Various materials and restorative options have been introduced recently with growing interest in esthetic dental treatment in modern society. Zirconia is especially known for its biocompatibility as well as remarkable toughness and resistance to wear, but it is limited in its use for esthetically focused treatment in anterior region for its white opacity. Lately the development of different kinds of zirconium blocks, such as colored block, clear block, and multi-layered block, allowed more extensive use of zirconia as a treatment option. This report describes a case, in which a prosthetic crown maxillary anterior region was stained with a combination of various coloring liquids before sintering to reproduce natural-looking color scheme in final restoration. The case was reported as the utilization of coloring liquid on monolithic zirconia crown could achieve esthetically satisfying prosthesis for both dentist and patient.

High-Manganese (Mn) austenitic steel, with over 24 wt% Mn content, offers outstanding mechanical properties in cryogenic settings, making it a potential replacement for existing cryogenic materials. This high manganese steel exhibits high strength, ductility, and wear resistance, making it promising for applications like LNG tanks, flanges, and valves. To operate in cryogenic environments, hot forging and heat treatment processes are vital, especially in flange production. The cooling rate during high-temperature cooling after hot forging plays a critical role in influencing the microstructure and mechanical properties of high manganese steel. The rate at which cooling occurs during this process influences the size of the grains and the distribution of manganese and consequently has an impact on mechanical properties. This study assessed the microstructure and mechanical properties based on different cooling rates during the hot forging of High-Mn steel flanges. Comparing air and water cooling after hot forging, followed by heat treatment, revealed notable differences in grain size. These differences directly impacted mechanical properties such as tensile strength, hardness, and Charpy impact property. Understanding these effects is crucial for optimizing the performance and reliability of High-Mn steel in cryogenic applications.
There is the uncertain period of the construction in case of the products meeting the quality standard of KS M 6080, the quality is degraded because of the abrasive loss of the paint caused by vehicle tires as the traffic amount increases and of the loss and detachment of the glass beads providing the retroreflective function. The abrupt degradation of visibility causes the high frequency of traffic accidents at night and increases the traffic accident rate. Additional supplementary construction induces the direct material and construction costs. As the more cost induction effect than the direct cost, the traffic jam caused by the additional construction increases the indirect social costs such as time cost and vehicle cost. Hence, the study is concerned with performing the abrasion resistance test based on the EN 1436 standard to check and improve the quality of various road marking materials resulting in improving the durability of road marking materials. However, even though the difference in the durability lifetime of resins(binders) is bibliographically or theoretically clear, there was no difference in the durability lifetime (retroreflectivity aspect) of the road marking paint using these binders. The reason is that the bonding of beads was very insufficient or that the cross density caused by crack or freshness was low. Moreover, the measured wet retroreflectivity was distributed as the Rw3 or higher class in average on the basis of EN 1436 but was very insufficient on the basis of the minimum wet threshold retroreflectivity with 100mcd/($m^2{\cdot}lx$) managed overseas.
In this study, Material life cycle evaluation was performed to analyze the environmental impact characteristics of TiN-Zr membrane manufacturing process. The software of MLCA was Gabi. Through this, environmental impact assessment was performed for each process. Transition metal nitrides have been researched extensively because of their properties. Among these, TiN has the most attention. TiN is a ceramic materials which possess the good combination of physical and chemical properties, such as high melting point, high hardness, and relatively low specific gravity, high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. With these properties, TiN plays an important role in functional materials for application in separation hydrogen from fossil fuel. Precursor TiN was synthesized by sol-gel method and zirconium was coated by ball mill method. The metallurgical, physical and thermodynamic characteristics of the membranes were analyzed by using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Energy Dispersive X-ray (EDS), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Thermo Gravimetry/Differential Thermal Analysis (TG/DTA), Brunauer, Emmett, Teller (BET) and Gas Chromatograph System (GP). As a result of characterization and normalization, environmental impacts were 94% in MAETP (Marine Aquatic Ecotoxicity), 2% FAETP (Freshwater Aquatic Ecotoxicity), 2% HTP (Human Toxicity Potential). TiN fabrication process appears to have a direct or indirect impact on the human body. It is believed that the greatest impact that HTP can have on human is the carcinogenic properties. This shows that electricity use has a great influence on ecosystem impact. TiN-Zr was analyzed in Eco-Indicator '99 (EI99) and CML 2001 methodology.

Materials for posterior teeth includes amalgam, gold inlay and composite resin inlay. Amalgam and gold inlay have unsatisfyine esthetics. And because they simply obturate the cavity preparation, they do not strengthen the remaining tooth structure. Posterior composite resin has become established in recent years. However, its polymerization shrinkage and insufficient wear resistance were the most undesirable characteristic. The physical and mechanical properties of the composite resin inlay are further improved through heat treatment in an oven. The major part of polymerization contraction of the resin inlay takes place be fore cementation, and possible gap formation is only due to shrinkage of the thin layer of resin cement. With the semidirect technique, the inlay material is placed directly in the prepared tooth, and the primary polymerization is made by light activation with a handhold curing unit. Additional curing may take place extraorally with use of different curing ovens. It provides the patient with the benefits of luted restorations without the procedure of indirect lab-made inlay. I report three successfully treated cases by semidirect resin inlay technique. Entire clinical steps are described in detail with some discussions on the outcome.
Surface alloying using TiC, $TiB_2$ and VC ceramic particles on carbon steel has been performed using high voltage electron beam. Each type of ceramic particles was mixed with flux of Al and $MgF_2$ in 1 to 4 ratio. The microstructures of the surface alloyed layers consisted of melted region, interface region. heat affected region and the unaffected matrix. The surface layer of the TiC surface alloyed had a cubed primary and a eutectic type of TiC. $TiB_2$ in surface layer of $TiB_2$ surface alloyed were incompletely melted with$ TiB_2$ particles as observed before the alloying. On the surface layer of the VC surface alloyed, very well defined cell structure was observed with VC on the cell boundary. In addition, ~50 nm in diameter VC particles in high density were ubiquitous in the matrix. Those fine VC particles prominently improved the hardness and wear resistance of the surface layer of the VC surface alloyed.
Titanium carbonitride is more perspective materials compared to titanium carbide. It can be used in tool industry and special products because of its higher strength, abrasive wear-resistance and especially its strong chemical stability at high temperatures. We produced STS+TiCxNy composite by the spark plasma sintering for higher strength and studied the characteristics. The planar and cross-sectional microstructures of the specimens were observed by scanning electron microscopy. Characterizations of the carbon and nitride phases on the surface of composite were carried out using an X-ray diffractometer. During annealing TiCxNy particles diffusion into STS 430 was observed. After annealing, sintering isolations between particles were formed. It causes decreasing of mechanical strength. In addition when annealing temperature was increased hardness increased. Heterogeneous distribution of alloying elements particles was observed. After annealing composites, highest value of hardness was 738.1 MHV.
Studied on the changes of physical properties according to frequency of washing of sample such as cotton, ramie, wool, cotton knit, T/C. The results are as follows :1. The tensile strength in cotton, wool, and T/C was not changed by 5 times washing but in cotten knit was increased because hang-down phenomenon. 2.The crease resistance of cellulose fiber was decreased by repeated washing. In the case of wool, That was decreased considerably because of decreasing of elasticity and increasing of density caused by shrinking after washing. 3.The abrasion strength of wool was increased with increase in frequency of washing because of thickness caused by shrinking. 4.By repeated washing, the pills was generated in all of the samples and quantity of pills was increased with increase in frequency of washing, the pills was generated in all of the samples and quantity of pills was increased with increased in frequency of washing. Specially, in the case of cotton knit and wool, the pilling was remarkable. 5.The physical properties of dry cleaned wool was superior than that of wet cleaned wool.
