  • This study aims to analyze the changes in the management efficiency of public institutions in time series, and to examine the relationship with financial performance based on the results of time series changes. Specifically, we classified into upper and lower groups of financial performance based on the government's management evaluation results, and analyze how the management efficiency of each group changed in the period before the evaluation year. Based on public institutions published in public business information system, DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis) was performed for estimating management efficiency. The results are summarized as follows; First, we find that DEA of the upper group changed in the direction of increasing, but DEA of the lower group changed in the direction of decreasing. Second, we find that there is a significant positive relation between DEA and financial performance. This result means that the higher financial performance, the higher management efficiency. These findings imply that management efficiency can be a factor that improve financial performance in public institutions. The results also suggest that government's innovation strategies to improve financial stability by enhancing management efficiency were effective.

The evaluation focused on image preference and use satisfaction of visitors. This is the initial project of popular singer-storytelling street as a new attraction, and the results could be used as basic data for the sustainable planning and management of storytelling streets. 200 respondents of visitor group were analyzed. Frequency analysis for demographics, use, behavior, reliability, and means, were evaluated. Factor analysis and multiple regression analysis were conducted for image preference and use satisfaction. Responses showed high frequency of twenties in age, who were typically students. In use motives and activities, strolling, sightseeing, and taking pictures were shown to be the most common. The mean scores of image variables showed symbolic (5.03), familiar (4.84), beautiful (4.71), and bright (4.63), the highest. The result of exploratory factor analysis, led to 3 factors being categorized; the mood of street, the design, and the dynamics. Due to the result of multiple regression analysis, the preference of space image was significantly influenced by 4 image variables; symbolic (${\beta}=.314$), stable (${\beta}=.248$), friendly (${\beta}=.204$), and fresh (${\beta}=.142$). In the use satisfaction analysis, the mean scores were highest concerning facility design (3.81), typical street (3.78), the image of street (3.81), continued use (3.66), and experiential tourism (3.53), respectively. The mean score of parking space (2.56) was the lowest. In factor analysis concerning use satisfaction, 3 factors were categorized; facility management, experience, and image. By the result of multiple regression analysis, the total satisfaction of use was significantly influenced by 4 independent variables; image of street (${\beta}=.296$), management (${\beta}=.277$), continued use (${\beta}=.205$), and typical street (${\beta}=.183$). As storytelling road for urban regeneration, 'Kim Gwang-seok Street' has shown considerable success in significant improvement of image preference and user satisfaction. Therefore, the enhancement of 'placeness' through storytelling of Kim Gwang-seok, and the strengthening of its identity and symbolism, should be the basic focus of development for the street in the future.

  • This work dealt with the design and manufacturing of composite blades of a vertical axis wind turbine system. In this work, aerodynamic and structural designs of sandwich composite blades for a vertical axis wind turbine system were performed. First, the aerodynamic and structural design requirements of the composite blades were investigated. After the structural design was complete, a structural analysis of the wind turbine blades was performed using the finite element analysis method. It was performed with the stress and displacement analysis at the applied load condition. A design modification for the structurally weak part was proposed as a result of the structural analysis. Through another structural analysis, it was confirmed that the final designed blade structure is safe.

  • The VE/LCC study on the existing multi-utility tunnel examined the economical feasibility of the collective area through the cost-benefit analysis of the ten major routes of Seoul for the benefit (7 items) and the cost (5 items) through quantitative methods. In this paper, we analyzed the economic efficiency of 61 sectors by adding 3 items (reduced traffic accident, reduced vehicle noise, social-economic loss). The reduced traffic accident item is an improvement of the traffic accident cost that can be saved by the implementation of the project, and the reduced vehicle noise item is an indicator of the amount of noise change caused by the implement of the business. Finally, the social-economic loss items represent the impact on the local economy due to the construction of the multi-utility tunnel. The amounts of the additional items were compared and items added in the open type and tunnel type multi-utility tunnel were analyzed for each analysis. Result on the analysis, it analyzed the items applied to the basic and detail models in the economic evaluation of the multi-utility tunnel design, and makes it possible to evaluate the economic efficiency more efficiently. The economic evaluation of the basic and detailed models including the items presented in this study will be often used in the design of the multi-utility tunnel design.

  • The combined approach of using ego-centric network analysis and dynamic citation network analysis for refining the result of LDA-based topic modeling was suggested and examined in this study. Tow datasets were constructed by collecting Web of Science bibliographic records of White LED and topic modeling was performed by setting a different number of topics on each dataset. The multi-assigned top keywords of each topic were re-assigned to one specific topic by applying an ego-centric network analysis algorithm. It was found that the topical cohesion of the result of topic modeling with the number of topic corresponding to the lowest value of perplexity to the dataset extracted by SPLC network analysis was the strongest with the best values of internal clustering evaluation indices. Furthermore, it demonstrates the possibility of developing the suggested approach as a method of multi-faceted research trend detection.

  • Responding to the increasing demand for research on seismic resistance of structures triggered by a large-scale earthquake in Korea, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety revised the typical application of the existing seismic design standards with the national seismic performance target enhanced. Therefore, in this paper, the dam body of the aged Test-Bed and the penstock with fluid were modeled by the three-dimensional finite element method by introducing several variables. The current seismic design standard law confirmed the safety of the dam structure and penstock against seismic waves. As a result of the 3D finite element analysis, the stress change due to the water impact of the penstock was minimal, and it was confirmed that the effect of the hydraulic pressure was more significant than the water impact in the earthquake situation. When the hydrostatic pressure is in the form of SPH, it was analyzed that the motion of the fluid and the location of stress caused by the earthquake can be effectively represented, and it will be easier to analyze the weak part. As a result of the analysis, which considers penstock's corrosion, the degree of stress dispersion gets smaller because the penstock is embedded in the body. The stress result is minimal, less than 1% of the yield stress of the steel. In addition, although there is a possibility of micro-tensile cracks occurring in the inlet of the dam, it has not been shown to have a significant effect on the stress increa.

  • Most research on web site design has focused on technological factors, while visual aesthetic factors have been considered less important. In contrast, this study focuses on visual aesthetic factors in web site design. Findings of this study can be summarized as follows : (1) The result of SPSS-factor analysis shows that there are 3 distinct factors, 'classical aesthetics', 'expressive aesthetics', and 'usability' 'Classical aesthetics' and 'expressive aesthetics' can be described by visual aesthetic design, 'Visual aesthetic design' can be distinguished from 'usability'. This conceptual confusion relating to 'usability' and 'visual aesthetic design' can be clarified by these findings. (2) As a result of multiple regression analyses, 'classical aesthetics', 'expressive aesthetics', and 'usability' have a positive influence on 'interactivity' and 'web site evaluation'. This research clarifies the concepts of 'expectations' of Grier [18] and 'engagement' of Rosen and Purinton [33] as the 'interactivity' between users and web sites. Furthermore, this research suggests a valid model with high $R^2$(interactivity, 48% : web site evaluation, 68%). (3) Empirical tests show that the differences among users in 'entry point' are related to the characteristics of web sites and the personal characteristics of users. The differences among users in terms of 'scanning time' are closely related to the attitudes and evaluation tendencies of users with respect to web sites. These findings could contribute to the 'search phase' of the Faraday model [16], enabling it to be more precise and extensible. The managerial implication of this study is that customers' preferences regarding web site designs are differences, as their preferences are based on their individual characteristics. Therefore, marketing managers should consider promotional tools on web sites that are relevant to the target market. An optimal strategy for web design could be a carefully-selected combination of factors that are relevant to the 'interactivity' and 'evaluation' of web sites. Additionally, if marketing managers want to attract more favorable attitudes and more affirmative evaluations from users, web sites should be designed so that they are understood more quickly by users. finally, this study suggests that 'good design' for web sites depends on understanding how to attain the appropriate balance between 'classical aesthetics' and 'expressive aesthetics', based on the target customer.
