  • In the resonant converters which can provide high efficiency and high power density, the resonant voltage stress is about $4\~5$ times the input voltage. It needs the power switch with high ratings. This is a reason why the conduction loss is increased. In this paper, it proposes the alternately zero voltage switched forward, flyback multi resonant converter topology for reducing the voltage stress using alternately zero voltage switching technique. And the proposed AT forward MRC Is experimentally considered about the loop gain with HP4194A network analyzer

광학 펄스 에너지와 온도 변화에 의한 고온 초전도체의 공명 진동수 변조 (Resonant Frequency Modulation of High Temperature Superconductors Subjected to Optical Pulse Energy and Temperature)

  • The resonant frequency modulation of $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-x}$ meander lines has been investigated as functions of optical pulse energy and temperature by using a network analyzer. The frequency-domain measurements are performed by controlling both the resonant frequency and the frequency width. The meander lines, configured in a microstrip geometry, are illuminated by optical pulses from an actively mode-locked Nd:YAG laser. The variation of the resonant frequency shows a quadratic dependence on the reduced optical pulse energy $P/P_c$, where $P_c$ is defined as the critical optical pulse energy at which resonance signal has disappeared. As for the dependence on temperature, the results are in good agreement with the previously reported data.

Novel Control Strategy for a UPQC under Distorted Source and Nonlinear Load Conditions

  • This paper proposes a novel control strategy for a unified power quality conditioner (UPQC) including a series and a shunt active power filter (APF) to compensate the harmonics in both the distorted supply voltage and the nonlinear load current. In the series APF control scheme, a proportional-integral (PI) controller and a resonant controller tuned at six multiples of the fundamental frequency of the network ($6{\omega}_s$) are performed to compensate the harmonics in the distorted source. Meanwhile, a PI controller and three resonant controllers tuned at $6n{\omega}_s$(n=1, 2, 3) are designed in the shunt APF control scheme to mitigate the harmonic currents produced by nonlinear loads. The performance of the proposed UPQC is significantly improved when compared to that of the conventional control strategy thanks to the effective design of the resonant controllers. The feasibility of the proposed UPQC control scheme is validated through simulation and experimental results.

다중 폴딩 스너버 망에 의한 새로운 펄스 폭 변조 의사 공진형 컨버터 (A New Soft Recovery Quasi-Resonance Pulse Width Modulating Boost Converter with Multiple Order Folding Snubber Network)

  • 다중 폴딩 스너버 망(folding snubber network)에 의하여 동작되는 새로운 형태의 영전압 영전류 스위칭 의사 공진형 컨버터를 제안한다. 이 새로운 컨버터는 기존의 의사 공진형 컨버터에 수동소자인 케패시턴스와 다이오드로 구성된 폴딩 스너버 망(folding snubber network)을 결합하여 구성된다. 컨버터의 주 정류 다이오드의 역 회복 손실(reverse recovery loss)은 다중공진 기법으로 억제된다. 이 제안된 컨버터는 매우 높은 효율을 구현하므로 고 출력에 매우 적합하다. 이 개념을 다른 컨버터에도 적용시켜 새로운 소프트 스위칭 의사 공진형 컨버터(soft switching quasi-resonance converter) 군을 할 수 있다.

대역 통과 도파관 여파기 설계를 위한 이중 공진 아이리스 해석 (The Analysis of Dual Resonant Iris for Designing Waveguide Band-Pass Filter)

  • 본 논문에서는 도파관 여파기 설계에 유용한 이중 공진 구조를 제안하였다. 본 구조는 리지가 있는 원형 개구와 네 개의 팔(arm)을 갖는 사각형 도체 패치가 결합된 아이리스 형태로서 한 개의 통과 대역과 그 양쪽에 두개의 저지 대역이 동시에 나타나는 이중 공진 특성을 갖는다. 이러한 공진 특성은 LC-병렬 공진 회로와 직렬 공진 회로가 결합된 등가 회로를 통하여 잘 설명되고, 구조의 파라미터를 조정하여 쉽게 조절할 수 있다. 실제 구조는 마이크로스트립을 에칭하여 도파관의 단면에 삽입하기 쉬운 아이리스 형태로 구현되었다. WR-90 규격의 도파관 및 어댑터, VNA를 사용하여 이 공진 구조의 투과 특성을 측정하였다. 제안된 구조의 이중 공진 특성은 도파관 여파기 설계 및 스커트 특성 개선에 유용할 것으로 기대된다.

  • 본 논문에서는 Compact Microstrip Resonant Cell을 이용하여 새로운 방법으로 선형성을 개선시킨 전력증폭기를 설계하였다. 전력증폭기의 입력단에 CMRC를 적용하였고, 입력단과 출력단에 각각 Tuning Line을 달아서 조정을 한 결과 기존의 전력증폭기보다 현저한 선형성을 보였다. 그 결과 CMRC를 적용한 전력증폭기는 기존의 전력증폭기보다 3차 IMD가 14.77 dB 만큼 개선되었다. CMRC의 크기는 $17.1\times5.22mm$이다.

  • The clamp mode Zero-Volatge-Switched Multi-Resonant-Converter(ZVS-MRC) is proposed. In the converter, the performance of the conventional ZVS-MRC is improved by clamping the drain-to-source voltage of the power switch using a soft switching nondissipative active clamp network. The analysis for each stage of the converter operation modes is presented and is verified by experiments.

  • The alternated forward multi resonant converter (AT forward MRC) is studied on the transient response and the measured loop gain for stability. The compensator is composed of the error amplifier with 3 poles and 2 zeros. This is optimized through the experiment with HP4194A network analyzer. We are initiated by the thinking of how to make the stabilization from the experimental results of loop gain curves. The loop gain, low frequency gain and gain margin are more improved through the experimental considerations. Also, the transient response is more enhanced effectively.

Investigation of a SP/S Resonant Compensation Network Based IPT System with Optimized Circular Pads for Electric Vehicles

  • Inductive power transfer (IPT) systems have become increasingly popular in recharging electric vehicle (EV) batteries. This paper presents an investigation of a series parallel/series (SP/S) resonant compensation network based IPT system for EVs with further optimized circular pads (CPs). After the further optimization, the magnetic coupling coefficient and power transfer capacity of the CPs are significantly improved. In this system, based on a series compensation network on the secondary side, the constant output voltage, utilizing a simple yet effective control method (fixed-frequency control), is realized for the receiving terminal at a settled relative position under different load conditions. In addition, with a SP compensation network on the primary side, zero voltage switching (ZVS) of the inverter is universally achieved. Simulations and experiments have been implemented to validate the favorable applicability of the modified optimization of CPs and the proposed SP/S IPT system.

A Novel Soft-Switching Full-Bridge PWM Converter with an Energy Recovery Circuit

  • This paper proposes a new phase-shift full-bridge DC-DC converter by applying energy recovery circuits to a conventional full-bridge DC-DC converter in plasma display panel applications. The converter can achieve soft-switching in main-switches by an extra auxiliary resonant network even with the wide operating condition of both output load and input voltage. The un-coupled design guidelines to the main bridge-leg component parameters for soft-switching operation contribute to conduction loss reduction in the transformer primary side leading to efficiency improvement. The auxiliary switches in the resonant network also operate in zero-current switching. This paper analyzes the operation modes of the proposed scheme and presents the key design guidelines through steady state analysis. Also, the paper verifies the validity of the circuits by hardware experiments with a 1kW DC/DC converter prototype.
