The historical study reveals that our ancestors had maintained a system which could produce data on population and households. The main purposes of maintaing the system at that time were taxation and conscription. At the present time, however, there are three major data sources which produce the statistics on pop-ulation and households in Korea : Civil Registration System, Resident Registration System and Popula-tion Census. These three systems are found to have some problems. there are some inherent problems in the regis-tration systems, such as problems in its coverage, accuracies in contents and timeliness in reporting the vital events and publishing the results. The population census has also non- sampling erors, such as errors in coverage, respone and non-response. Apart from the above mentioned problems, there are also conflicting problems arised from having three data sources, We can find some overlapping problems and difficulties in comparative studies. In the future, these problems should be considered for the improvement of the quality of statistics on population and household.

As the issuance of type certificate and production certificate for KC-100 Naraon, Korea is ranked as the State of Design and the State of Manufacture for civil aircraft specified in the Convention on International Civil Aviation. It means that another responsibilities are imposed and new frameworks are required for the airworthiness management including the continuing airworthiness. So far the minimum airworthiness management system was sufficient as the State of Registry for the aircraft operations and safety management. However, we need to establish and maintain the airworthiness management system for the effective certification and oversight of our air operators and approval holders. This paper introduces the new obligations under the Convention on International Civil Aviation, reviews the current aviation regulations and procedures and presents the strategy for the establishment of the regulatory system to ensure the airworthiness of aircraft.

Recently many organizations have attempted to build hypermedia systems to expand their working areas to internet-based virtual work places. It is thus important to manage corporate hypermedia documents effectively. Metadata play a critical role for managing these documents. This paper identifies metadata roles and components to build its schema. Furthermore a meta-information system HyDoMiS(Hyperdocument Meta-information System) is proposed by the use of this metadata schema. HyDoMiS performs three functions metadata management search and reporting The metadata management function is concerned with workflow document and database. The system is more likely to help implement and maintsain hypermedia information system effectively.

One of the objectives of any task design is to provide a safe and helpful workplace for the employees. The safety and health module may include means for confronting the design with safety and health regulations and standards as well as tools for obstacles and collisions detection (such as error models and simulators), Virtual Reality is a leading edge technology which has only very recently become available on platforms and at prices accessible to the majority of simulation engineers. The design of an automated manufacturing system is a complicated, multidisciplinary task that requires involvement of several specialists. In this paper, a design procedure that facilitates the safety and ergonomic considerations of an automated manufacturing system are described. The procedure consists of the following major steps. Data collection and analysis of the data, creation of a three-dimensional simulation model of the work environment, simulation for safety analysis and risk assessment, development of safety solutions, selection of the preferred solutions, implementation of the selected solutions, reporting, and training. When improving the safety of an existing system the three-dimensional simulation model helps the designer to perceive the work from operators point of view objectively and safely without the exposure to hazards of the actual system.

In this paper, we present the Computerized Polysomnographic System, which we developed for aiding manual polysomnographic diagnonis. This system is composed of four sub parts: patient information management tool, polysomno-graphic signal acquisition tool, signal analysis tool, and result-reporting tool. We calculated the parameters of sleep diagnosis, both on the sleep stage hypnogram and event lists. We developed this system on the Windows NT 4.0 and Pentium Pro 200Mhz. We are testing this system on the clinical site.

In a very competitive construction business environment there is a need to measure and manage business performance across a wider spectrum of business success criteria. The Balanced Scorecard (BSC) and Triple Bottom Line (TBL) reporting concepts are emerging as champions in the race for sustainable business success. The construction business organisations are often judged based on their financial performance as well as wider performance. This paper aims at developing a universally accepted tool for assessing contractors' wider business performance in the construction industry. A prototype of web-based business performance measurement system has been developed to help contractors assess their own performance aimed at uplifting their performance. The consultants/clients can also use the tool to measure contractors' performance in a value-based contractor selection. The system was developed based on the research conducted among 63 senior construction professionals and therefore further research with the participation of a large number of managers across different countries and also an upgrade of the system will be required.

본 논문에서는 해커의 불법적인 공격으로부터 전산망을 안전하게 보호하기 위하여 Trusted Information System에서 발표한 공개 버전인 TIS Firewall Toolkit의 방화벽 시스템 구조와 구성요소를 분석하였고 그리고 구축방법에 대하여 기술하였다. 또한 툴킷에서 제공하는 관리 지원 도구인 Port scanner, network subnet ping manager, reporting도구 등을 분석하였다. 본 논문에서 기술한 TIS 툴킷을 이용한다면, 상용 방화벽 시스템을 구축하기 전에 , 보다 쉽게 기관의 보안 정책 개발과 전산망 보호 기술을 확보할 수 있다.

본 연구에서 영상 패턴인식 기술을 이용하여 교차로에서 발생하는 교통사고의 전과정을 동영상으로 기록하고 취득된 사고 자료를 교통관리센터에 전송하여 필요한 조치를 바로 취할 수 있도록 하는 시스템을 제시하였다. 제안된 기술에 따라 개발된 교통사고 자동기록장치가 서울시 교통사고 다발 교차로에 설치되어 운영 및 성능평가 중이다. 동 장치에서 수집된 교통사고 동영상 자료는 교통사고 조사신뢰도를 높이고 교통안전 개선에 크게 기여할 것이다.

은행 영업점 직원은 창구고객을 응대하는 것이 주업무이나 그 밖의 부수적인 업무에도 많은 시간을 할애하고 있다. 고객의 금전을 취급하는 특성으로 매일 시재의 검사와, 일일결산을 위하여 일일 항목별 보고서를 출력해서 결제를 받아야 하고 주기적으로 본부 부서에 보고서를 작성해서 보내야 한다. 그러나 보고서 관련 업무의 비중이 높아지면 영업점직원의 업무 부담이 과중해서 창구 응대에 소홀해질 우려가 있다. 이에 따라 보고업무의 능률화, 보고 경로의 개선, 온라인 업무의 개발로 영업점 보고서 업무가 재구축되어 관리업무를 최소화하고 고객서비스 업무에 투여할 수 있는 시간을 증대시켜야 한다.

WCDMA 시스템에서 radio link간에 data를 주고 받고 신뢰성 있는 data를 검증하는 layer가 RLC이다. RLC에서는 전송 측에서 전송한 data가 수신 측에 잘 전송이 되었는지 status report를 확인을 받고 전송이 이루어지지 않았을 경우 재전송을 한다. 재전송 메커니즘에는 poll 및 status 관련 timer가 존재하면 이러한 파라미터값을 적절히 사용하지 않으면 불필요한 data의 재전송으로 인한 radio resource 낭비 및 시스템 throughput에 영향을 준다.
