A Study on Restricted Feeding of Egg Type Stock (산란종계의 제한사양에 관한 연구)

  • Field trials and research works have shown that the sexually retarded pullets are better equipped to lay larger eggs at the commencement of lay than the pullets grown under the natural conditions with no control over the rate of maturity. The method of delaying the sexual maturity by restricting the nutrient intake is receiving a considerable attention from the research workers, since the nutrient restriction can be a method of reducing the rearing cost. Many experiments were carried out to study the effect of different methods of restricting the nutrient intake of the chicken. But the comparisons between these experiments are difficult because of the differences in the environment, management, type of breed and feed, and in the length of the time during which the feed intake was restricted. In addition the comparisons were not made on an economic basis in these experiments. This experiment was designed to provide information on the reproductive responses to three different methods of restricting the nutrient intake in a egg type stock and to establish which methods are economically profitable.   • In general, ground surface strengthening such as using geotextile is needed to secure trafficability of construction equipment. There are many researches for mechanical beha-vior of very soft ground covered with geotextile, however, most of them are under the condition to fix geotextile completely. In this study, numerical analyses were carried out to figure out the effects of restricting conditions of geotextile on bearing mechanism of very soft ground covered with geotextile. In numerical analyses, joint elements were used to figure out the friction properties between ground and geotextile. The results of numerical analyses were compared with the results of model test. In conclusion, the effects of restricting conditions of geotextile on bearing mechanism of very soft ground covered with geotextile became clear.

  • Brushless DC motors have a trapezoidal back EMF wave form and are fed with rectangular stator currents. Under these conditions, the torque produced is theoretcally constant. However, in practice, torque ripple may exist, one major cause of which conies from phase current commutation. In this paper we propose an improved method of reducing the torque ripple due to phase current commutation of indirectly restricting the uncommutated current through control of the other phase currents. Simulation results are present.

Heterophil / Lymphocyte Response and Performance of Feed and Water Restricted Broiler Chickens under Tropical Conditions

  • The effects of restricting feed [60% of ad libitum (AL) intake] (FR) or water provided from 0900 h to 1600 h, daily) (WR) or both (FWR) from 14 to 42 days of age on heterophil/lymphocyte (H/L) response and performance in broiler chickens under the hot humid tropical conditions were determined. Feed and/or water limitation retarded growth, but had no adverse effect on overall feed conversion ratio and survivability. The trend for total feed and water consumption was similar to body weight pattern with AL>WR>FR>FWR. The nutritional regimens had significant effect on overall water:feed ratios with FR>(AL=WR)>FWR. Restriction of feed and/or water resulted in marked elevation of H/L ratios. As measured by H/L ratios, the effect of adapting to FR dissipated between 16 to 21 days after the onset of feed restriction. The H/L ratios of WR and FWR birds remained elevated throughout the duration of the experiment.

Span limit and parametric analysis of cable-stayed bridges

  • The span record of cable-stayed bridges has exceeded 1,000 m, which makes research on the maximum possible span length of cable-stayed bridges an important topic in the engineering community. In this paper, span limit is discussed from two perspectives: the theoretical span limit determined by the strength-to-density ratio of the cable and girder, and the engineering span limit, which depends not only on the strength-to-density ratio of materials but also on the actual loading conditions. Closed form equations of both theoretical and engineering span limits of cable-stayed bridges determined by the cable and girder are derived and a detailed parametric analysis is conducted to assess the engineering span limit under current technical conditions. The results show that the engineering span limit of cable-stayed bridges is about 2,200 m based on materials used available today. The girder is the critical member restricting further increase in the span length; its compressive stress is the limiting factor. Approaches to increasing the engineering span limit are also presented based on the analysis results.

  • this paper deal with the estimation of the power spectral density function of time series. A kernel estimator which is based on local average is defined and the rates of convergence of the pointwise, $$L_2$-norm; and; $L{\infty}$-norm associated with the estimator are investigated by restricting as to kernels with suitable assumptions. Under appropriate regularity conditions, it is shown that the optimal rate of convergence for 0$N^{-r}$ both in the pointwiseand $$L_2$-norm, while; $N^{r-1}(logN)^{-r}$is the optimal rate in the $L{\infty}-norm$. Some examples are given to illustrate the application of main results.

  • Railway system is consisted of resources such as rail-line, signalling system, and railcars. It is necessary to efficiently utilize these limited and expensive resources as much as possible up to given line capacity. So far, we treat the line capacity as the criteria for evaluating investment alternatives or for restricting train frequencies, and this criteria is calculated statical and experimental numerical formula. But, line capacity has special attribute that changes dynamically according to operational conditions, so there is a need of new line capacity estimation system. In this paper, we present systematic line capacity analysis model. The proposed model has three main components; TPS(tain performance simulator), PES(parameter evaluation simulator), LCS(line capacity simulator).

Ecological study for The control of Green Contamination in Korean Show Caves

  • The chlorophyta and thebryophyta are became extinct by the shutting out the light and low temperature in caves. Whenever they get the conditions, they grow again immediately. It is necessary to keep the illumination distance over 2m and use the indirect light. The effect of lamp light and temperature is very important in the control of green contamination but the water and moisture in caves are essential factors in green contamination in the show caves. It's better to get rid of green alae and mosses at early stage for the control of the increase of green contamination. They must be isolated completely without the dispersion with moist pieces of cloth or sponge. It is necessary to shut out the cave route periodically for the restoration of cave environments and ecosystem. It's better to use the lamp keeping illumination and restricting the ascension of heat for the control of green contamination.

  • A new robust sliding mode controller is formulated for the tip position control of a single-link flexible manipulator with parameter variations. After establishing the plant model characterized by a noncollocated uncertain control system, a sliding surface which guarantees stable sliding mode motion is synthesized in an optimal manner. The surface is then modified to adapt arbitrarily given initial conditions. A discontinuous control law associated with the modified surface is designed by restricting that velocity state variables are not available from direct sensor measurements. Using the proposed control law favorable system responses are accomplished through shortening the reaching phase of state trajectory without increasing maximum control torque as well as undesirable chattering. Furthermore, a low sensitiveness to uncertainties is obtained from inherent salient properties of the proposed control system. Computer simulations are undertaken in order to demonstrate these superior control performance characteristics to be accrued from the proposed methodology.

And capacity parameter evaluation and estimation results using sample line section data are presented.
