용하여 주요 계란형질들과 산란율에 대한 닭의 계통간의 차이를 구명하고자 시험한 결과, 각 시험주령별 평균 난중에 있어서 백색란 계통과 갈색란 계통간에 유의한 차이는 나타나지 않았으나, 전체 평균 난중은 백색란 계통이 63.57 g 이었고, 갈색란 계통이 64.43 g으로서 갈색란 계통의 계란이 0.86 g이 더 무거운(P<0.05) 것으로 나타났다. 전체 난중에 대한 난백의 비율은 54주령시를 제외한 나머지 모든 주령에서, 그리고 전체 평균 난백의 비율에서도 갈색란 계통은 백색란 계통보다 유의하게 (P<0.05) 더 높은 것으로 나타난 반면에, 난중에 대한 난황의 비율은 모든 시험주령 및 전체 평균치에 있어서 갈색란 계통이 백색란 계통보다 유의하게(P<0.05) 더 낮았다. 한편 난중에 대한 난각의 비율 및 난각의 두께는 갈색란 계통이 백색란 계통보다 유의하게(P<0.05) 더 높거나 더 두터운 것으로 나타났다. 전체 난중에 대한 난황 : 난백의 비율은4개 시험주령중 3개 시험주령에서 갈색란 계통이 백색란 계통보다 유의하게(P<0.05) 더 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 초산시(20주령)부터 56주령시까지의 전체 평균 Hen-day 산란율은 백색란 계통이 63.7%이었던 반면에, 갈색란 계통은 70.3%로서 갈색란 계통이 백색란 계통보다 6.6% 정도 산란율이 유의하게(P<0.05) 더 높았다. 결론적으로 계란소비자가 상대적으로 더 선호하는 갈색란 생산 계통을 사육하는 것이 성계의 체중과 가금티푸스와 같은 질병문제를 개량한다면 난중, 난백의 비율, 난각의 두께 및 산란율에 있어서 백색란 생산계통의 사육보다 더 바람직함을 알 수 있었다.
