On-the-fly Atomicity Violation Repairing Technique for Airborne Health Management Systems (항공기 건전성 관리시스템용 원자성 위배 자율 수리 소프트웨어 기법)

  • Airborne health management system prevents functional failure caused by errors or faults in the airborne software. On-the-fly repairing atomicity violations (AV) in an ARINC-653 concurrent software is critical for guaranteeing correctness of execution of the software. This paper proposes Repairing-AV which efficiently repairs atomicity violations. The Repairing-AV can diagnose and prevent an error on-the-fly by utilizing the training results of the software and controls access to the shared variable of the thread where the error occurred. The evaluation of the Repairing-AV measures the time overhead by applying the previous work and the Repairing-AV to five synthesis programs containing the atomicity violation. As the result of evaluation, the RepairingAV constantly shows about 1.4x time overhead regardless of count of shared variable access.

Probabilistic Analysis of Repairing Cost Considering Random Variables of Durability Design Parameters for Chloride Attack (염해-내구성 설계 변수에 변동성에 따른 확률론적 보수비용 산정 분석)

  • Repairing timing and the extended service life with repairing are very important for cost estimation during operation. Conventionally used model for repair cost shows a step-shaped cost elevation without consideration of variability of extended service life due to repairing. In the work, RC(Reinforced Concrete) Column is considered for probabilistic evaluation of repairing number and cost. Two mix proportions are prepared and chloride behavior is evaluated with quantitative exterior conditions. The repairing frequency and cost are investigated with varying service life and the extended service life with repairing which were derived from the chloride behavior analysis. The effect of COV(Coefficient of Variation) on repairing frequency is small but the 1st repairing timing is shown to be major parameter. The probabilistic model for repairing cost is capable of reducing the number of repairing with changing the intended service life unlike deterministic model of repairing cost since it can provide continuous repair cost with time.

A study on repairing construction of Registered Cultural Properties of Jollanamdo -In consideration of material and patterns by repairing project- (전라남도 등록문화재의 수리공사에 관한 조사 연구 -수리공사에 따른 재료 및 형태 변화를 중심으로-)

  • This study is a research examining reshaped pattern in the perspective of repairing parts and materials through repairing renovation of registered cultural properties constructed in modern times and results are as followings. Repairing construction of registered cultural properties of Jollanamdo according to parts is shown numerously in the order of roof, walls and windows, and mostly outworn as time passes on and leakage were the main cause of repair. Also when original shape was damaged by previous repair in the past, and this was another reason of repairing. It was surveyed that among the repairing job repair of damage occurred on the part of roofing area including water leakage, corrosion and damage of roofing material, and damage of groove channel were the most main cause of repair. Especially when roof leakage is occurred by outworn of roofing materials, this cause corrosion and damage of materials due to the damage of leakage parts and this cause repeating cycles of worse leakage again and again. Main repairing materials which deform the original shape of registered cultural properties were confirmed as copper plate used on the roof. Copper plate showing high frequency of application which replaces groove slate or cement roofing tile used on the roof before has high durability and anti-corrosion but it is considered improper material to recover original shape.

  • In order to extend the life time of building and civil infra-structure, nowadays, patch type carbon sheets are widely used as repairing meterials. Repaired concrete columns and beams with carbon sheets gain their stiffness and strength, but they lose toughness and show brittle failure behaviors. Usually, the cracks of concrete structures are visible with naked eyes and the status of the structure in the life cycle is estimated with visible inspection. After repairing of the structure, crack visibility is blocked by repaired carbon sheets. Therefore, structural monitoring after repairing is indispensible and self diagnosis method with optical fiber sensor is very useful. In this paper, peel-out effects is detected with optical fiber sensors and the strain difference between main structure and repaired carbon sheets when they separate each other.

An Efficient On-the-fly Repairing System of Order Violation Errors for Health Management of Airborne Software (항공기 소프트웨어의 건전성 관리를 위해서 순서 위배 오류를 자율 수리하는 효율적인 시스템)

  • Health management system of airborne software repairs runtime errors to provide safety and to reduce cost of maintenance. It is critical to on-the-fly repair order violation errors, because it is difficult to identify them at the development phase. Previous work, called Repairing Atomicity Violations (Repairing-AV) diagnoses order violations for each access event by comparing execution order of accesses. As a result, Repairing-AV has time overhead that is proportional to the number of access events to shared variable. This paper presents a tool called On-the-fly Repairing System (ORS) that can repair order violations of object methods containing access events. The ORS diagnoses order violations by using correct order of object methods, and treats them by stalling its thread where the error is about to occur. Experimentation with five synthetic programs shows that ORS is more efficient than Repairing-AV when the number of access events is greater than sixty.

Maintenance Management System for Long-range Planning of Apartment Buildings (공동주택의 장기수선계획을 위한 유지관리시스템)

  • The repair and maintenance planning is the principal transaction to prevent from the degradation of apartment buildings to prolong their lives. Various building components as part of living area should be maintained properly and timely before critical defects are realized, then the building life might be extended until the limit of its usability. In other words, various building components such as utilities, finishes and structural members are needed to be repaired and replaced in different time interval after completion. To do this systematically, a maintenance management system for Long-Range Planning (LRP) needs developing. The LRP should be figured out based on the forecast of repairing and replacing cycle of building components according to work trades. And the precise forecast of repairing and replacing time of the components helps to enhance the usability of the developed system. The purpose of this paper is to suggest a system with which apartment building managers carry out the tasks of periodical check, diagnosis and replacement of building components based on the maintenance calendar. By using the system, they can easily forecast repairing and replacing time of the components with the consideration of life cycle of building materials and build the LRP.

A Study on the Mending Work Based on the Excavated Costume of Jang Heung Lim's (장흥임씨 출토의복 보수(補修)에 관한 연구)

  • Jang Heung Lim's is a nephew's wife of Kim Duk Ryung, who had been served as a general of Chosun dynasty. When her Tomb was removed to another places there were excavated some articles such as six Korean traditional costume, Korean socks, Korean shoes (Mituri) and so on. The unearthed costume was designated as a monentous folk materials, No.112, and placed on Gwangju folklore museum. At that time, the mending work in the lost part of costume was not implemented. Only an act of textile conservation was worked. In the article, we go through the mending principles and mending methods in damaged parts of costume. First, the mending principles on the damaged costume are as follows : (1) minimize the repaired parts, (2) mend the only damaged parts, (3) use the same color and cloth as that of original ones, (4) use the appropriated stitching method (5) act the fixed framework in case of missing a outer cloth. Second, the mending method related to the damaged part are as follows : (1) the repairing method in the bodice and sleeve part of costume, (2) the repairing method in the hem of steeve, (3) the repairing method in the collar of costume, (4) the repairing method in the armpit part of costume, (5) the repairing method in the connecting parts between one and another width of Korean traditional long skirt. With this article, we wish that the repairing method in the cultural costume will be developed scientifically and specified efficiently.

Trenchless Repairing-Reinforcing Process of Underground Pipes with Advanced Composite Materials (신소재 복합재료를 이용한 비굴착 지하매설관 보수-보강공법)

  • To overcome the disadvantages of conventional excavation technology, various trenchless (or excavation free, or no-dig) repair-reinforcement technologies have been developed and tried. But trenchless technologies so fat developed have some brawbacks such as high cost and inconvenience of operation. In this study, a repairing-reinforcing process for underground pipes with glass fiber fabric polymer composites using VARTM(Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Molding) has been developed. The developed process requires shorter operation time and lower cost with smaller and simpler operating equipments than those of the conventional trenchless technologies. For the reliable operation of the developed method, a simple method to apply pressure and vacuum to the reinforcement was devised and flexible mold technology was tried. Also, resin filling and cure status during RTM process were monitored with a commercial dielectrometry cure monitoring system, LACOMCURE. From the investigation, it has been found that the developed repairing-reinforcing technology with appropriate process variables and on-line cure monitoring has many advantages over conventional methods.

  • The maintenance and repair period consists the largest part of a construction project life cycle cost. However, it has been analyzed that the repairing plan relies on regulations and the officers' experience mostly that sometimes lead to performing unnecessary work. Moreover, the data occurred during repairing have not been stored in a system that can be used in future plans. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to suggest a repairing cost and time predicting model by applying the properties of the building.

  • Computational Building Information Modeling (BIM) is an intelligent 3D model-based process that provides architecture, engineering, and construction professionals the insight to plan, design, construct, and manage buildings and infrastructure more efficiently. This paper aims at using BIM in Hospitals configurations protection. Infrastructure projects are classified as huge structural projects taking advantage of many resources such as finance, materials, human labor, facilities and time. Immense expenses in infrastructure programs should be allocated to estimating the expected results of these arrangements in domestic economy. Hence, the significance of feasibility studies is inevitable in project construction, in this way the necessity in promoting the strategies and using global contemporary technologies in the process of construction maintenance cannot be neglected. This paper aims at using the building information modeling in covering Imam Khomeini Hospital's equipment. First, the relationship between hospital constructions maintenance and repairing, using the building information modeling, is demonstrated. Then, using library studies, the effective factors of constructions' repairing and maintenance were collected. Finally, the possibilities of adding these factors in Revit software, as one of the most applicable software within BIM is investigated and have been identified in some items, where either this software can enter or the software for supporting the repairing and maintenance phase lacks them. The results clearly indicated that the required graphical factors in construction information modeling can be identified and applied successfully.
