Little empirical study has been conducted concerning family resilience of family of children with disabilities. The purpose of this study is to examine the variables that may influence the level of family resilience and family resilience level of family of children with disabilities. This study used the sampled of 363 family of children with disabilities selected from 17 community rehabilitation centers. The measurement of family resilience composed of the base of Walsh(1998)'s theory. And using confirmatory factor analysis, it was confirmed that the scale has three factor such as belief system, organizational pattern and communication process. This study showed that using 5 points scale, mean of belief system is 3.62. And mean of organizational pattern is 3.38 and mean of communication process is 3.73. In identifying predictor of the family resilience, this study used variables from the following aspects: perspective of disability of children, intra-aspect of family, extra-aspect of family. Using Regression analysis, it was found that attitude of family of disability and spouse relationship influenced all sub-aspect of family resilience. Specially, helping of professional influenced belief system, accept of disability influenced organizational pattern. And positive expectation of family of disability influenced communication process. This finding give us significant practical implications for social work intervention & the direction of future research in family resilience.
The vehicle has lots of embedded systems. Each of systems has its own role. In case of the vehicle, simple failure of system can be critical to driver. Therefore all of embedded system should be managed based on importance factors to be effective. In this paper, we consider the resilience as the importance factor for the driving system with ACC(Adaptive Cruise Control). We propose metrics to calculate the resilience of the embedded system. To get the resilience of system, we calculate the reliability and the resilience of nodes in the system using its failure rate. The resilience of whole system can be presented by the resilience of nodes and its weight. We calculate the resilience and compare the centralized structure and the distributed structure.
This study aimed to verify the mediating effects of cognitive function and social support and to establish a structural relationship between child maltreatment and resilience in school-age children (n=357) taken in by child protection service. In the first model (linear arrangement), each protective factor mediates independently between maltreatment and resilience; in the second model (arrangement in due order), cognitive function has mediating effects prior to social support. Analysis of data included descriptive statistics, Cronbach's a, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation modeling. Results of the first model showed indirect effects of cognitive function and social support. Results of the second model significantly affirmed that the mediators, cognitive function and social support, diminish negative effects of maltreatment by bolstering resilience.

Objectives Psychological resilience plays a significant role in many aspects of mental health. The aim of this study was to find an association between childhood attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) features and adulthood psychological resilience in patients with mood disorders. Methods A total of 213 patients with mood disorders including major depressive disorder or bipolar I, II disorder and 909 healthy controls were included. We assessed childhood ADHD features using the Wender Utah Rating Scale (WURS), adulthood psychological resilience using the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC), and current depressive mood using the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). Pearson's correlation, multiple linear regression and a mediation analyses were performed to examine the relationships between three WURS factor (impulsivity, inattention, and mood instability) scores, the BDI score, and the CD-RISC score. Results The CD-RISC score was negatively correlated with the WURS childhood inattention factor score and current BDI score in patients with mood disorders. BDI score mediated the influence of the inattention factor score on CD-RISC score among patients with mood disorders. The CD-RISC score was significantly lower in patients with mood disorders than in controls even after controlling for age, WURS scores, and the BDI score. Conclusions An evaluation of psychological resilience is important for enhancing recovery and quality of life in patients with mood disorders. When assessing psychological resilience, current depression and ADHD features in childhood, particularly inattention, should be considered.
This study investigates the effect of recovery elasticity of beauty college students on university life adaptation during COVID-19. Further, the mediating effect of grit in relation to recovery elasticity and university life adaptation is analyzed. Survey data of 223 students (female: 192; male: 31) were collected for multiple and intermediate regression analyses using SPSS 24.0. The results reveal a static correlation between the lower factors of resilience, glittery, and adaptation to college life and that the resilience of junior college students in the beauty department had a static effect on grit and their adaptation to college life. Passion, a subordinate factor of grit, is mediated by the effect of grit on the relationship between resilience and adaptation to university life. However, perseverance, another subordinate factor of grit, did not have any such mediating effect. These results confirm the importance of grit, particularly passion, for resilience and adaptation to college life. It was confirmed that resilience was due to college life adaptation of beauty department students, and it was confirmed that passion, a sub-factor of grit, also had a mediating effect. Therefore, it is judged that resilience induces physical and mental adaptation, interpersonal adaptation, and academic adaptation necessary for college life, and works in many ways to improve the quality of life of beauty department junior college students. Instructors should consider developing educational programs for improving recovery elasticity and grit to help students better adapt to university life.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a Cardiovascular Disease Resilience (CDR) scale to evaluate disease specific resilience for recovery. Methods: The study was conducted as follows: items generation, and test of validity and reliability. Items were developed via literature review, review of instruments, and data acquired from the interviews. In order to test validity and reliability, seven panels of experts reviewed the preliminary questionnaire and then data were collected from 550 cardiovascular disease patients. Factor analysis, Pearson correlation, ANOVA, and Cronbach's alpha were used to analyze the data. Results: In the preliminary stage, forty-four items were generated. A reduction to 40 items was accomplished through content validity analysis. Factor analysis extracted 7 factors with a total of 25 items. The CDR items were moderately correlated with the subscales of the CD-RISC (Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale) and the mean score of CDR was associated with quality of life measured with CD-QOL (Cardiovascular Disease Quality of Life). Cronbach's ${\alpha}$=.84. Conclusion: Content validity, construct validity, criterion validity, and reliability of the CDR were established. The CDR is a reliable and valid instrument which the resilience of cardiovascular disease specific recovery state can be evaluated.
The focus of this study was finding out the relations among resilience of children separated from parents, child rearing factors and socio-emotional adjustment in Korean and Yanbian Korean-Chinese regions. Subjects were elementary school $5{\sim}6$ graders separated from their parents(184 in Korea and 81 in Yanbian). Data analysis was by Pearson's r, F-test and t-test. Resilience of Korean-Chinese children was higher than that of Korean children. Caregivers' child rearing behavioral factor than other child rearing factors was significant for children's resilience, and especially for Korean children, caregivers' child rearing psychological factor -efficacy and stress variables- were meaningful. Socio-emotional adjustment was significantly different between resilience high and low groups in both regions. Implications are that regional differences, caregivers' psychological and behavioral child rearing factors should be considered in supporting the development of children's resilience and socio-emotional adjustment.
Objectives: The major purpose of the study is to examine structural relation among teenager's perception of parenting attitudes, peer attachment, resilience and meaning in life. In order to achieve purpose of the study, we will develop reliable criterion which can measure variable. Method: We will set up structural relational model from relationship between internal and external variables that can influence teenager's meaning in life and we will examine the relationship between variables through structural equation analysis. we will find structural relationship among parenting attitudes, peer attachment, resilience and meaning in life. Results: We analyzed structural relationship among variables targeting 744 middle school and high school students. Teenager's perception of parenting attitudes have positive influence on peer attachment. This shows that teenager perception of fostering attitude have a positive influence even though teenager percepts parent's foster attitude as overprotective or compassionate. However, if teenager percept fostering attitude as overprotective, teenager perception of parenting attitudes doesn't have influence on resilience. Parent's compassionate attitude not only directly influence resilience but also influence resilience through peer attachment. This validates that individual psychological factor, such as how teenager accept and interpret surrounding environment can influence resilience. Peer attachment relationship not only directly influence resilience but also influence meaning of life through resilience. The resilience has direct effect on meaning in life. Conclusions: When one of education goal is to help teenager to find meaning in life and to reach self-realization, We need to have interest in resilience which is known factor for contributing meaning in life. As previous teenager studies has approached this problem, such as maladjustment, delinquency, and depression, it is significant that this study is examined in positive a psychological perspective which focus on healthy adjustment, such as meaning in life based on teenager's resilience and happiness.
