FR-4 composite 기판의 성부 구성비에 따른 광대역 유전상수 모델 및 전송 특성 해석 (Wideband dielectric modeling and transmission analysis of FR-4 composite substrate with different composition ratio)

  • In this paper, we modeled the complex dielectric constant and analyzed the projpagation characteristics of a FR-4 composite substrate with different compositions. From the wideband dielectric modeling and the propagation loss analysis of FR-4 composites that consists of FR-4 resin and E-glass reinforcement,we have found that the propagation loss and velocity increase with the volume fraction of FR-4 resin above 1 GHz. These results are helpful in determining to deisgn optimum substrate composition ratio and cross-sectional geometry of high-speed and high-density transmission line.

Occupational Dose Analysis of Spent Resin Handling Accident During NPP Decommissioning

  • According to NSSC Notice No. 2021-10, safety analysis needs to be introduced in the decommissioning plan. Public and occupational dose analyses should be conducted, specifically for unexpected radiological accidents. Herein, based on the risk matrix and analytic hierarchy process, the method of selecting accident scenarios during the decommissioning of nuclear power plants has been proposed. During decommissioning, the generated spent resin exhibits relatively higher activity than other generated wastes. When accidents occur, the release fraction varies depending on the conditioning method of radioactive waste and type of radioactive nuclides or accidents. Occupational dose analyses for 2 (fire and drop) among 11 accident scenarios have been performed. The radiation doses of the additional exposures caused by the fire and drop accidents are 1.67 and 4.77 mSv, respectively.

Antioxidant, Antimicrobial, and Antitumor Activities of Partially Purified Substance(s) from Green Tea Seed

  • The aim of this study is to evaluate the antioxidant, antimicrobial, and antitumor activities of various concentrations of partially purified substance(s) from green tea seed (Camellia sinensis L.). The total polyphenol contents of each fraction (non-adsorption fraction: F-1, fraction eluted with 40% methanol: F-2, and fraction eluted with 100% methanol: F-3) purified by Diaion HP-20 column chromatography were, in the increasing order: F-1 (3.7 mg tannic acid equivalents, TAB/g) < F-3 (23.2 mg TAB/g) < seed extracts (26.2 mg TAB/g) < F-2 (42.7 mg TAB/g). The scavenging activities toward the 1,1-diphenyl-2-picyrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical were, in decreasing order: F-2 (93.3%) > butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT; 89.8%) > ascorbic acid (89.3%) > leaf extracts (70.3%) > F-3 (15.9%) > seed extracts (15.8%) > F-1 (14.8%) at a 0.1% concentration. In studies on antimicrobial activities, the results indicate that the growth of yeast (Candida albicans KCCM 11282 and Cryptococcus neoformans KCCM 50544) was inhibited more so than that of other fungi (Alternaria alternate KCTC 6005 and Rhizoctonia solani). In addition, it appears that the antitumor activities of the F-1, F-2, and F-3 fractions at a concentration of $50\;{\mu}g/mL$ showed 6, 7, and 23% growth inhibition of the HEC-1B cell line, 14, 11, 82% inhibition of the HEP-2 cell line, and 8, 16, and 81% inhibition of the SK-OV-3 cell line, respectively. Overall these results indicate that the antioxidant activity is greatest in the F-2 fraction, and the antimicrobial and antitumor activities are greatest in the F-3 fraction.

  • 진공가압함침공정(Vacuum Pressure Impregnation, VPI)은 발전기, 전동기 등 대형 회전기에 사용되는 고정자 권선에 에폭시 계열의 레진을 코팅시켜 물성을 강화하는 공정이다. VPI 공정 중 진공과 가압과정에서 에폭시 레진의 기화에 의해 레진 가스가 발생하고, 함침공정이 끝나고 경화를 위해 탱크 개방 시 레진 가스가 제거되지 않고 탱크 밖으로 유출된다. 유출된 레진 가스가 작업장 전체에 확산 시 화재, 폭발 및 호흡기 문제와 같은 안전 환경 문제가 있으므로 공정 내 레진 가스 배출시스템이 필요하다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 VPI 공정에서 발생한 레진 가스를 배출하는 시스템을 설계하기 위해 전산유체역학(Computational Fluid Dynamics, CFD)을 이용하여 공기 유입구·배출구의 위치에 따른 배출효율에 대한 사례연구를 진행하였다. 본 연구의 최적의 배출시스템을 활용 시 1,800초 이내 90%이상의 레진 가스를 배출할 수 있으며, 레진 가스의 폭발하한계(Low Explosive Limit, LEL)이하로 레진 가스의 분율을 낮출 수 있었다.

Paeparation and Properties of Epoxy Copolymers Containing Oxime-urethane Groups as Photobase Generators

  • Epoxy copolymers containing oxime urethane groups were prepared by the polymerization of glycidyl methacrylate and N-[5-(benzophenoneoximinocarbonylamino)pentanyl]maleimide (BOPM). Their physical properties were characterized by GPC, DSC and TGA analyses. Photochemical changes of the copolymers were studied by UV, IR spectroscopy, and contact angle measurements. A photoinduced cross-linking reaction in copolymer films was observed by measuring the insoluble fraction. Irradiation of the copolymers at 254 nm UV light leads to the formation of pendant amino groups by photodissociation of the oxime-urethane groups. Treatment of the amino groups with HCl resulted in the formation of ammonium salts, which changed the polymer surface to be hydrophilic. An insoluble fraction of the copolymers increased with irradiation time, heating time, and heating temperature. Cross-linking of the epoxy resin effectively catalyzed by the photogenerated pendant amines upon heating.

  • Target transformation factor analysis is applied to analyze the components of unresolved fraction in the elution curve of La, Pr and Gd which is obtained using the chelate agent- impregnated resin and 0.7 M hydrochloric acid as an eluent. We determined the number of components contributing to the unresolved fractions and verified the presence of suspected components.

  • A series of reaction-sintered SiC was fabricated from preforms with varying volume fractions of two resin-coated SiC particles of different sizes (63 and $18{\mu}m$). The electrical resistivity and mechanical strength were eventually optimized at the small particle volume fraction of $0.3{\sim}0.4$, at which point the porosity of the preform was minimized. This study experimentally proves that additional processes after the formation of the preform, such as silicon infiltration and reaction sintering, do not apparently alter the optimum volume fraction of the preform packing, predicted by an existing analytical model based on solid packing. Thus, the volume fraction of particles of different sizes can be determined practically through the solid packing model to fabricate RSSCs with optimal properties.

Speciation of Arsenic from Soil Organic Matter in Abandoned Gold and Silver Mines, Korea

  • Organic forms of arsenic (As) were determined through fractionation procedure of soil organic matter (SOM) in soil, sediments and mine tailing samples from the Myungbong, Dongil, and Okdong mining areas of southern Korea. An alkaline extraction method was applied to soil samples followed by the fractionation procedures of SOM by the DAX-8 and XAD-4 resin adsorption method. Major fraction of organic As species (42% to 98%) was found in acid-soluble fraction, whereas minor fraction (0.1 % to 67.8%) was present in the humic-associated As. In acid-soluble fractions, the transphillic- and hydrophilic-associated As were dominant in addition to As binding with humic and fulvic SOM. Arsenic binding was the strongest between pH 6 to 8 and reduced to about 70% at both low and high pH regions. The amount of both transphillic and hydrophillic associated As was less changed than humic and fulvic-associated As, in both low and high pH regions. This apparently indicates that As has stronger affinity towards hydrophillic rather than hydrophobic organics. From the experimental observation of As-binding SOM in natural soil, the ligand exchange model may be a feasible explanation of transphillic and hydrophillic affinity of As.

사출성형용 열가소성 펠렛을 이용한 탄소섬유 복합소재 제작에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Production of Carbon Fiber Composites using Injection-molding Grade Thermoplastic Pellets)

  • A manufacturing technology of carbon fiber composites with thermoplastic polymer pellets and continuous woven fiber was investigated using a compression molding process. To secure the impregnation of resin into the porosity of fabric the composite specimens were prepared with general injection-molding grade polypropylene pellets and low viscosity polycarbonate pellets. Tensile tests of polypropylene and polycarbonate composites were performed. Polycarbonate composites showed higher fracture strength than that of polypropylene composites because of the difference of matrix properties. However, the increase rate of strength was lower than that of polypropylene composites due to the difference of coherence between matrix and reinforcement. To investigate the effect of carbon fiber volume fraction on the fracture strength variation polypropylene composites with different volume fraction were compression molded and tensile tests were performed together. It was shown that the fracture strength of the polypropylene composites increased by 3.2, 5.4 and 6.9 times with the increase of carbon fabric volume fraction of 0.256, 0.367, and 0.480, respectively.

글라스버블/에폭시 수지 접착부의 극저온 압축 동적 성능 (Compression Dynamic Performance of Glass Bubble/Epoxy Resin Adhesion)

  • LNG 운반선의 슬로싱 충격하중은 LNG 화물창 내 단열시스템의 파손을 야기하는 주원인이다. 단열시스템의 파손은 LNG 화물창 내 극저온을 유지시키는 데 치명적으로 작용하게 된다. 극저온을 유지하기 위해서는 단열재료의 성능 강화가 가장 전형적인 방법이다. 일반적으로 LNG 화물창 내의 단열재료는 폴리우레탄 폼과 플라이우드, 이 두 재료를 접합시키기 위한 접착제가 사용된다. 본 연구에서는 단열시스템에 채용되는 단열재료를 강화하기 위한 일환으로 글라스 버블/에폭시 복합수지를 제작하여 충격 하중이 작용할 때 재료의 흡수에너지를 향상시켰다. 실험 시나리오는 글라스버블의 첨가량, 온도의 영향성을 분석하기 위한 상온 및 극저온 환경을 고려하여 자유낙하 실험을 수행하였다. 실험 결과는 글라스 버블 첨가량이 20 wt.%에 도달할 경우 극저온 흡수에너지가 최대의 성능이 나타나는 것을 확인하였다. 반면에 상온 흡수에너지는 첨가량 0 wt.%에서 최대 성능을 보였다. 글라스버블/에폭시 수지의 혼합성능의 경우 첨가량이 20 wt.%가 되면 교반성능 저하로 인하여 응집현상이 발생하여, 접착성능이 떨어질 것으로 판단된다.
