강원지역 계분 퇴비공장 인근 토양, 하천수 및 저질토의 항생물질 잔류특성 조사 (Environmental Monitoring of Selected Veterinary Antibiotics in Soils, Sediments and Water Adjacent to a Poultry Manure Composting Facility in Gangwon Province, Korea)

  • 축산용 항생물질은 동물의 질병예방, 치료와 더불어 성장촉진 및 사료효율 증대를 위한 목적으로 널리 사용되고 있다. 우리나라에서 사용되는 항생물질의 가축 사육수 당 사용량은 선진국에 비해 매우 높으며 이로 인해 환경 내로 유입될 가능성이 상대적으로 높다. 특히 환경으로 유입된 항생물질은 내성 박테리아의 유발 등 여러 가지 환경적 문제를 야기할 수 있어 이에 대한 연구가 요구된다. 이에 본 연구는 국내 대규모 계분 처리시설을 중심으로 주변의 농경지 토양, 하천수 및 저질토 등으로의 환경 유출 가능성이 높은 항생물질 4가지 계열(tetracyclines[TCs], sulfonamides[SAs], macrolides[MLs], inopohores[IPs])을 대상으로 환경요소 내의 잔류 특성을 조사하였다. 연구결과 환경으로 유입된 TCs 항생물질은 일반적으로 토양 양이온과 흡착하여 안정화 되는 경향을 보였다. 우리나라에서 사용량이 가장 높은 TCs의 tetracycline(TC)가 토양, 하천수 및 저질토에서 50% 이상의 검출비율을 보였으며 최대 35.6 ${\mu}g/kg$까지 검출되었다. 반면 SAs 계열은 높은 이동성을 보였으며 연구지역 특성상 잔류 농도는 상대적으로 낮았지만 수질 시료 중 검출비율이 86.7~93.3%으로 다른 항생물질보다 높았다. IPs 중 monensin(MNS)는 양계용 사료에 많이 사용된다고 알려진 바와 같이 토양 중 최대 6.9 ${\mu}g/kg$으로 높은 수치 를 보였다. MLs의 tylosin(TYL)은 토양과 저질토에서 최대 농도가 각각 16.6 ${\mu}g/kg$, 114.3 ${\mu}g/kg$로 저질토에 흡착되어 잔류하는 특성이 강했다.

Efficacy and safety of norfloxacin for the control of bacterial diseases in eel (Anguilla japonica)

  • A study on quinolone antibacterial, norfloxacin, was performed to apply for the control of bacterial diseases in eel (Anguilla japonica). Norfloxacin was proved excellent in antibacterial activity and sensitivity against fish bacterial pathogens when compared with the existing antibacterials and antibiotics. And any side effect was not observed during the period of indicated use. An outline of minimal inhibitory concentration was $0.03{\sim}0.1{\mu}g/ml$, $TLm_{48h}$ value was 3,500mg/l. The residual time of the day in fish body was less than 17 days and any pathological changes were not observed. The study has revealed that norfloxacin can be applied to treat some fish bacterial disease by the dosage of 100g/day/ton of fish body weight for about 3 days perorally. Further, norfloxacin may be used for the control of bacterial pathogens in eel.

Photocatalytic Degradation and Adsorptive Removal of Tetracycline on Amine-Functionalized Graphene Oxide/ZnO Nanocomposites

  • Due to the rapid development of the livestock industry, particularly due to residual pharmaceutical antibiotics, environmental populations have been negatively affected. Herein, we report a ZnO/melamine-functionalized carboxylic-rich graphene oxide (ZFG) photocatalyst for visible light-driven photocatalytic degradation of tetracycline hydrochloride in aqueous solutions. The properties of the photocatalysts were evaluated by XRD, FTIR, XPS, Fe-SEM, HR-TEM, TGA, Raman spectroscopy, UV-Vis spectroscopy, zeta potential, and electrochemical measurements. The photocatalytic activity was measured using high-performance liquid chromatography. The photocatalytic properties of the ZFG photocatalyst evaluated against the tetracycline hydrochloride (TCH) antibiotic under visible light irradiation showed superior photodegradation of 96.27% within 60 min at an initial pH of 11. The enhancement of photocatalytic degradation was due to the introduction of functionalized graphene, which increases the light-harvesting capability and molecular adsorption capability in addition to minimizing the recombination rate of photogenerated charge carriers due to its role as an electron acceptor and mediator.

소아 원위지골 기저부에서 발생한 Seymour씨 골절의 치험례 (Seymour's Fracture of the Base of the Distal Phalanx in a Child)

  • Purpose: Prior to closure of the epiphysis of the distal phalanx, fracture usually occurs through the growth plate, Salter-Harris type I or II, or through the juxtaepiphyseal region 1 to 2 mm distal to the growth plate. The terminal tendon of extensor inserts into the epiphysis only, while insertion site of the flexor digitorum profundus spans both the epiphysis and metaphysis. Because of the difference between these tendon insertions, this injury mimics a mallet deformity. But, this type of injury does not involve a tear or avulsion of the extensor, unlike mallet finger of adults. Seymour was the first to describe this type of injury in children and called after his name, Seymour's fracture. This fracture is prone to infection or remain the residual deformity unless adequate treatment. Methods: We report a case of Seymour's fracture. A 9-year-old boy presented a laceration of the nail matrix, with the nail lies degloved from the nail fold on the right middle finger gotten from an impact against a door. An X-ray examination showed the fracture line lying 1 mm distal to the growth plate. The injury was treated with debridement and the fracture was reduced by applying hyperextension force. Under the C-arm, a single 0.7 mm K-wire was used to immobilize the distal interphalangeal joint. Intravenous antibiotics were applied for 5 days after surgery. Results: The K-wire was removed in the 3rd week. No infection or significant deformity was found until follow-up of 12 months. Conclusions: Seymour's fracture may be at first classically mallet deformity by its appearance. But it is anatomically different and more problematic injury. If it isn't corrected at the time of injury, derangement of the extensor mechanism, and growth deformity of the distal phalanx may occur. The fracture site should be debrided, removed of any interposed soft tissue, and the patient should be given appropriate antibiotics. Reduction should be maintained by K-wire fixation. We experienced no infection or premature epiphyseal closure.

치료된 폐농양환자의 폐실질 병변의 분석 (Analysis of Lung Parenchymal Sequelae Following Treatment for Lung Abscess)

  • Background: Lung abscess is necrosis of the pulmonary parenchyma caused by microbial infection. At present, clinical outcomes after treatment are good. However, the pulmonary parenchymal changes on the chest computed tomography (CT) after treatment are not well known. We studied the changes of pulmonary parenchyma on plane chest radiography and chest CT in patients with lung abscess following the administration of antibiotics. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 39 patients who had lung abscess with or without combined pneumonia from January 2006 to July 2010. We studied the therapeutic response in plane chest radiography of them at 1, 2, or more than 3 months following treatment. If any chest CT of them during the study period, we reviewed. Results: Mean age of the patients was about $61.3{\pm}11.2$. Mean duration of antibiotics administration was about $36.7{\pm}26.8$ days. After 3 months of following plane chest radiography, 10 patients (36%) showed without residual sequelae among 28 patients. Findings from other patients showed decrease in densities (11 patients, 39%), fibrostreaky sequelae (4 patients, 14%) and bullae (3 patients, 10%). After more than 2 months, chest CT was checked only in 7 patients. Among the 7 patients, 4 patients showed no residual lesion, 3 patients showed decreased densities on plane chest radiography. Chest CT revealed fibrostreaky densities in 2 patients, ground glass opacities in 3 patients, bullous formation in 1 patient, and cystic bronchiectasis in 1 patient. Conclusion: After more than 2 months following treatment for lung abscess even though there were no lesions on plane chest radiography, chest CT showed fibrostreaky or ground glass opacity.

계분을 원료로 한 퇴비의 퇴비화 과정 중 동물용 항생물질 농도저감 (Decline in Extractable Veterinary Antibiotics in Chicken Manure-Based Composts during Composting)

  • Release of veterinary antibiotics (VSs) to agricultural environment through application of animal manure and/or animal manure-based composts to soils is of concern. The current study was conducted to examine decline of VAs during composting the chicken manure. For this, antibiotics free chicken manure (20 kg) and sawdust (10 kg) were added to the bench-scale composting apparatus and then the mixed material was spiked simultaneously with three VAs (chlortetracycline, CTC; sulfamethazine, SMZ; tylosin, TYL) at two different levels (10 and $20mg\;kg^{-1}$). Then the decline of VAs was determined using Charm II system during 53 composting period. For comparison, composting only chicken manure was included at VAs concentration of $10mg\;kg^{-1}$. During composting, the concentration of all three different VAs declined below the prospective guideline values ($0.8mg\;kg^{-1}$ for CTC, $0.2mg\;kg^{-1}$ for SMZ, and $1.0mg\;kg^{-1}$ for TYL) except CTC at $20mg\;kg^{-1}$ spiking when the chicken manure was composted together with sawdust. Interestingly, CTC at $10mg\;kg^{-1}$ spiking appeared to be declined under the guideline value without sawdust while SMZ was resistant to be declined without sawdust. Unlike CTC and SMZ, TYL showed immediate decline right after spiking TYL to composting materials regardless the spiking concentration and existence of sawdust. Appropriate composting procedure of chicken manure was able to decline the residual VAs in the manure below the prospective guideline value and the importance of organic substances on this decline was perceived.

  • T.T.C. Reduction Test에 의한 유즙중(乳汁中)에 잔류(殘留)하는 항생물질(抗生物質)을 검출(檢出)하는데 있어 반응(反應)에 마치는 영향(影響)을 구명(究明)코자 항생제(抗生劑), 세제(洗劑), 소독제(消毒劑)와 pH, 산도(酸度) 및 시험균(試驗菌)의 배양조건(培養條件) 등에 관하여 시험(試驗)한 결과(結果)를 요약(要約)하면 다음과 같다. 1. 각(各) 항생제(抗生劑)에 대한 T. T. C. 반응도(反應度)는 Penicillin계(系)가 0.02~0.05IU로서 가장 예민(銳敏)하였고, Vibramycin, Synthomycin 및 Teramycin을 제외(除外)한 나머지 광역(廣域) 항생제(抗生劑)는 비교적(比較的) 둔(鈍)한 반응(反應)을 나타냈으며, Streptomycin계(系)는 가장 둔감(鈍感)한 반응(反應)을 나타냈다. 2. 세제(洗劑)에 대한 T.T.C. 반응도(反應度)는 Hi-Ti, NaOH 각각(各各0 0.7%, 0.1% 이상(以上)에서 양성반응(陽性反應)을 나타냈다. 3. 소독제(消毒劑)에 대한 T.T.C. 반응도(反應度)는 차아염소산(次亞鹽素酸) Na, 표백분(漂白粉) 및 Harasol은 200~500PPM, Phenol, Cresol 및 Iode-k는 0.15~0.35%의 범위내(範圍內)에서 각각(各各) 양성(陽性) 반응(反應)을 나타냈다. 4. 시험균(試驗菌)의 증식배양온도(增植培養溫度)는 $35{\sim}37^{\circ}C$, 배양시간(培養時間)은 12~18시간배양(時間培養)에서 가장 예민(銳敏)한 반응(反應)을 나타냈다. 5. 시험유(試驗乳)의 pH는 5.0이하(以下)에서, 산도(酸度)는 0.21% 이상(以上)에서 각각(各各) 의양성(疑陽性) 및 양성반응(陽性反應)을 나타냈다.

계분 퇴비화 시설 인근 농경지 토양, 지표수 및 저질토의 계절별 잔류 항생물질 모니터링 (Seasonal Monitoring of Residual Veterinary Antibiotics in Agricultural Soil, Surface Water and Sediment Adjacent to a Poultry Manure Composting Facility)

  • 본 연구는 강원도 원주 지역의 계분 퇴비화 시설 인근의 농경지 토양, 지표수 및 저질토에 대한 TCs계열 3종(TC, CTC 및 OTC), SAs 계열 3종(SMX, STZ 및 SMT), IPs 계열 3종(LSL, MNS 및 SLM) 및 MLs 계열 1종(TYL) 등 총 4개 계열 10종의 항생물질을 선정하여 영농시기 별 잔류특성을 조사하였다. 토양 시료의 경우 TCs가 다른 계열 항생물질과 비교하여 가장 높은 농도로 검출되었으며 이는 TCs 내 케톤기와 토양 내 2가 양이온이 복합체를 형성, 표토에 강하게 흡착되어 심토까지 이동하지 않고 축적된 것으로 추측된다. 반면 TCs와 비교해 토양 내 SAs 잔류량이 낮은 이유는 적은 사용량과 낮은 흡착계수에서 기인된 것으로 판단되었다. 수질시료의 TCs는 집중강우로 인한 토양유실 및 이후 유량 감소로 인해 6월보다 9월에 높은 농도를 보였다. 저질토 내 TCs 농도 증가 이유가 양이온간의 복합체 형성, 이온교환 및 부식산의 수소결합으로 인해 지표수로 유입된 TCs가 저질토로 흡착, 축적되었기 때문으로 판단된다. 본 연구를 통해 계분퇴비 시용시 주변환경으로 높은 농도의 항생물질이 유입될 가능성이 있으며, 이로 인해 토양 내 내성 박테리아 생성 및 생태계 교란뿐만 아니라 직 간접적으로 인간에게 피해가 우려되는 바 지속적인 모니터링을 통한 관리방안 마련이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

소 및 돼지의 정육과 내부장기중의 항생물질 잔류 조사 (Detection of Antibiotic Residues in Meats and Internal Organs of Cattle and Pigs)

  • The purpose of the present survey was to evaluate the antibiotic residues in meats and internal organs such as muscle, liver, heart, kidney and spleen of cattle (n=59) and pigs (n=115). The EEC-4-plate-method were employed. The results were obtained as follows ; 1. In BS 6.0, BS 7.2 and BS 8.0 used as media to detect antibiotic residues, the zone($M{\pm}SD,$ cm) of bacterial growth inhibition was narrow($1.40{\pm}0$) in meats, whereas the zone was wide($1.69{\pm}0.25-1.88{\pm}0.23$ and $1.58{\pm}0.18-1.86{\pm}0.15$ in cattle and pigs, respectively) in internal organs. But in SL 8.0, it was difficult to detect the zones ($0-1.40{\pm}0$) of both meats and internal organs. 2. Residues of antibiotic in beef and pork were rarely detected in BS 6.0, BS 7.2 and BS 8.0 (range 1.7-11.9% and 2.6-4.3%, respectively), whereas residual percentages of internal organs were relatively higher(range 69.5-96.6% and 43.5-84.3%, respectively). But in SL 8.0, it was not detected in both beef or pork, whereas they were 0-13.6% and 0-4.3% in interanal organs.

전국에서 도축된 가축의 잔류검사에서 검출된 잔류물질 비교조사 (Comparison of antibiotic residues detected by the residue tests of slaughtered livestock in Korea)

  • It was carried out to investigate the antibiotic residues detected by the residue tests for edible tissues of slaughtered livestock in Korea from January to November in 2019. Positive cases of qualitative test and analytical test for 11 months were 689 and 341, respectively. Positive cases of analytical test for cattle, pigs, horses and poultry were 164, 168, 2 and 7, respectively. Antibiotics were detected from 472 materials from 341 cases and classified as β-lactams 162 (37.9%), aminoglycosides 141 (33%), quinolones 69 (16.2%), sulfonamides 23 (5.4%), amphenicols 10 (2.3%), tetracyclines 9 (2.1%), macrolides 6 (1.4%) and the rest 7 (1.4%). Other materials were benzyl penicillin 119 (27.9%), (dihydro)streptomycin 105 (24.6%) and enrofloxacin (including ciprofloxacin) 39 (9.1%). In conclusion, strict management of benzyl penicillin and streptomycin in cattle and pigs should be implemented to reduce the positive cases of slaughtered livestock in Korea.
