Characterization of Artificial Graphite Electrodes

  • Physical properties of artificial graphite electrodes were evaluated along three different directions; circumferential (X), radial (Y), and axial (Z) directions. Four kinds of commercial electrode products were used in this study for the evaluation; pole (AP) and nipple (AN) of manufacturer A, pole (BP) and nipple (BN) of manufacturer B. The mechanical, electrical, and thermal properties in X and Y directions were very similar to each other. In Z direction, however, the mechanical properties, including flexural strength and compressive strength, were higher, and electric resistance and thermal expansion were much lower than those in the other directions. The microstructures observed by optical microscope and scanning electron microscope revealed that the differences in properties by the measuring direction were caused by the preferential alignment of needle cokes along the Z direction. When comparing the properties of the electrode samples in the same direction, the mechanical properties mainly depended on the bulk density or porosity of the samples as well as preferential alignment of needle cokes.

지식정보사회의 신경제공간과 지리학 연구의 방향 (New Economic Spaces and Directions of Geographical Research in the Knowledge-Based Information Society)

  • 본 연구는 지식정보사회에서 신경제공간 형성의 메커니즘을 살펴보고 향후 지리학연구의 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 정보화 사회에서 신경제공간의 형성 배경에 대해 개관하고, 그 메커니즘으로 네트워크, 착근성, 집적 및 분산에 대해서 설명하였다. 또한 한국에서 혁신활동이 활발한 서울의 강남지역과 낙후지역 중의 하나인 전북 순창지역에 대한 사례연구를 통하여 한국의 낙후지역에서도 신경제공간의 형성이 이루어지고 있음을 지적하였다. 이러한 이론적 논의와 사례연구를 바탕으로 앞으로 지리학연구의 방향을 크게 통합적 관점에서의 연구, 지리학연구 방법론 개발, 정책관련연구의 세 가지 측면에서 논의하였다.

  • Purpose: To investigate the relationship between 3D bone architectural parameters and direction-related elastic moduli of cancellous bone of mandibular condyle. Materials and Methods: Two micro-pigs (Micro-$pig^R$, PWG Genetics Korea) were used. Each pig was about 12 months old and weighing around 44 kg. 31 cylindrical bone specimen were obtained from cancellous bone of condyles for 3D analysis and measured by micro-computed tomography. Six parameters were trabecular thickness (Tb. Th), bone specific surface (BS/BV), percent bone volume (BV/TV), structure model index (SMI), degree of anisotropy (DA) and 3-dimensional fractal dimension (3DFD). Elastic moduli of three orthogonal directions (superior-inferior (SI), medial-lateral (ML), andterior-posterior (AP) direction) were calculated through finite element analysis. Results: Elastic modulus of superior-inferior direction was higher than those of other directions. Elastic moduli of 3 orthogonal directions showed different correlation with 3D architectural parameters. Elastic moduli of SI and ML directions showed significant strong to moderate correlation with BV/TV, SMI and 3DFD. Conclusion: Elastic modulus of cancellous bone of pig mandibular condyle was highest in the SI direction and it was supposed that the change into plate-like structure of trabeculae was mainly affected by increase of trabeculae of SI and ML directions.

수학 교육에서의 쓰기(writing)의 활용 방향 (Directions for using writing in mathematics education)

  • Writing in mathematics education is widely used in foreign countries. In this respect, it needs to consider the possibility and directions and directions for using writing in mathematics education. For this purpose, three perspectives - constructivism, socio-cultural perspective, symbolic interactionism - on communication in mathematics education have been reviewed. Then the past research on writing in general and using writing in mathematics education was summarized. Finally, directions for using writing in our mathematics class were suggested.

Magnetotransport Properties of MnAs Film on GaAs(001) Substrate

  • The magnetotransport properties at room temperature of the 250-nm-thick MnAs(-1100) film grown on GaAs(001) substrate by molecular beam epitaxy was investigated. The results measured with various magnetic field directions were reported. They show the negative magnetoresistive effect for all field directions. The difference in the magnetoresistance curves for different field directions is in agreement with the magnetic anisotropy of the film.

미래 중등학교의 건축 계획원칙 및 방향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Architectural Planning Principles and Directions of the Secondary School for the Future)

  • This study is on the architectural planning of the secondary school for the future. It focuses on principles and directions of the architectural planning. There are two motivations on the change of education paradigm. The one is that educational philosophy changes and the other is that the knowledge based society has come. Now these affection factors put the education paradigm to be changed. These educational paradigm need to be analyzed from constructivism and educational informationage. Lastly, architectural principles and directions were analogized from educational directions. Architectural principles(6 elements) and directions(15 elements) have been proposed in this study. The conclusion of this study, architectural planning of educational facilities must be with those criteria for more characteristic schools and organic schools.

Emotional Intelligence Research Trends and Future Research Directions in Korean Journals

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study is to analyze the characteristics of emotional intelligence and the variables related to emotional intelligence in a comprehensive manner. In addition, the study intends to present research trends and future research directions of emotional intelligence in a Korean context by analyzing the effects of emotional intelligence and its mechanisms. Research Design, Data, and Methodology: 77 KCI listed studies were selected for the analysis, and the research perspective of emotional intelligence, measurement instruments, empirical research and research methods were analyzed. In addition, research directions were suggested based on the analysis results. Results: The results of the analysis were as follows: First, previous researchers used the ability model of emotional intelligence the most. Second, Previous studies tended to focus on behavioral factors as dependent variables affected by emotional intelligence, in addition to attitudes, affection. Third, there were few studies on the antecedents of emotional intelligence, however, most studies dealt with the consequences of emotional intelligence. Fourth, few studies dealt with moderators between emotional intelligence and dependent variables. Fifth, on the research type, most studies were quantitative studies, however, a few of them were qualitative studies (Literature review, in-depth interview). Sixth, with regard to the analysis level, almost all studies were conducted on the individual level of emotional intelligence, and most studies featured a cross-sectional research design (longitudinal research design was rare). Conclusion: First, from the perspective of emotional intelligence, additional research should be focused on not only the ability model of emotional intelligence but also on the trait model or the mixed model in the future. Second, since emotional intelligence is a multidimensional construct, it is necessary to study the profile of emotional intelligence by employing people-centered as well as variable-centered methods. Third, with regard to empirical studies, additional research is needed with respect to not only the emotional intelligence of the subordinate, but also the emotional intelligence of the supervisor (leader) and the emotional intelligence of the group. Fourth, it is necessary to actively utilize not only cross-sectional design but also longitudinal design, and qualitative research and meta-analysis methods should also be adopted.

문헌분석을 통한 인터넷전문은행에 관한 국내 연구동향 및 향후 연구방향 고찰 (Analyses of the Domestic Research Trends and Future Research Directions of the Pure Play Internet Banks through Literature Review)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 인터넷전문은행의 국내 연구 현황을 분석하고, 향후 연구 방향을 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 먼저, 인터넷전문은행의 기본 개념과 현황을 간략히 정리하고, 문헌 분석 기준을 수립하고, 수립한 기준을 바탕으로 인터넷전문은행에 관련된 56편의 문헌을 분석하였다. 인터넷전문은행 분야의 학술적인 연구와 실무에서 참고할 수 있는 주요한 연구 결과와 향후 연구방향을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구 방법적으로 비실증 연구는 의견/주장보다는 수학적/개념적 모델 수립의 연구를, 실증 연구의 경우에는 2차 데이터 분석 방법을 활용하고, 둘째, 개인수준의 연구의 경우, 은행 인력에 대해 연구와 고객 대상의 연구에서 활용과 성과에 대한 심도 있는 연구가 필요하고, 셋째, 조직 단위의 연구 활성화가 필요하고, 넷째, 사회 수준 연구에서는 인터넷전문은행의 파급효과를 보다 체계적으로 분석할 필요가 있다고 판단된다.
