One of the most important VANET applications is providing active safety by broadcasting emergency messages. In order to prevent broadcast storm of flooding-based broadcasting scheme in which any node receiving message will rebroadcast, the existing protocols use the different methods to limit the number of relay nodes. Nevertheless, the existing protocols have low delivery ratio with high traffic density and cause message overhead. Currently, the dramatic increase in the number of vehicles equipped with Global Positioning System (GPS) and onboard radar created new application scenarios that were not feasible before. Consequently, we proposed a broadcasting protocol that selects relay node by using GPS-based position information and detecting neighboring vehicles with the help of onboard radar to. Simulation results show that our proposed protocol has better performance than the existing schemes.

The nearest-neighbor multihop routing with/without infrastructure support is known to achieve the optimal capacity scaling in a large packet-erasure network in which multiple wireless nodes and relay stations are regularly placed and packets are erased with a certain probability. In this paper, a throughput scaling law is shown for an infrastructure-supported erasure network where wireless nodes are randomly distributed, which is a more feasible scenario. We use an exponential decay model to suitably model an erasure probability. To achieve high throughput in hybrid random erasure networks, the multihop routing via highway using the percolation theory is proposed and the corresponding throughput scaling is derived. As a main result, the proposed percolation highway based routing scheme achieves the same throughput scaling as the nearest-neighbor multihop case in hybrid regular erasure networks. That is, it is shown that no performance loss occurs even when nodes are randomly distributed.

Due to limited resource, marine communication is severely limited when compared to communications in land. Radio relay facilities, etc. based on a wired network through a long distance communication is possible. In addition, the aircraft is in the air, the ground-based network service based on long-range straight-line distance and elevation (LOS: Line of Sight) communications. On the other hand, the distance in a straight line to the sea, the sea level because communication is limited or through satellite, underwater communications relay equipment installed in the communication scheme has been investigated.. In this paper, using TCP-based real-time joint maritime security communication links were studied. Harsh marine environment, real-time communication that can provide secure communications and propose a LINK joint. In this study, more secure, and convenient communications at sea, a plan was presented to you.

A wireless sensor network consisting of a large number of nodes with limited battery power should minimize energy consumption at each node to prolong the network lifetime. To improve the sensitivity of wireless sensor networks, an efficient scheduling algorithm and energy management technology for minimizing the energy consumption at each node is desired. ill this paper, we propose energy-aware routing mechanism for maximum lifetime and to optimize the solution quality for sensor network maintenance and to relay node from its adjacent cluster heads according to the node"s residual energy and its distance to the base station. Proposed protocol may minimize the energy consumption at each node, thus prolong the lifetime of the system regardless of where the sink is located outside or inside the cluster. Simulation results of proposed scheme show that our mechanism balances the energy consumption well among all sensor nodes and achieves an obvious improvement on the network lifetime. To verify propriety using NS-2, proposed scheme constructs sensor networks adapt to current model and evaluate consumption of total energy, energy consumption of cluster head, average energy dissipation over varying network areas with HEED and LEACH-C.

The paper is related to smart maximum power system based on program logic. Especially, this system compares the total demand power with the target power by using the signal from the digital kilo watt meter. Based on the power information by the maximum power control equipment the consumed future power is anticipated. In addition, through consumed future power the controllable target power is set, and it applies on the maximum power control equipment. User or manager would control the load efficiently through the simple programming which could control load based on the control sequence and relay. To begin with the conventional maximum power control algorithm is surveyed, and the smart maximum power control system based on program logic is used, and the new algorithm from full load to proportion shut down is proposed by using PLC program. the validity of the proposed control scheme is investigated by both simulation results.

In designing assembly lines, it is required that the lines should not only meet the demand of the product, but also minimize the assembly cost associated with the line. For such a purpose, numerous research efforts have been made on either the assembly sequence generation or the assembly line balancing. However, the works dealing with both the research problems have been seldom reported in literature. When assembly sequences are generated without consideration of line balancing, additional cost may be incurred, because the sequences may not guarantee the minimum number of workstations. Therefore, it is essential to consider line balancing in the generation of cost-effective assembly sequences. To incorporate the two research problems into one, this paper treats a single-model and deterministic (SMD) assembly line balancing (ALB) problem, and proposes a new method for generating line-balanced robotic assembly sequences by using a simulated annealing. In this method, an energy function is derived in consideration of the satisfaction of assembly constraints, and the minimization of both the assembly cost and the idle time. Then, the energy function is iteratively minimized and occasionally perturbed by the simulated annealing. When no further change in energy occurs, an assembly sequence with consideration of line balancing is finally found. To show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme, a case study for an electrical relay is presented.

To increase the lifetime of the network in wireless sensor networks, energy harvesting from the surrounding environment or wireless power transfer is being used. In addition, to reduce the energy imbalance and increase the amount of data gathered, a method using mobile sink nodes that visit sensor nodes to gather data has been used. In this paper, we propose a technique to reduce the load on the relay node and collect a lot of data evenly in this environment. In the proposed scheme, sensor nodes construct Minimum Depth Trees (MDTs) considering the network environment and energy, and allocate the data collection amount. Simulation results show that the proposed technique effectively suppresses energy depletion and collects more data compared to existing techniques.
This paper suggests the energy-efficient message delivery scheme and the software platform which exploits the multiple network interfaces of the mobile terminals and GPS in the current mobile devices. The mobile terminals determine the delivery method among 'direct', 'indirect', and 'WAN' based on the position information of itself and other terminals. 'Direct' method sends a message directly to the target terminal using local RAT. 'Indirect' method extends the service area by exploiting intermediate terminals as relay node. If the target terminal is too far to reach through 'direct' or 'indirect' method, the message is sent using wireless WAN technology. Our proposed scheme exploits the position information and, thus, power consumption is drastically reduced in determining handover time and direction. Network simulation results show that our proposed delivery scheme improves the message transfer efficiency and the handover detection latency. We implemented a message platform in a smart phone realizing the proposed delivery scheme. We compared our platform with other typical message platforms from energy efficiency aspect by observing the real power consumption and applying the mathematical modeling. The comparison results show that our platform requires significantly less power.

Recently, there have been intensive researches on the wireless Internet access through WiFi WLAN using WiBro network as backhaul link in the Internet service providing business area. However, in the wireless Internet access method, we need to solve the compatibility problem for different user authentications between licensed WiBro network and unlicensed WiFi network for billing and user management. In this paper, we propose an authentication method for WiFi users by BWAN operators through WiNNERs which is RS connecting the two networks, and discuss the effectiveness of the method.

A large modern wind farm should satisfy the requirements for a grid and accomplish the optimization of the wind farm system. The wind farm intertie protection system should consider a Fault Ride-Through (FRT) requirement for more reliable protection. The wind farm should keep connected to the grid in the case of a grid fault whilst it should be isolated for an intertie fault. This paper proposes a distance relaying algorithm suitable for wind farm intertie protection considering the FRT requirement. The proposed algorithm estimates the impedance based on a differential equation method because the frequency of the voltage and current deviates the nominal frequency. The algorithm extends the reach of Zone 1 up to 100 % of the length of the intertie to implement the FRT requirement. To discriminate an intertie fault from a grid fault, the algorithm uses a voltage blocking scheme because the magnitude of the voltage at the relaying point for an intertie fault becomes less than that for a grid fault. The performance of the algorithm is verified using a PSCAD/EMTDC simulator under various fault conditions. The algorithm can discriminate successfully the intertie fault from grid fault and thus helps to implement the FRT requirement of a wind farm.
