A selective and sensitive reversed-phase HPLC method for the determination of fenoprofen in human serum was developed, validated, and applied to the pharmacokinetic study of fenoprofen calcium. Fenoprofen and internal standard, ketoprofen, were extracted from human serum by liquid-liquid extraction with diethyl ether and analyzed on a Luna C18(2) column with the mobile phase of acetonitrile-3 mM potassium dihydrogen phosphate (32:68, v/v, adjusted to pH 6.6 with phosphoric acid). Detection wavelength of 272 nm and flow rate of 0.25 mL/min were fixed for the study. The assay robustness for the changes of mobile phase pH, organic solvent content, and flow rate was confirmed by $3^{3}$ factorial design using a fixed fenoprofen concentration $(2\;{\mu}g/mL)$ with respect to its peak area and retention time. And also, the ruggedness of this method was investigated at three different laboratories using same quality control (QC) samples. This method showed linear response over the concentration range of $0.05-100\;{\mu}g/mL$ with correlation coefficients greater than 0.999. The lower limit of quantification using 1 mL of serum was $0.05\;{\mu}g/mL$, which was sensitive enough for pharmacokinetic studies. The overall accuracy of the quality control samples ranged from 92.27 to 109.20% for fenoprofen with overall precision (% C.V.) being 5.51-11.71 %. The relative mean recovery of fenoprofen for human serum was 81.7%. Stability (freeze-thaw, short and long-term) studies showed that fenoprofen was not stable during storage. But, extracted serum sample and stock solution were allowed to stand at ambient temperature for 12 hr prior to injection without affecting the quantification. The peak area and retention time of fenoprofen were not significantly affected by the changes of mobile phase pH, organic solvent content, and flow rate under the conditions studied. This method showed good ruggedness (within 15% C.V.) and was successfully used for the analysis of fenoprofen in human serum samples for the pharmacokinetic studies of orally administered Fenopron tablet (600 mg as fenoprofen) at three different laboratories, demonstrating the suitability of the method.

Pentoxifylline and internal standard, chloramphenicol, were extracted from the serum by liquid-liquid extraction with dichloromethane and analyzed on a Luna CI8(2) column with the mobile phase of acetonitrile-0.034 M phosphoric acid (25:75, v/v, adjusted to pH 4.0 with 10 M NaOH). Detection wavelength of 273 nm and flow rate of 0.8 mL/min were used. This method showed linear response over the concentration range of 10-500 ng/mL with correlation coefficients greater than 0.999. The lower limit of quantification using 0.5 mL of the serum was 10 ng/mL, which was sensitive enough for pharmacokinetic studies of pentoxifylline. The overall accuracy of the quality control samples ranged from 89.3 to 92.7% for pentoxifylline with overall precision (% C.V.) being 4.1-9.2%. The relative mean recovery of pentoxifylline for human serum was 105.8%. Stability (stock solution, short and long-term) studies showed that pentoxifylline was not stable during storage. But three freeze-thaw cycles and extracted serum samples were stable. This method showed good ruggedness (within 15% C.V.) and was successfully applied for the analysis of pentoxifylline in human serum samples for the pharmacokinetic studies of orally administered $Trental^{\circledR}$ tablet (400 mg pentoxifylline), demonstrating the suitability of the method.

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of neurofeedback (NFB) on attention in college students with ADHD. Participants were 27 university students, 10 in an NFB training group (experiment group), eight in a CBT group (comparison group) and nine in a no-treatment group. The score of CAARS-K decreased significantly in both the NFB group and the CBT group relative to the no-treatment group. Additionally, the score of the digit span test increased significantly in the NFB group, CBT, and no-treatment group, and the scores of these three groups differed significantly. Moreover, significant changes in EEG were found in the NFB Group, while the CBT group showed no significant changes in EEG. The significant change in EEG implies that NFB training improved the stability of brain function on the cerebral neurological level. The effects of improved attention remained after 5 weeks in both the NFB and CBT group. Finally, implications, limitations, and suggestions for future studies were discussed.

In this paper, the effect of alkaline oxides on the humidity sensitivity of $V_2O_{5}$(2mol%)-doped $TiO_2$(98mol%) was investigated as functions of $Li_{2}Co_{3}$, $Na_{2}Co_{3}$. III-1. Measurement of Density. When the mole% of $Li_2$O is varied 0,1,2,5mol%, the more the mole% of additives is increased, the more difference of bulk and apparent density is largely narrowed. The difference of two densities of sample containing 2mol% $Na_2O$ was large all the moat. The sample containing 1mol% $Na_2O$ was small most. III-2. Observation of porosity. The porosity and total intrusion volume according to various amounts of $Li_2O$ was reduced and those of sample containing 2mol% $Na_2O$ as 31.13%, 0.1155mL/g was the highest and 1mol% $Na_2O$ was lowed most and 5, 10mol% $Na_2O$ was more high compare with sample without alkaline oxides. III-3. Characteristic of humidity sensitivity. 1. Impedance of samples containing $Li_2O$ was high compare with sample without alkaline oxides, so we thought it showed Poor sensitivity because it have no impedance changing rapidly as function of relative humidity. 2. When the humidity was increasing from 30RH% to 90RH%, the impedance of sample containing 2mol% $Na_2O$ at 120HZ changed exponential rapidly from 6${\times}$$10^{7}$$\Omega$) to 1.25${\times}$$10^4$$\Omega$. At under 50RH% and over 50RH%, the humidity sensitivity of samples containing 2mol% $Na_2O$ was best especially in the range of the low humidity. III-4. Characteristic of TG curves. When algal me oxide $M_{2}CO_{3}$(M=Li, Na) were added into $V_{2}O_{5}$-doped $TiO_2$, the stability of humidity sensitivity of samples containing amounts of $Li_2O$ was unstable. The current treatment of extensive meniscal injuries has resulted in numerous investigations and clinical trials to restore normal meniscal functions. A cryopreserved meniscal allograft transplantation is one of the successful methods available to restore the meniscus. All the procedures of 26 cases were performed in an minimal open fashion, though initial four cases were done with the aid of arthroscope. In all of the grafts, we used a bone bridge which was attached to meniscus for better stability and healing. Anterior cruciate ligament reconstructions were also performed simultaneously with the meniscal procedures. We attempted to minimize articular cartilage by employing so called the "Key-hole technique" for the medial meniscus transplantation. First, the meniscal cartilage bone bridge was shaped into a cylinder and a bone tunnel was made just beside the medial border of the anterior criciate ligament insertion of the recipient knee joint, and the bone bridge of the meniscal cartilage was push to press-fit. The inserted meniscal cartilage was sutured by the usually employed technique under arthroscopic control. The lateral meniscus was shaped different to the medial meniscus in that the bone bridge was semicylindrical and the bone trough was made beside the lateral border of the anterior criciate ligament insertion of the recipient knee joint. The meniscus was put into the bone trough and the leading suture was extracted anterior to the tibia and tied the knot. The inserted meniscus was sutured in the same manner as the medial meniscus transplantation. By the above described method, the authors were able to minimize the articular cartilage invasion and transplant the meniscus with relative accuracy.
Recently, the demands for steel frame are increasing because of the trend and due to the demand for bigger and higher buildings. In the analysis of typical steel frame, connections are based on the idealized fixed or pinned connection. A fixed connection assumes that the relative angle of each member before deformation is the same after the transformation. Therefore, the stiffener reinforces the connection to sufficient rigidity and stability of the panel zone. In the economical aspect, however, the necessity of connection that the stiffener reinforcement has omitted is increasing due to the excessive production as well as labor costs of connection. In contrast, pinned connection is assumed that bending moments between the beams and columns do not transfer to each member. This is easy to make in the plant and the construction is simple. However, the structural efficiency is reduced in pinned connection because connection cannot transfer moments. The introduction of this semirigid process can decide efficient cross-sectional dimensions that promote ease in the course of structural erection, as performed by members in the field-a call for safety in the entire frame. Therefore, foreign countries exert efforts to study the practical behavior and the results are applied to criterion. This paper analyzes the semirigid connection of domestic steel by design specifications of AISC/LRFD and make data bank that pertain to each steel. After wards, the results are compared to those of idealized connection; at the same time, this paper presents a design method that matches economic efficiency, end-fixity, and rotational stiffness.
As the natural aggregates such as sand and clay are getting exhausted, the quantity of utilizing geosynthetics is being increased in the solid waste landfill. Especially, the waste landfills have been constructed at the gorge in the mountainous area and reclaimed land from the sea in the Korean Peninsula. Those areas are not favorable for construction of waste landfill in geotechnical engineering aspect. In this study, the frictional characteristics of geosynthetics that used in the waste landfill were estimated. Then, the studies of the behavior of geosynthetics and stability of LDCRS (Leachate Detection, Collection, and Removal System) of side slope were conducted in the waste landfill by means of the pilot test, and numerical analysis. Geocomposite which is combined type or separated type is influenced on the strain itself, and also implicated in the stress and strain of geomembrane at the lower layer. The strain on the combined type of geocomposite is about 50% smaller than that of the separated type at the side slope. The lateral displacement and settlement of top at the slope with the separated type are three times greater than that of the combined type. In the numerical analysis, discontinuous plans in between ground and geosynthetic, geosynthetic and geosynthetic, goesynthetic and waste have been modeled with the interface element. The results gave a good agreement with the field large-scale model test. The relative displacements of geosynthetics were also investigated and hence the interface modeling of liner system is appropriate for analysis of geosynthetics liner system in the waste landfill.

High-k materials have been paid much more attention for their characteristics with high permittivity to reduce the leakage current through the scaled gate oxide. Among the high-k materials, $ZrO_2$ is one of the most attractive ones combing such favorable properties as a high dielectric constant (k= 20 ~ 25), wide band gap (5 ~ 7 eV) as well as a close thermal expansion coefficient with Si that results in good thermal stability of the $ZrO_2$/Si structure. During the etching process, plasma etching has been widely used to define fine-line patterns, selectively remove materials over topography, planarize surfaces, and trip photoresist. About the high-k materials etching, the relation between the etch characteristics of high-k dielectric materials and plasma properties is required to be studied more to match standard processing procedure with low damaged removal process. Among several etching techniques, we chose the inductively coupled plasma (ICP) for high-density plasma, easy control of ion energy and flux, low ownership and simple structure. And the $BCl_3$ was included in the gas due to the effective extraction of oxygen in the form of $BCl_xO_y$ compounds. During the etching process, the wafer surface temperature is an important parameter, until now, there is less study on temperature parameter. In this study, the etch mechanism of $ZrO_2$ thin film was investigated in function of $Cl_2$ addition to $BCl_3$/Ar gas mixture ratio, RF power and DC-bias power based on substrate temperature increased from $10^{\circ}C$ to $80^{\circ}C$. The variations of relative volume densities for the particles were measured with optical emission spectroscopy (OES). The surface imagination was measured by scanning emission spectroscope (SEM). The chemical state of film was investigated using energy dispersive X-ray (EDX).
Excessive occlusal wear results in unacceptable damage to the occluding surfaces, and can cause pulpal injury, occlusal disharmony, impaired function, and aesthetic deformity. Patients with severely worn dentition need to be classified as several categories relative to the vertical dimension of occlusion (VDO) and the interocclusal distance for the prosthetic space. When treating patients classified as those who have excessive wear without loss of occlusal vertical dimension but with limited space, we could consider treating them at an increased vertical dimension of occlusion. Treatments at an increased vertical dimension of occlusion may provide stability, given that the amount of its increase was minimal, and a perfected occlusion was achieved after enough stabilization period. A 50-year-old male visited the department of Prosthodontics in Yonsei University Dental Hospital with the chief complaint of worn teeth on lower anterior area. Reconstruction at an increased vertical dimension of occlusion was planned. After the compatibility of the new vertical dimension of occlusion had been confirmed under interim fixed restorations, definitive fixed restorations composed of full-contour monolithic zirconia prostheses were placed. This case presents that a satisfactory clinical result was achieved by restoring the worn dentition at an increased vertical dimension of occlusion with an improvement in esthetics and function.
Fecal calprotectin (FC) is a marker used for the differential diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). FC is also used to determine the effects of treatment and recurrence prediction because of its non-decomposition by bacteria, relative week stability at room temperature, and its uniform distribution within feces. Healthy male and female adults between the age of 30 and 80 living in Jeju were selected for this study. The FC concentration in the healthy control group (N=45) was distributed widely as 0~545.9 ㎍/g and showed a significant difference with age in healthy adults. The FC concentration in adults over 70 years old (80.6 years on average) was 160.3 ㎍/g. The result is approximately 10 times higher than in adults below 50 years (44 years on average), with FC concentrations at 15.88 ㎍/g. Moreover, adults over 50 years, with an average age of 59.6, had FC concentrations of 35.46 ㎍/g, which were two times higher than the below 50-year-old group, confirming the significant correlation between age and FC concentration. As the FC test is a non-invasive and cost-effective objective marker in IBD tests, a suitable cut-off value is required for different ages. This study provides the baseline data for differential diagnoses.
