  • A system which needs timely accuracy has to design and to verify correctly about execution-time for reliability. Accordingly, it is necessary for timing analysis tools, and much previous research worked. In timing analysis tool, there are two methods. One is a static analysis, and the other is a measurement based analysis. A static analysis is able to spend time less than a measurement based analysis method, but has low reliability of analysis result caused by hard to estimate time of I/O caused by various hardware. A measurement based analysis can be close analysis to real result, but it is hard to adapt to actual application, and spend a lot of time to get result of analysis. As such, this paper present a software monitoring architecture to supply reliability of static analysis process. In a presented architecture, it can select target as needed measurement through static analysis, and reuse result of measurement exist. Therefore, The architecture can reduce overload of time and performance for measurement, and improve the reliability which is the worst problem of static analysis.

  • Abstract concepts in social research must use measurement tools that are assured of validity and reliability. Observation score derived by a measurement tool can be divided into a valid observation score, a biased observation score, and an error. The presence or absence of a biased value is associated with validity, and the presence or absence of an error value is associated with reliability. There are many techniques for seeing whether a measurement tool is valid and reliable. For example, there are construct validity using factor analysis and internal consistency based on the Cronbach alpha. In this study, the calculation of the Cronbach alpha is derived through a sample, so we suggest an estimator of the Cronbach alpha under complex sample design and nonresponse. In a simulation, the proposed method is compared with many other existing estimators of Cronbach alpha under a multivariate normal distribution.

  • Scanners play an important role in digitally reproducing the color and imaging of original documents used in public offices; however, the current system lacks a standard for digitized documents created by scanners, complicating efforts to create a digitized system. In particular, macrography cannot guarantee the accuracy and reliability of digitalized color documents, pictures, and photographs created by scanners. To this end, we develop a standardized evaluation tool and test target to certify digitalized documents created by a scanner in the domestic environment. In this study, we enhance the accuracy and reliability of scanned data to create an advanced standard evaluation tool for scanners. Moreover, to produce a scanner certification standard, we overcome existing problems related to the growing market. We anticipate that this new standard will see a high degree of application in the current environment.

  • The purpose of this study were to determine the intra-rater and inter-rater reliability of shoulder passive range of motion measurement using the "Clinometer + bubble level", a smartphone application and to compare with the intra-rater and inter-rater reliability of measurement using a goniometer. Twenty six patients with stroke were recruited for this study. Two raters measured the passive range of motion of four types of shoulder movements (forward flexion; FF, abduction; ABD, external rotation at $90^{\circ}$ abduction; ER90 and internal rotation at $90^{\circ}$ abduction; IR90) using a goniometer and a smartphone to determine within-day inter-rater reliability. A retest session was performed thirty minutes later to determine within-day intra-rater reliability. The reliability was assessed using intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC) and the standard error of measurement (SEM). The ICC (2,1) for the inter-rater reliabilities of the goniometer and smartphone were good in FF and ABD [ICC (2,1)=.75~.87] and excellent in ER90 [ICC (2,1)=.90~.95]. The intra-rater reliabilities for the goniometer and smartphone were good or more than good, with an ICC (3,1) value >.75, the exception was IR90 measured by rater 2 on the smartphone. These results suggest that smartphone could be used as an alternative method tool for measurement of passive shoulder range of motion in patients with stroke.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the consistency of external ear measurements obtained by electronic digital caliper, photocopier scanning and digital photographic methods. Photogrammetric measurements were made after image editing software was used to optimize the brightness, contrast, size and image clarity. The CorelDRAW dimension tool was used to create a dimension line that measured the vertical and horizontal length between any two landmarks. Results of repeated measures analysis of variance revealed no significant differences in length and width of the pinna between the three methods. The reliability of the three measurement techniques showed a high degree of consistency. Further study and efforts could be extended to measurement hands, foots and facial dimensions by present techniques.
