Cockroach survey on the relative density from 7 different habitats including hotel-ins, tea-rooms restaurants, hospitals, apartments, and resident hoses were conducted in 3 District(Ku) areas in Suwon city during the period of February through October, 1994. of a total of 3.039 trap sets, Cockroaches were collected from 1,435 traps, comprised of a 47.22% positive trap-rate. Chinese restaurants were shown to be the highest positive trap-rate of 72.67% of the total while the other habitats such as Korean restaurants, apartments, resident hoses, tea-rooms, hotel-inns, and hospitals were 60.67%, 58.61%, 52.22%, 38.67%, 24.88%, and 17.54%, respectively. Blattella germanica was shown to be the highest population density of 55.01 individuals/trap/week comprised of 97.36% of the total during survey period whereas the other 3 species, Periplaneta japonica, P. americana, and P. fuliginosa constituted in lesser extent of 2.35%, 0.14%, respectively. Of a total of 7 different cockroach breeding habitats, higher population density per trap/week was from restaurants with averages of 20.56 and 8.31 cockroaches from Chinese and Koran restaurants, respectively. An intermediate extent of density was observed from apartments, tea rooms and resident houses with 5.33, 3.79 and 3.53 individuals, respectively. Lower relative densities of cockroaches were observed from hospitals and hotel-inns with averages of 0.18 and 1.00 individuals per trap/week, respectively.
The historical study reveals that our ancestors had maintained a system which could produce data on the number of population and households as well as on their characteristics. For example, such data on age structure of the population, number of births, number of deaths by age & sex, number of in & out migrants were found in an historical document for the year 755. The main purposes of maintaining the system at that time were taxation and conscription. As the system evolves, another function of identifying the legal status of people was also added. Looking into the figures for those days reveals that ommission rates of the number of population and households were high. Thus, in an effort to obtain a reliable data, the annual population survey system was introduced as of 1 September 1896. This date is now cerebrated as the Statistics Day. Since then, the survey system has been diversified. At the present time, there are three major data sources which produce the statistics on population and households: Civil Registration System (vital statistics), Resident Registratiton System (migration statistics) and Population Census. However, these three systems are found to have some problems to produce the accurate data. There are some inherent problems in the registration systems such as problems in its coverage, accuracies in contents and timeliness in reporting the vital events and publishing the results. The population census has also non-sampling errors such as errors in coverage, response and non-response. Apart from the above mentioned problems, there are also conflicting problems arised from having different three data source. We can find some overlapping problems in laws and difficulties in comparative studies between regions. In the future, these problems should be taken into consideration for the improvement of the quality of statistics on population and households.

In Asia, where the aging population is growing rapidly, as the funeral service industry develops and the market grows. The economic value and interest of funeral services is increasing. However, Korea's funeral services are being developed in a biased direction, focusing only on funeral services, after death. Compared to the case of advanced funeral services in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Japan, not only the funeral but also the care of the deceased's family and acquaintances around us are developing. It is appropriate to use a method based on ethnography and User eXperience. For this purpose, the method of collecting and analyzing the ethnography and user experience data of actual resident and visitor was deduced in persona method in the next ten years, and funeral service centered on resident and visitor. In this study, qualitative data centered on the future direction of funeral services, focusing on the resident (family) and the guest who are the principals of services from the perspective of service science. It is difficult to derive meaningful results from the process of collecting, processing, and interpreting big data in general, and in this case, the data analysis method is based on ethnography and user eXperience.) Is appropriate. For this purpose, the method of collecting and analyzing the ethnography and user experience data of the actual resident and the visitor was deduced in the persona method in detail after 10 years. In addition, the future direction of funeral services centered on residence and visitor was presented.
For a survey research in which the characteristics of the population of interest are investigated from a sample, representativeness of the sampling frame is one of the most important part to be considered. If the sampling frame fails to represent the population properly, statistical procedures based on the even efficient sampling design result in significant nonsampling biases and thus the statistical validities of the results could be damaged. But the construction of the reliable sampling frame that covers the population properly costs money and time and thus the sampling frame based on a census or a large scale survey is often used in practice. For example, the sampling frame based on the population households census is used for many household surveys in Korea. But due to the time difference between the census and a survey of interest, the sampling frame constructed from the census is expected to fail to cover the population of interest. Especially, one could expect a large amount of population and household movement in a large city like Seoul. Thus in our research, we considered the construction of new sampling frame and the procedure of sample selection for 2008 Seoul survey. We analyzed the sampling frame based on 2005 population households census and found that it does not represent the population properly. Thus, we proposed a new sampling frame based on resident registration DB for 2008 Seoul survey. We also proposed the sampling weights and estimator of the population mean based on the sample selected from the newly constructed sampling frame.
This study aims at suggesting directions to make children's parks considering the actual groups using them by comparative analysis of age distribution in residents within area of use and locations of children's parks with regards to changes in population structure of low birth rate and aging. Cheongju was selected for the study, and the current status of children's parks and population structure were categorized into six stages and the investigation and analysis were conducted by statistics by population group and by using Arc GIS Program. As a result of the analysis, children under 13 were 13.1% of the entire population in Cheongju and share of middle-aged and aged group including middle-aged was 31.3%. Park area per one children under 13 was 5.9㎡ and based on walking use area(250m), average number of parks available by autonomous district was eight. As a result of the analysis of characteristics of distribution of children's parks, they are densely located in old downtowns or the distribution density was relatively high in newly developed areas such as Osong-eup or Ochang-eup. However, outer rural areas have no children's parks or relatively low rate. As a result of the analysis on population structure and co-efficient of park location, in nine autonomous districts, aged group is increasing, leading to decrease use of children's parks. If resident rate aged group is higher in the region where a children's park is located, it is necessary to re-compose the existing one to different one or to change purposes of parks to be planned. Also, in the area with similar rates in both children's group and aged group, composing complex parks for both of them could be considered. This study has limitations by not conducting field studies about the current status of use of children's parks in areas where the population structure has been changing and not suggesting specifically new types of parks according to changes in population structure. It is necessary to conduct the following studies about relationship between children's parks and policies for composing parks responding to changes in population structure in neighboring regions in future.
That's an attempt to study about knowledge, attitudes and practice of the residents with regard to maternal child health, family, planning, and tuberculosis in rural area which was chosen to be a demonstration area for nursing students of College of Nursing, Yonsei University for their public health nursing practice. In addition, it is designed to collect information on population of the area such as age and sex distribution, mobility, and other characteristics also be sought by doing a census. The purpose of study is to obtain data which are needed for planning student learning experiences in the community. The information which was obtainable through this study is as follows; 1. In demographic aspect a. Population structure was a typical rural type in terms of population pyramid. b. Distribution of age and sex of residents showed more female in the older ages. c. Population has not moved much. Majority of them have been living in the area since their births. 2. In sociological aspect a. The level of education of female was comparatively lower than male. b. The residents of the area did not have any special religion. c. The economic status was found low or middle class. 3. In health practice In general health knowledge, attitudes and practice appeared to be poor. As a result of this study, it could be summararized that there are a great public health nursing needs in the community. According to these needs found and to it's nature, severity and massiveness, the nurse instructors with students were able to set up a priority system in services. Meanwhile student case load can be logically figured out in consideration of variety of experiences need for each student. The study helped student not only to find out resident characteristics and their health problems in terms of family and community problem but also to provide a good learning experience by participating in the interviewing. In sum this type of study is necessary for planning of student field experience when no data are available where students are going to have field experiences in public health nursing.
Although the majority of elderly are residentially stable, many western studies have recently reported that there has been a gradual growth of retirement migration. However, little is known about that in Korea. Therefore, this study intended to examine the trend and nature of elderly migration. For this purpose, inter- and intra-province migration among the aged 65 and over were analyzed, using the migration data of the Korea National Statistical Office, compiled from the 2000 and 2006 resident registration records. The results were as follows. First, there was an increase of elderly migrants to 531 thousand persons in 2006 from 383 thousand persons in 2000. Secondly, the migration rate of elderly has steadily grown with a 11.7% in 2000 and 12% in 2006. Also, the move of female among old population was active but this trend tended to decrease in 2006. Thirdly, the number of provinces which showed a positive net inter-province migration of old population increased from 7 provinces in 2000 to 8 provinces in 2006. Fourthly, we found that the destinations of elderly migrants were mostly neighboring province except the Chungnam, Jeonbuk, and Jeju. These results suggested that elderly migration would be expected to increase gradually and be important in the future of Korea.

Background: The lack of headforms that accurately reflect the head characteristics of Koreans and the demographic composition of the Korean population can lead to inadequate FFR testing and reduced effectiveness of FFRs. Method: Direct measurements of 5,110 individuals and 3D measurements of 2,044 individuals, aged between 9 and 69 years, were sampled from the data pool of Size Korea surveys based on the age and gender ratios of the Korean resident demographics. Seven head dimensions were selected based on the ISO 16976-2, availability of Size Korea measurements, and their relevance to the fit performance of FFRs. A principal component analysis (PCA) was performed using the direct measurements to extract the main factors explaining the head characteristics and then the main factors were standardized and remapped to 3D measurements, creating five size categories representing Korean head shapes. Lastly, representative 3D headforms were constructed by averaging five head shapes for each size category. Results: The study identified two main factors explaining Korean head characteristics by the PCA procedure specified in ISO 16976-2 and developed five representative headforms reflecting the anthropometric features of Korean heads: medium, small, large, short & wide, and long & narrow. Conclusion: This study developed representative headforms tailored to the Korean population for conducting total inward leakage (TIL) tests on filtering facepiece respirators (FFRs). The representative headforms can be used for TIL testing by employing robotic headforms to enhance the performance of FFRs for the Korean target population.

This study is intended for bedding stores and finds management performance factors from providers' aspect. Henceforth this study can be used when bedding stores were considered to establish by determinations and bedding companies with statistics as a criterion and a tool so that make an accurate estimate. First, it was found that location and trade area are the most influential factor in the management performance. Second, the result of study showed that location placed first in the importance of management performance factors in bedding stores, consumer came second, followed by competition. Third, it was assumed that the large floating population around the bedding store was the most important variable in location factor, the large resident population was the most important one in the consumer factor and high quality product was the most important one in the economic factor.
