Infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis (IBK) is the most common ocular disease in cattle, manifesting as corneal opacity, corneal ulcerations and potentially vision loss. The present report describes a 10-month-old Holstein Friesian heifer with IBK treated by systemic tulathromycin, and subconjunctival injection of penicillin and dexamethasone. We investigated changes in the hematological indices and microorganisms related to IBK after treatment. Neutrophils and monocytes decreased during recovery, so it was assumed that these two types of white cells are associated with IBK. Moraxella bovoculi was cleared in the eye, nasal cavity, and oral cavity after treatment. The distribution of M. bovoculi before treatment indicated that a combined systemic and subconjunctival treatment was necessary. The lesioned eye was found to be overwhelmed by Mycoplasma bovoculi, while pathogen abundance was reduced in the nasal cavity and oral cavities. These results suggest that antibiotic treatment can alter the composition and relative abundance of microorganisms.

A hippolytid shrimp, Lebbeus grandimana, is described from the southern part of the East Sea and this is the first record of the species in Korea. The genus Lebbeus of the family Hippolytidae currently comprises four species in Korea. A key to identify the four species of the genus Lebbeus from Korean waters is provided.

Two penaeoid shrimps, Hadropenaeus lucasii (Bate, 1881) and Sicyonia truncata (Kubo, 1949), were collected from the northeastern waters of Jeju Island, Korea. These represent the only Korean reports of a member of the genus Hadropenaeus, family Solenoceridae and of a member of family Sicyonidae, respectively. Morphological descriptions and illustrations with a color photograph of each species are given. Korean Penaeoidea presently includes 27 species in three families.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the effects of Human Resources Development by type and strategy, and to review the importance of Human resources Development in the knowledge-based society in a comprehensive way. In particular, the paper reviews the tourism industry, one of the typical service industry, for which the utilization of the Human Resources is crucial. and it presents a specific direction policy of Human Resources Development in the field. An analysis was performed for each area of Human Resources Development inputs and output factors which lead to achieve the purpose of the study was to review the characteristics of the Human Resources Development area. After reviewing, the tourism industry was differentiated according to type of strategy development areas through a statistical approach to the input and output elements around. In this study, along with the estabilishment of a Human Resources development strategy bases on the nature and purpose of differentiation with future Human resource Development in each region showed that the operations of the business need.

Although it has been well known that the Saemaul Undong had a direct relation with the water resources development during 1970's, its contribution to the water resources and increased income in rural communities has not been thoroughly quantified so far. In order to assess the contribution of the Saemaul Undong in terms of rural water resources development, we investigated various historical data produced by the central and local governments in relation to water resources development. The results show the direct and indirect contribution of the Saemaul Undong to the water resources development in rural communities such as sewage works, water supply facilities, shared wells, and river works. The results also showed a positive relation between per-house income in rural communities and areas of irrigated paddies, which were rapidly increased during 1970's. These results can be utilized to transplant the positive aspect of the Saemaul Undong to developing countries focusing on water resources development in rural areas.
