중첩 NHPP 모형에 근거한 소프트웨어 최적방출시기에 관한 연구 (A Study of Software Optimal Release Time for Based on Superposition NHPP Model)

  • Decision problem called an optimal release policies, after testing a software system in development phase and transfer it to the user, is studied. The applied model of release time exploited infinite non-homogeneous Poisson process. This infinite non-homogeneous Poisson process is a model which reflects the possibility of introducing new faults when correcting or modifying the software. The failure life-cycle distribution used superposition which has various intensity, if the system is complicated. Thus, software release policies which minimize a total average software cost of development and maintenance under the constraint of satisfying a software reliability requirement becomes an optimal release policies. In a numerical example, after trend test applied and estimated the parameters using maximum likelihood estimation of inter-failure time data, estimated software optimal release time. Through this study, in terms of superposition model and simply model, the optimal time to using superposition model release the software developer to determine how much could count will help.

  • In this paper, we deal with an optimal software-release problem of determining the time to stop testing and release the software system to the user. The optimal release time problem is considered from maintenance like the periodic distribution of service packs and the unpredictable distribution of patches after the release. Moreover, the environment of software error-detection during operation differs from the environment during testing. This paper proposes the software reliability growth model which incorporates periodic service packs, unpredictable patches and operational environment. Based on the proposed model, we derive optimal release time to minimize total cost composed of fixing an error, testing and maintenance. Using numerical examples, optimal release time is determined and illustrated.

  • In this paper, the software reliability growth model which incorporates the periodic maintenance after the release is proposed. Using the proposed model, the debugging and periodic maintenance cost subject to the required level of the software reliability are investigated. An optimal software release time is derived for a fixed interval of periodic maintenance. To validate the proposed model, release times obtained in this study are compared with examples. The proposed investigation is expected to be served as one of factors in determining the release time of the software where periodic maintenance is considered.

극값 분포 특성을 가진 소프트웨어 신뢰성 보증 모형에 관한 비교연구 (The Comparative Study of the Warranty Cost Model for Software Reliability Time Based on Extreme Value Distribution)

  • 본 연구에서는 소프트웨어 제품을 개발하는 과정에서 보증기간을 고려하여 사용자에게 인도하는 시기를 결정하는 방출시기에 관한 모형의 비교 연구이다. 실증 비교 결과 지수화 소프트웨어 신뢰성장모형에서는 보증기간이 증가함에 따라 초기에는 최적방출시기가 증가했으나 점차 거의 유사한 방출시기를 나타내고 있으며 이와 반대로 불완전한 디버깅 소프트웨어 신뢰성장 모형에서는 초기에는 최적방출시기가 감소하였으나 보증기간이 길수록 소폭 증가하는 패턴을 보이고 있으며 제안된 극값모형은 점차적으로 증가하는 형태를 가진다는 결론을 도출 할 수 있다. 이러한 연구결과를 통하여 소프트웨어 개발자들은 보증기간과 방출최적시기의 관계를 파악함으로서 소프트웨어 개발 시 사전정보로 활용 할 수 있으리라 사료된다.

  • This paper considers software release problems based on Goel-Okumoto and S-shaped reliability growth models. Test of the software system is terminated after a preassigned time T, and it is released to the operational phase. It is assumed that correction cost of an error is increasing with test or operation time. Optimum software release time is obtained using total expected cost on the software life time as a criterion for optimization. In addition, optimal software release policies under the constraint of a software reliability requirement are discussed.

  • This paper considers the differences in the software execution environments in the testing phase and the operational phase to determine the optimal release time and warranty period of software systems. We formulate equations for the total expected software cost until the end of the software life cycle based on the NHPP. In addition, we derive the optimal release time that minimizes the total expected software cost for an imperfect debugging software reliability model. Finally, we analyze the sensitivity of the optimal testing and maintenance design related to variation of the cost model parameters based on the fault data observed in the actual testing process, and discuss the quantitative properties of the proposed model.

  • 소프트웨어 배포 문제는 프로젝트관리에 매우 중요하다. 왜냐하면 다양한 운용 환경 하에서 개발비용 및 에러의 발견, 수정 등에 밀접한 관계에 있기 때문이다. 본 논문은 대형 교환시스템 소프트웨어의 Release 시점을 예측할 수 있는 최적배포 문제로서 시스템의 안정도를 평가해 볼 수 있는 측면에서 소프트웨어 최적 배포 문제를 다루었다. 또, 신뢰도 평가 기준을 제시하여 제품의 적기 공급 및 개발자원의 효율적 이용 측면을 분석하고 신뢰성 평가 척도와 개발비용 고려한 최적 배포 문제를 기술하였다. 그밖에 소프트웨어 신뢰도 성장 모델 중 지수형 모델을 근거로 한 초기 고장데이터를 활용하여 교환시스템의 소프트웨어 개발비용과 신뢰성 평가기준을 고려한 최적 배포시기를 결정하고 시험시 발생된 고장데이터에 대한 분석 및 관리기법 등을 소개한다.

  • In general, a software fault detection phenonenon is described by a software reliability model based on a nonhomogeneous Poisson process(NHPP). In this paper, we propose a software reliability growth model considering the differences of the software environments in both the testing phase and the operational phase. Also, we consider the problem of determining the optimal release time and the optimal warranty period that minimize the total expected software cost which takes account of periodic software maintenance(e.g. patch, update, etc). Finally, we analyze the sensitivity of the optimal release time and warranty period based on the fault data observed in the actual testing process.
