가압-진공 하이브리드 주입 성형에 의한 알루미나의 성형에 미치는 다단 가압의 영향 (Effect of Step Pressure on Shape Forming of Alumina by Pressure-Vacuum Hybrid Slip Casting)

  • Conventional cold isostatic pressing, slip casting, and filter pressing are not completely suitable for fabricating large plates because of disadvantages such as the high cost of equipment and formation of density gradient. These problems could be avoided by employing pressure-vacuum hybrid slip casting (PVHSC). In the PVHSC, the consolidation occurs not only by the compression of the slip in casting room, but also by vacuum sucking of the dispersion medium around the mold. We prepared the alumina bodies by the PVHSC in a static- or stepwise-pressure manner for loading up to 0.5 MPa using an aqueous slip. The green bodies were dried at $30^{\circ}C$ with 40 ~ 80% relative humidity. Under static pressure, casting induced a density gradient in the formed body, resulting in cracking and distortion after the firing. However, the stepwise pressure loading resulted in green bodies with homogeneous density, and the minimization of the appearance of those defects in final products. Desirable drying results were obtained from the cast bodies dried with 80% RH environment humidity. When sintered at $1650^{\circ}C$ for 4 h, the alumina plate made by stepwise-pressure casting reached full density (> 99.7% relative density).

Experimental Study on Interfacial Behavior of CFRP-bonded Concrete

  • Recently, the external bonding of carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) sheets has come to be regarded as a very effective method for strengthening of reinforced concrete structures. The behavior of CFRP-strengthened RC structure is mainly governed by the interfacial behavior, which represents the stress transfer and relative slip between concrete and the CFRP sheet. In this study, the effects of bonded length, width and concrete strength on the interfacial behavior are verified and a bond-slip model is proposed. The proposed bond-slip model has nonlinear ascending regions and exponential descending regions, facilitated by modifying the conventional bilinear bond-slip model. Finite element analysis results of interface element implemented with bond-slip model have shown good agreement with the experimental results performed in this study. It is found that the failure load and strain distribution predicted by finite element analysis with the proposed bond-slip are in good agreement with results of experiments.

단층변위를 이용한 단층의 총 이동량 계산법 (A New Method Calculating Total Slip of Fault with Fault Separation)

  • A new trigonometrical method for calculating total slip (T) of faulting is presented. The parameters for the calculations are used rake of fault striation, strike and dip of fault and of index planar structure such as bedding plane. The faults are groupped into three types. The direction of plunging of fault striation is out of a range ${\pm}90^{\circ}$ to the bedding dip direction in $360^{\circ}$ system, which is groupped into the type I. Meanwhile, the case of the direction lies in the above range can be separated into two different types, type II and type III, according to relative largeness of the angles rake of fault striation and i (see text). The type II has smaller rake than angle i and the type III has larger rake than angle i. Here I propose a few equations for calculating not only total slip (T) but strike slip (L) or dip slip (S) of the faulting. The equations are adapted selectively to the types of fault mentioned before. The limitation of the method is that the equations do not fit to polyphase faulting.

기준 슬립 발생기 및 적응 슬라이딩 모드 기법을 이용한 철도차량 제동력 제어 (Adhesive Force Control of Railway Rolling Stock Using Reference Slip Generator and Adaptive Sliding-mode Technique)

  • In the braking of railway rolling stock, the slip that is the relative velocity between train body and its wheel affects the adhesive force which is connected to the braking force. The coefficient of the adhesive force changes in accordance with the slip and the condition of a rail road. Namely, its value increases upon the maximum on a rail condition, and there it declines conversely while the magnitude of slip keeps rising on. First, this paper introduced a reference slip generator so that can utilize maximum adhesive forces with a disturbance observer for estimating unmeasurable current adhesive forces which is as an input of the generator. And, an adaptive sliding-mode control system has been synthesized for minimizing the error between reference and current slip. Finally the effectiveness of the proposed control system is evaluated by computer simulation.

Interface monitoring of steel-concrete-steel sandwich structures using piezoelectric transducers

  • Steel-concrete-steel (SCS) sandwich structures have important advantages over conventional concrete structures, however, bond-slip between the steel plate and concrete may lead to a loss of composite action, resulting in a reduction of stiffness and fatigue life of SCS sandwich structures. Due to the inaccessibility and invisibility of the interface, the interfacial performance monitoring and debonding detection using traditional measurement methods, such as relative displacement between the steel plate and core concrete, have proved challenging. In this work, two methods using piezoelectric transducers are proposed to detect the bond-slip between steel plate and core concrete during the test of the beam. The first one is acoustic emission (AE) method, which can detect the dynamic process of bond-slip. AE signals can be detected when initial micro cracks form and indicate the damage severity, types and locations. The second is electromechanical impedance (EMI) method, which can be used to evaluate the damage due to bond-slip through comparing with the reference data in static state, even if the bond-slip is invisible and suspends. In this work, the experiment is implemented to demonstrate the bond-slip monitoring using above methods. Experimental results and further analysis show the validity and unique advantage of the proposed methods.

토목섬유의 동적 경계면 마찰특성 평가 (Estimation of Dynamic Interface Friction Properties of Geosynthetics)

  • 본 연구에서는 매립지에서 사용되고 있는 토목섬유 (지오멤브레인, 지오텍스타일, 토목섬유 점토 차수재) 사이의 동적 접촉 마찰 특성을 평가하기 위해서 진동대 실험을 실시하였다. 동적 하중하에서 진동대와 하부에 토목섬유가 부착된 상자의 가속도, 이들 사이의 상대적 변위를 측정하였으며, 연직응력, 진동 주파수, 건조/수침 상태가 접촉면의 동적 거동 특성에 미치는 영향도 알아보았다. 실험 결과를 통해 동적하중이 감쇠없이 토목섬유 사이를 통과하는 한계 가속도가 존재함을 확인하였으며, 이를 이용하여 토목섬유 사이의 동적 접촉 마찰각을 산정할 수 있었다. 접촉면에서의 상대 변위는 접촉면의 형태와 건조/수침 상태에 따라 다르게 측정되었다. 각 토목섬유 접촉면에 대한 최대 상대변위는 무차원으로 정규화시켜, 가속도와 최대 미끄러짐 사이의 관계식을 구하였다. 이 식을 이용하면 주어진 가속도와 주파수에서, 토목섬유 사이를 따라 발생되는 최대 미끄러짐의 크기를 예측할 수 있다.

부착응력-상대슬립을 이용한 휨균열폭 산정 (ESTIMATION OF CRACK WIDTH USING BOND STRESS-RELATIVE SLIP)

  • This paper deals with the estimation of the maximum crack widths considering bond-slip relationships based on experimental data that were tensed by axial force. It is certificated that the concrete stress condition clearly affects the bond-slip relationship. The proposed method utilizes the conventional crack and bond-slip theories as well as the characteristics of deformed reinforcement and size effects. An analytical equation for the estimation of the maximum flexural crack width is formulated as a function of minimum crack length and the coefficient of bond stress effect. The validity, accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method are established by comparing the analytical results with the experimental data and the major specifications (e.g., ACI, CEB-FIP Model code, Turocode 2, JSCE, etc.). The analytical results presented in this paper indicate that the proposed method can be effectively estimated the maximum flexural crack width of reinforced concrete.

Aqueous Processing of Textured Silicon Nitride Ceramics by Slip Casting in a Strong Magnetic Field

  • This work will report a highly textured ${\beta}-Si_3N_4$ ceramic by aqueous slip casting in a magnetic field and subsequent pressureless sintering, Effects of the sintering aids, polymer dispersant, pH and stirring time on the stability of the $Si_3N_4$ slurries were studied. The textured ${\beta}-Si_3N_4$ with 97 % relative density could be obtained by slip casting in a magnetic field of 12 T and subsequent sintering at $1800^{\circ}C$ for 1 h. The textured microstructure is featured by the alignment of c-axis of ${\beta}-Si_3N_4$ crystals perpendicular to the magnetic field, and the Lotgering orientation factor, f, is determined to be 0.8.

나노인덴테이션 해석을 통한 Ag/Cu층에서 발생하는 Misfit 전위의 slip 특성에 대한 연구 (Nanoindentation on the Layered Ag/Cu for Investigating Slip of Misfit Dislocation)

  • Ag/Cu층에서 발생하는 misfit 전위를 분석하기 위하여, EAM기법을 활용한 나노인덴테이션 해석을 수행하였다. N$\'{o}$se-Hoover 서모스텟 조건에 의거하여, 2-5nm 정도의 두께를 갖는 필름층에 구형 인덴터로 압입하였다. 해석결과는 misfit 전위에 대한 상대적인 압입위치가, 4nm이하의 필름에 대하여 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 전위에 의한 슬립 발생할 때 탄성에너지 변화는 Ag/Cu의 연화의 중요한 변수로 작용하며, 각각의 경우에 대하여 임계필름두께에 대해서도 고찰하였다.

Lumbar spine 의 뼈와 Interbody cage의 접촉면에서 기계공학적 민감성 고찰 (The Mechanical Sensitivity at Interfaces between Bone and Interbody Cage of Lumbar Spine Segments)

  • 뼈의 성장에 미치는 많은 요소들 중에서 implant의 상대적인 미세운동(relative micromotion)은 뼈의 implant와의 접합을 방해하는 것으로 알려져 왔다. 그런데 이러한 상대적인 운동 및 spinal stability에 직접적으로 영향을 주는 하중조건, spinal material의 물성치, spinal geometry 및 뼈와 implant의 접촉면에서의 마찰계수를 고려하기 위하여, 하나의 titanium interbody cage 가 삽입된 human lumbar segments (L4-L5)의 유한요소 모델이 개발되었다. 이러한 유한요소 모델의 해석을 통하여 상대적인 미세운동, Posterior의 수직적인 변위, von Mises 응력 및 마찰력이 예측되었다. Cancellous bone. annulus fibers 및 ligaments의 기계적인 물성치의 감소 또는 접촉면에서의 마찰계수의 감소는 상대적인 미세운동 (relative micromotion or slip distance)을 증가 시켰다. 접촉면에서의 normal force는 뼈의 밀도 (cancellous bone density) 가 감소하거나 접촉마찰계수가 증가하면 감소했다. 특히 하중조건에 있어서, compressive preload에 대한 torsion의 추가는 접촉면의 anterior부위에서 상대적인 미세운동을 증가 시켰다. 하지만 디스크면적이 증가할수록 상대적인 미세운동은 감소했다. 결론적으로, 접촉면의 기계공학적 거동 (Relative micromotion, stress response, posterior axial displacement and contact normal force)은 접촉면의 마찰계수 뼈의 밀도, 하중조건 및 노화에 따른 형상/물성의 변화에 매우 민감함을 보이고있다.
