  • It is the important accurately to identify the needs of our customers in order to success the project. Requirements in the early stages of business is very abstract or not quantitative, and that will cause problems such as cost or schedule changes. Particularly many people are likely to prefer the early stages of the project, because the time of applying VE related cost savings is important. Owner's requirement analysis for project success in the VE process does not easy, and specific ongoing management of the requirement is difficult. Therefore, the analysis and the application of owner's requirements is limited in project process. The purpose of this study is proposed to the RFM technique to supplement the functional analysis on the basis owner's requirements analysis in planning a building project.

  • Production of freeform concrete segments use various molds because of the unique shape of it unlike common concrete segments. As a result, the mold for freeform concrete segments cannot be reused. Therefor, cost overrun is occurred by needs of more time and manpower to produce the freeform concrete segments compared with common concrete segments. To prevent the cost overrun, a new production method for the freeform concrete segments is needed to develop and the requirements for it should be analyzed before. Therefor, the aim of this study is requirements analysis for production of freeform concrete segment. The requirements of production of freeform concrete segments and form for it is analyzed in this study. The result of this study would be used to suggest the new production method of freeform concrete segments.

  • This paper concerns about the requirement analysis for night vision imaging system(NVIS), whose purpose is to intensify the available nighttime near infrared(IR) radiation sufficiently to be caught by the human eyes on a miniature green phosphor screen. The requirements for NVIS are NVIS radiance(NR), chromaticity, daylight legibility/readability, etc. The NR is a quantitative measure of night vision goggle (NVG) compatibility of a light source as viewed through goggles. The chromaticity is the quality of a color as determined by its purity and dominant wavelength. The daylight legibility/readability is the degree at which words are readable based on appearance and a measure of an instrument's ability to display incremental changes in its output value. In this paper, the requirements of NR, chromaticity, and daylight legibility/readability for Type I and Class B/C NVIS are analyzed. Also the rationale is shown with respect to those requirements.

  • In software engineering, requirement analysis is an important task throughout the process and takes up a high proportion. However, factors that fail to analyze requirements include communication failure, different understanding of the meaning of requirements, and failure to perform requirements normally. To solve this problem, we derived actors and behaviors using morpheme analysis and BERT algorithms in the Korean requirement document and constructed them as ontologies. A chatbot system with ontology data is constructed to derive a final system event list through Q&A with users. The chatbot system generates the derived system event list as a requirement diagram and a requirement specification and provides it to the user. Through the above system, diagrams and specifications with a level of coverage complied with Korean requirement documents were created.

  • Data from 24 feeding trials conducted on lactating cattle from different institutes across India were subjected to regression analysis to derive requirements of ME, TDN, CP and DCP for maintenance, milk production and body weight gain. Maintenance requirements for ME, TDN, CP and DCP were 598 KJ, 39.5 g, 6.27 g and 2.90 g/kg $W^{0.75}$, respectively and the corresponding requirements for production of 1 kg 4% FCM were 5,023 KJ, 332 g, 82 g and 58 g. The corresponding requirements for one g gain in BW were 27 KJ, 1.78 g, 0.44 g and 0.19 g. Regression equations had high $R^{2}$ values (0.67 to 0.90) and the equations (Fvalue) as well as coefficients were highly significant (p<0.001). Regressed values were used to develop feeding standards. Derived values matched well with the actual intake versus performance of animals under diverse feeding conditions. The new standards so derived predicted requirements and intake of nutrients for different production levels better than existing feeding standards; as these are based on a more thorough analysis of a larger database, the new feeding standards will be appropriate for wide use in India.

  • This paper discusses an empirical study on extracting requirements for ubiquitous computing technology-based information system (ubi-IS) using factor analysis. After preliminary review of related literature, features specific to ubiquitous computing technology have been retrieved, selected in terms of main elements of information system (IS) (network, device, user interface, and operating system), and further used as variables during conducting factor analysis. Quantitative data was collected through questionnaire approach. The results of factor analysis manifested 5 factors containing 15 variables, and eventually, based upon the extracted factors the requirements for ubi-IS were identified.

  • Common problems have been observed in the existing Information Requirements Analysis (IRA) methodologies such as BSP(IBM), CSF(Rockart), or ISP(Information Engineering), etc. These methodologies require too much time and human resources for the IRA process, involves high complexity, and their IRA outcomes are frequently biased by the subjective views of the people involved. In this paper, we introduce a new methodology for the enterprise wide information requirements analysis utilizing templates and nine closed-ended questions. Extending the BIAIT(Business Information Analysis and Integration Technique) method, this methodology presents nine question about each firm's order type(7Q's for customer side and 2Q's for supplier side) to derive information processing characteristics of the firms. As the central component of this methodology, data and process templates for the manufacturing industry were established. To validate the methodology, suitability of the data and process templates were examined through six real world business cases.

  • Use case modeling on UML (Unified Modeling Language) is getting widely used in OOAD and CBD and it is considered a useful technique in dealing with the complexity of the requirements analysis. However, some of the problems with use case modeling are that it is not structured, difficult to handle non-functional requirements, and to analyze impacts among use cases. To alleviate these problems, we propose a scenario-based goal-oriented approach for use case modeling. The proposed approach is to apply a goal-oriented analysis method to use case modeling. Since goal-oriented analysis method is not systematic and many heuristics are involved, we have adopted scenarios as the basis for goal extraction. The proposed method is applied to CBIS (City Bus Information Subsystem) in ITS (Intelligent Transportation System) domain. The proposed approach helps software engineers to analyze the impact among use cases and represent non-functional requirements.

  • This paper presents a documentation and development method to facilitate the certification of scientific computing software used in the safety analysis of nuclear facilities. To study the problems faced during quality assurance and certification activities, a case study was performed on legacy software used for thermal analysis of a fuelpin in a nuclear reactor. Although no errors were uncovered in the code, 27 issues of incompleteness and inconsistency were found with the documentation. This work proposes that software documentation follow a rational process, which includes a software requirements specification following a template that is reusable, maintainable, and understandable. To develop the design and implementation, this paper suggests literate programming as an alternative to traditional structured programming. Literate programming allows for documenting of numerical algorithms and code together in what is termed the literate programmer's manual. This manual is developed with explicit traceability to the software requirements specification. The traceability between the theory, numerical algorithms, and implementation facilitates achieving completeness and consistency, as well as simplifies the process of verification and the associated certification.
