  • The research reviews three experimental designs which include Split Plot Design (SPD), Crossover Design (CD) and Replicated Design (RD) by using Latin Square Design (LSD). SPD (CRD, LSD) and SPD (LSD, RCBD) that are derived from (S:A)${\times}B{\times}C{\times}D$ and $A{\times}B{\times}C{\times}D$. In addition, (S:A)${\times}B{\times}C$, (S:A)${\times}C{\times}D$ and (S:A)${\times}B{\times}C{\times}D$ can be used to generate various LSD and CD models. Finally, Replicated LSDs are considered to increase the power of detectability.

  • This paper presents the design and the implemenration of a Mutiuser Multimedia Confernce System for synchronous groupwork.The infrastructure of this system is a hybrid srchiercture of centralized and replicated archietctures,that is to maintain sharde information cinsistently and to reduce the overhead of network traffic to the central part.The communication control of data for groupwerk managrment is centralized to the virtual node and the communication control of real data such as audio,video,text is replicated.In order ot provide a realtime audio and video processing,this system uses synamic queues and multithreads.

  • This paper describes the design and implementation of file system which allows the collaborative computing in mobile environment. The design goal is to make a logically one file system in the distributed computer systems. The characteristics of frequent, foreseeable and variable disconnections in a mobile environment wrer taken into consideration. We introduce an auto-hoarding system that provides the availability of large number of nodes which are weakly and intermittently connected. The data consistency problems in distributed or replicated mobile data are also discussed.

Design and Evaluation of a Dynamic Continuous Media Streaming Supporting Method on the basis of Logical Grid Hierarchy for MANETs

  • As wireless connectivity is integrated into many handheld devices, streaming multimedia content among mobile ad-hoc peers is becoming a popular application. In this paper, we propose a dynamic service replication algorithm for providing guaranteed continuous streaming services to all nodes in mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs). First, a MANET is comprised of logical grid hierarchy, and a streaming service is replicated to a lower server region of the logical grid hierarchy by considering the link availability between a mobile node and the streaming server within a server region or the popularity of the streaming service. We evaluate analytically the performance of the proposed algorithm, and compared with that of existing Qin's algorithm. Evaluation results show that our algorithm can achieve better streaming performance than Qin's algorithm. Therefore, the proposed algorithm not only improves the sharing availability of replicated streaming services but also controls efficiently the number of streaming service replications.

  • An experimental method is presented to maximize the replication quality of UV-molded micro-optical components. It is important to maximize the replication quality, because one can obtain the replicated micro-optical components with desired properties by accurate control of the shape. In the present study, a simple technique to avoid micro-air bubbles was first suggested. The effects of the UV-curing dose and the compression pressure on the replication quality of UV-molded structure were examined experimentally. Finally, as a practical application of the process design method, microlens arrays with diameters between 8 ${\mu}m$ and 96 ${\mu}m$ were fabricated by the present method, and the replication quality and the optical properties of the replicated microlens were measured and analyzed.

  • UV-molded microlens arrays with high replication quality were fabricated using a parametric design method. It is important to maximize the replication quality, because one can obtain the replicated micro-optical components with desired properties by accurate control of the shape. In the present study, nickel mold inserts for microlens arrays with lenses having diameters between $3\mu\textrm{m}$ and $230\mu\textrm{m}$ were fabricated by electroforming process. An UV-molding system was designed and constructed, a simple technique to avoid micro-air bubbles was first suggested, and the effects of the compression pressure and UV-curing dose on the replication quality of UV-molded microlens arrays with a diameter of $14\mu\textrm{m}$ were examined experimentally. Finally, geometrical and optical properties of the replicated microlens arrays were measured and analyzed.

  • In this paper, object replication Client/server under distributed computing system is design and implementation. Today many end-users have a computer communication by using internet in the distributed system of client/server. If many users request services to a specific remote server, the server should have got a overhead for hat service processing, delayed the speed for replay, and bring a bottleneck in communication network. Therefore object replication method was proposed to solve this problems. The growth of internet works and distributed applications has increased the need for large scale replicated systems. However, existing replication protocols do not address scale and autonomy issues adequately. Further, current application protocol require consistency of different levels, and therefore should be the selection function of consistency in them, in order to have particular semantics of each level. In this paper, server overhead and bottleneck happening in remote procedure call be using server object replication. Therefore access transparency can be improved by sharing object duplicately. So it will Keep up with the consistency within the replicated objects.

  • Ultrasonic imprinting is a micropattern replication technology for a thermoplastic polymer surface that uses ultrasonic vibration energy; it has the advantages of a short cycle time and low energy consumption. Recently, ultrasonic imprinting has been further developed to extend its functionality: (i) selective ultrasonic imprinting using mask films and (ii) repetitive ultrasonic imprinting for composite pattern development. In this study, selective ultrasonic imprinting was combined with repetitive imprinting in order to replicate versatile micropatterns. For this purpose, a repetitive imprinting technology was further extended to utilize mask films, which enabled versatile micropatterns to be replicated using a single mold with micro-prism patterns. The replicated hybrid micropatterns were optically evaluated through laser light images, which showed that versatile optical diffusion characteristics can be obtained from the hybrid micropatterns.

  • Group collaborative systems are recently emerging to support a group of users engaged in common tasks such as group decision making, engineering design, or collaborative writing. Simultaneously, as communications networks and distributed database systems become core underlying architecture of the organization, the need of collaborative systems are gaining more attentions from industry. In such collaborative systems, as the shared objects may evolve constantly or change for operational purposes, providing the users with synchronized and consistent views of the shared object and maintaining the consistency between shared object and replicated objects are important to improve the overall productivity. This paper provides an change management framework for the group collaborative systems to facilitate managing dependency relationships between shared objects and dependents, and coordinating change and propagation activities in distributed computing environments. Specifically, the framework adopts an object-oriented database paradigm and presents several object constructs capturing dependency management and change notification mechanisms. And the proposed framework accommodates both persistent dependents such as replicated data and transient dependents such as various user views in a single formalism. A prototype system is developed on a commercial object-oriented database management system called OBJECTSTORE using the C++ programming language.

  • Conventional caching system doesn't support Real-Time attributes and load balance. To solve these problems, this paper describes the design and implementation of the RIOP(Real-Time Inter-ORB Protocol) to provide QoS guarantees mechanism integrating RSVP and TAO ORB. Futhermore, it provides fast XCSLS(Extended Caching System for Load Balance) implementing main memory cache in Primary Server using locality of objects. In this paper, a key feature is presented : QoS enforcement, PS(Primary Server) and RS(Replicated Server)
