The purpose of this study is to look into the location environment of prehistoric and ancient remains (hereinafter referred as remains) in Daejeon Area. For the purpose of this, out of remains reported in investigation areas so far with the object of remains (total 22 places) of New Stone Age -Proto Three Kingdom period, geographical and Geomorphological analysis was conducted. The results are like the following. Most of the remains are distributed over hills especially flat surface - semi-gentle slope of hills. The bed rocks of the remains (21 places, about 95%) are composed of double-mica granite. The remains (19 places, 86%) retain 'the 1st-2nd small scale river and '5th or higher medium scale river'within comparatively short distance at the same time. The average altitude of remains is 71m and most remains are located over the altitude of 50 - 90m. The average gradient of hillslop where the remains are located is $6.7^{\circ}$ and the remains (15 places, 71%) are located over the gradient of about $0-15^{\circ}$. And the tendency that the higher the gradient of remains the smaller the number of remains was confirmed. From the above, it is judged that the inhabitants who lived in Daejeon Area at that time preferred hills with comparatively not high altitude and the earth's surface of low gradient and in addition they recognized water (river) as being important when they selected the location of settlement (or dwelling sites group).

This study is to research the military remains of Korean War(1950~53) focused on Yeonchen, Cheorwon, and Hwacheon-gun in the central border of DMZ. The Yeoncheon-gun is installing 'Yeolsoe' and 'Taepung' observatory in the frontline battlefield adjacent to Southern Limit Line(SLL), and not only protects many military remains including war memorial and crematory facilities of UN troops, but also utilizes them as active educational places. The Cheorwon-gun is actively making known 'Baengmagoji memorial, 'Labor party office' and other buildings adjacent to 'Tourist security DMZ', but needs to set up many monuments around battlefields of 'Gimhwa' and 'Daeseongsan' adjacent to 'Eco-peace park DMZ'. With the battlefield of 'Paroho' as the center, which our troops made brilliant military gains during the war, the Hwacheon-gun protects and informs military remains such as '643 and 490 battlefields', 'Kkeomeok and Guman bridge'. Developing a network for military remains in connection with the annual local festivals, the experience tour and security will be available at these places.
In ARQ based error control, imperfect error detection leaves error remains on a packet. Aiming for a reduction of error remains in multicopy transmission ARQ system, we propose a rule of requesting a retransmission and deciding a correct copy, (identified as $(m, \;{\sigma})$rule). While the probability of error remains is reduced by the employment of the $(m, \;{\sigma})$ rule at multicopy transmission ARQ, delay and throughput performance may be degraded in comparison with those of conventional single copy transmission ARQ. Thus, we develop an analytical method to evaluate the performance trade-off in multicopy transmission ARQ following the $(m, \;{\sigma})$ rule. From the numerical results obtained by the analytical method, we investigate the effect of channel characteristics on the performance of error remains, packet loss, throughput, and packet delay, and confirm that the adaptability of the $(m, \;{\sigma})$ rule to conform to various QoS requirements with ease.
Sepsis remains common surgical problems with high morbidity and mortality despite improvement in the management for septic patient. Although hepatocellular dysfunction occurs during sepsis, the mechanism responsible for this remains unclear. In sepsis, a state of severe oxidative stress is encountered, with host endogenous antioxidant defenses overcome. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine whether specific abnormality exists in cytochrome P450 (CYP)-mediated metabolizing function associated with polymicrobial sepsis and whether role of ascorbic acid (AA) in the alterations during sepsis. This design proposal was presented to a design competition for renovation of the Pagoda Park, located in Chongro-2ga, Chongro-gu, Seoul, where the first ˝Manse˝ (hurrah) Movement fighting against Japanese colonization, broke out on March 1st, 1919. The park has been considered to be the first modern park in Korea also. The objectives for the design were to make a sacred place to commemorate the 3.1 ˝Manse˝ Movement, to preserve and symbolically memorialize historic remains of the old ˝Wongaksa˝ Temple, an to provide natural and rest areas for citizen. For the space composition, three axes symbolic of, ´freedom and independence´, ´mercy´, and ´nature´, were created. For the freedom and independence axis, exiting facilities, such as statures and monuments related to the 3.1 Movement, were relocated centering around the octagonal pavilion, which was the starting point for the movement, to give order of the site. For the ercy axis, symbols of traditional temple structures, such as, ´Iljugate´-´Pian bridge´-´Chongwang gate´-´Haetal gate´-Pagoda-Buddhist sanctum, were created to symbolize the temple remains and placeness. For the nature axis, tree groves, walking trails, and rest areas for citizen were provided around the site. As a whole the design provided structural orders from secular spaces outside to sacred spaces inside.

This study is focused upon developing repairing and restoration methodologies of the Paleolithic sites. The Paleolithic era is not only the remote past, which ended ten thounds years ago, but the period of much different ecological condition compared with that of these days. There have been two kinds of conservation method adopted to restoration of Paleolithic sites which are historic park and ecological park. But there left not much historic remains than ecological sources in most Paleolithic sites, restoring them into ecological park is thought to be more reasonable for the purpose of conserving sites and remains. The first step of restoring Paleolithic sites is reconstructing environmental background in which they earned a living with their own life style at that time. There are three ways of ecological restoration for prehistoric sites, which are the reclamation, the rehabilitation, and the restoration. The reclamation requires physical modification, and the rehabilitation does biological modification, but only the restoration requires improved management. Among them, the most desirable way applicable upon the Paleolithic sites restitution is the reclamation.

This research is the second attempt to illustrate the phases of ancient Korean architecture through a comparative study of historical materials such as historical ruins, relics, stone remains and art products. Among these the stone stupa (budo), contains many architectural aspects of old times, which give clues to trace the characteristics of the antient Korean structures. The study brings about following results: 1. The pillar employs an entasis technique, and the bracket system (gongpo) consists of cross beams (changbang) and small supporting blocks (soro) thereupon. A type of the bracket arm (chomcha) is also found on top of the pillar. 2. Windows and doors are assumed from the carved features on the stone stupa to be pair-doors which could be folded twice sideways and upwards. 3. There are two types of eaves; the single eaves and the double eaves consisting of a rafter and a flying rafter. 4. The roof has furrows formed by the concave tiles and the convex ones and also the tiles at the edge of eaves. And there are evidences that a variety of small images of animal and human figures were decorated along on top of the eaves.

This research aims to illustrate the structure of the ancient Korean wooden buildings by a comparative study of the historical resources such as stone remains, wall paintings historiographies and excavations. As stone pagodas are the most typical stone remains, I selected for analysis some stone pagodas which contain architectural elements and results of the study are as follows: 1) The number of stories and structural modes of the base stone part show the wooden architectural aspects: they have one or two stories and their base part is constructed in the mode of assembling rectangular stones. 2) The body of the pagoda contains such architectural elements as pillars, door and windows, crossbeams, balcony, bracket sets. 3) The roof of the stone pagoda contains such architectural elements as eaves, roofs and modes of stone assembling. The results inferred through this research could be of help for further comparative studies with the other secondary materials by providing basic knowledge for it.

This study derived the design aspects by carrying out the case study of Neunggok prehistoric remains park, Ansansingil historic park and Yongjuk historic park to which are taken measures to preserve undesignated cultural heritages after studying the related laws & regulations and the systems as the design conditions of historic park preserving buried cultural heritages. The results of the study are as follows. First, according to the laws & regulations related to the historical parks, the historic sites should be preserved and utilized at the same time and can have history-related facility spaces, squares, rest spaces, exercise spaces, education & culture space, and convenience spaces. Second, by the space organization and the circulation system emphasizing only the preservation of buried cultural heritages, the feature-preservation space and the functional space are separated and due to not accepting the usage behavior considering peripheral land use, the effectiveness of the historical park was low. Third, the passive feature-preservation methods such as the preservation of the exposed site in architectural methods, the reproduction of the dugout hut, and the planting Royal azaleas or displaying stone after covering up the location of the pit dwellings with soil and the usage mainly for viewing have weakened the identity of the historical park. Fourth, the fence preventing users' access interferes experiencing the features, and the vertical structure protecting the upper part of the exposed features has overwhelmed the landscape of the historical parks. Fifth, it was difficult to figure out the feature space only by the texts mainly on terminologies and the excavation photographs presented on the information signs which introduce the buried cultural heritages.

The cultural assets of the palaces royal tombs remains institution expanded the convenient facilities for the disabled that can help the disabled to watch, to propel the convenient facility expanding business according to the condition of each facility. However, there has been limitations for the disabled facility users in viewing the cultural assets, as the facilities were not installed or were not installed properly. Due to the uniform installation of the convenient facilities that did not consider the features of the cultural assets, the conservation value of the cultural assets have been depreciated and the convenient use standards of the facility users such as the disabled were simultaneously unsatisfactory. Thus, this study maintains the pre-existing value of the palaces royal tombs remains institution that is the Korean indigenous traditional heritage, and uses a part of the improvement model development study on the palaces royal tombs remains institution of the disabled convenience enhancement to understand the current convenient facility installation and relevant services to find the restricted factors in using the facilities and the main problems. The problems were categorized into 13 types of questions, using the repeated problems occurred within the investigated facilities to look at the actual condition of the facilities, which showed that the facilities were in adequate in the aspects of convenient facility installation and relevant service.
