The effect of crystallinity on the structural stability of layered manganese oxide has been systematically investigated. While well-crystalline manganate was prepared by solid-state reaction-ion exchange method, nanocrystalline one was obtained by Chimie-Douce reaction at room temperature. According to micro-Raman and Mn K-edge X-ray absorption spectroscopic results, manganese ions in both the manganese oxides are stabilized in the octahedral sites of the layered lattice consisting of edge-shared MnO6 octahedra. The differential potential plot clarifies that the layered structure of nanocrystalline material is well maintained during electrochemical cycling, in contrast to the well-crystalline homologue. From the micro-Raman results, it was found that delithiation-relithiation process for well-crystalline material gives rise to the structural transition from layered to spinel-type structure. On the basis of the present experimental findings, it can be concluded that nanocrystalline nature plays an important role in enhancing the structural stability of layered manganese oxides.

We investigated the relationship between vegetation type and soil carbon dynamics in even-aged alder (Alnus hirsuta) and Korean pine (Pinus koraiensis) plantations in central Korea. Both forests were located on the same soil parent material and occupied similar topographic positions. Soil $CO_2$ efflux in the two plantations was determined using a dynamic chamber method accompanied by measurements of soil moisture content and temperature. Mean soil temperature was similar in the two plantations, but mean soil water content was significantly higher in the alder plantation than in the pine plantation. In both plantations, seasonal patterns in soil $CO_2$ efflux exhibited pronounced variation that corresponded to soil temperature. Soil water content did not affect the seasonal variation in soil $CO_2$ efflux. However, in summer, when soil temperature was above $17^{\circ}C$, soil $CO_2$ efflux increased linearly with soil water content in the alder plantation. Estimated $Q_{10}$ was 3.3 for the alder plantation and 2.7 for the pine plantation. Mean soil respiration during the measurement period in the alder plantation was 0.43 g $CO_2\;m^{-2}\;h^{-1}$, which was 1.3 times higher than in the pine plantation (0.33 g $CO_2\;m^{-2}\;h^{-1}$). Higher soil $CO_2$ efflux in the alder plantation might be related to nitrogen availability, particularly the concentration of $NO_3{^-}$, which was measured using the ion-exchange resin bag method.
Electrodes of the polycationic film with electropolymerized $[Ru(v-bpy)_3]^{2+}$ having about 1:1 ratio of $PF6^-/ClO_4^-$as the doped counter ions, were modified with xylenol orange and diethylditbiocarbamate by ion exchange which had stability constant as 38.6 and 17.5 respectively. These electrodes were employed in the quantitative multiple determination of U(W) in solution. The working electrode of electrochemical cell for the analytical signal was Pt/p-$[Ru(v-bpy)_3]^{2+}$, ligand, U(VI) with Ag/AgCl reference elecrode. In the stripping voltammetry. electrode process was electron transfer controlled one and calibration curves at the ranges of $1.0{\times}10^{-3}{\sim}1.0{\times}10^{-7}$ M had excellent relationship as 0.99 and relative standard deviation as 5${\sim}$8%.

The purpose of this study is to identify demand and methods of projection, including to prove the variables affecting the fluctuation of visitors and to analyze the relationship between these variables in National Park. Statistical analysis method (Multiple Linear Regression Analysis, ANOVA, and Model diagnostics) was carried out by computer program SAS/pc. 13 variables (1. Total Population, 2. Per Capita PDI, 3. Employment Ratio of S.O.C. & others, 4. NO. of Passenger Car, 5. Length of Roads, 6. Leisure Expenditure of Farm Household, 7. Leisure Expenditure of Urban Household, 8. Price Index, 9. NO. of Bus, 10. Exchange on Dollars, 11. Export, 12. Import, and 13. Visitors in National Park) had been used to this study. The scope of time period is during the last 17 years (1970-1986). The results were as follows; 1) Participation depends only on the specific characteristics of the economic factors (Price Index and Leisure Expenditure of Urban Household). These factors are the importance factors directly affecting the participation of visitors. The statistical Model for projecting the visitors in National Parks is the function of "Visitors in National Parks (thousand)=14915+0.210311*Leisure Expenditure of Urband Household (won)-157.835619*Price Index(1985=100)" 2) The external factors affecting the participation depends upon the interelated features of availability and accessibility (NO. of Passenger Car, Length of Roads, and NO. of Bus) of recreation resources or sites, and the economic factors (Per Capita PDI, Export, and Import). These factors are the factors indirectly affecting the participation of visitors. 3) The participation depends on the specific characteristics of demographic factors (Total Population and Employment Ratio of S.O.C. & others). These factors are the factors indirectly affecting the participation of visitors. 4) The unexpected fluctuation of yearly visitors depends on oil shock or inflation (1971, 1973-1974, 1979-1980), promulgation of national emergency decrees (1971-1972, 1974-1975, 1979-1980), and national events (assassination of president Park's wife, Madame Yuk in 1974 and president Park I 1979).

This study used the functions for public benefits as a standard for evaluating Green Tourism. By referring to the existing literature, the "function of building emotion", the "function of providing a natural environment", the "function of preserving traditional cultures", and the "function of maintaining the local community" have been selected as the measuring variables. Detailed sub-variables of each function were prepared to examine and analyze the recognition of these are the part of Green Tourists. The Green Tourists of Yangsuri in Yangpyeong, Sinnonri in Yangpyeong, and Jurokri in Yeoju participated in the survey for which 13 variables were used as measurement. The results are as follows: First, Green Tourists recognize farm villages as places for rest and relaxation and they laid great importance on the function of providing access to the natural environment. Secondly, out of the 13 measurement variables, "beautiful scenery in farm village", "making a contribution to village income", and "trust in agricultural products" greatly influenced the overall evaluation of Green Tourism. Thirdly, regarding the relationship between the functions for public benefits and Green Tourism, it was found that "facilities and activities for experiencing farming", "facilities for rest", and "beautiful scenery in farm villages" are closely related to building the emotion experienced in these villages, and that "cultivating environmentally-friendly agricultural products" and "beautiful scenery in farm village" are closely related to the function of providing access to the natural environment.
The optimal condition for the production of a glucan and a fructan synthesizing enzymes from Leuconostoc mesenteroides NRRL B-1149 were studied based on the different medium compositions. Response surface methodology was applied to find the optimistic condition showing the relationship between the fermentation response (enzyme activities) and the fermentation variable concentrations of yeast extract, peptone concentration, K2HP04 concentration and sucrose. Optimum medium composition for both enzymes production was $0.75\%$ yeast extract, $0.72\%$ peptone, $1\%$ K2HP04 and $2.17\%$ sucrose. Using this medium, the activities produced in culture was 0.90 U/m~ for glucosyltransferase (GTase) and 0.96 U/ml for fructosyltransferase (FTase). After purification of 1149FTase by consecutive chromatographies using Sephadex G-150 and DEAE-Sepharose, a 1149FTase of 210 kDa on $7\%$ polyacrylamide gel was isolated and it synthesized soluble fructan. The 1149GTase showed a band of 180 kDa on $8\%$ polyacrylamide gel after purification using Bio-Gel P-100 gel chromatography and DEAE-Sepharose ion exchange chromatography and it synthesized insoluble glucan. The linkages of polymers were determined by methylation using Hakomori reagent and following NMR analysis. The glucan was composed of a(1~6) and a(1~3) linkages and the fructan was levan.
South Korea's oral health care non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have played a crucial role in South-North relations, although a formal intergovernmental relationship is difficult to establish and also easily breaks down. Humanitarian assistance by NGOs in the oral health care sector is an area that receives wide support from South Korean society for its urgency and for its appeal to humanity. This humanitarian assistance started in the late 1990's and continued to grow until the late 2000's. This assistance continued throughout the tension between the two administrations that resulted in a radical decrease in overall assistance from South Korea to North Korea. However, concerns remain about the transparency and efficiency of NGO activities. In this article, the NGOs and their major activities are delineated, and South Korean legislation is examined. A current act, the Law on the Development of South and North Korean Relations serves as a basis for governmental regulation and support of NGO's. Humanitarian assistance in the oral healthcare area is directly related to the oral health of the North Korean people, and it should not be influenced by political changes. Long-term planning and close discussions between NGOs, their North Korean counterparts, and the South Korean government are needed. NGOs need to overcome their shortcomings such as a lack of expertise and shortage of financial support. For this, NGOs must improve their administration transparency and professionalism.
This study takes a look at the distinct and exclusive culture of Latin America, with a specific focus on Mexico, and attempts to understand its unique cultural identity by comparing, analyzing, and evaluating the characteristics of the Mexican fashion brands, Taller Flora and F$\acute{a}$brica Social, which are brands that have actively used the Latin American cultural identity in its designs. The research method was as follows: 1) performing literature research with specialty publications and thesis that dealt with the two brands 2) analyzing the contents of various articles from the Internet and interviews related to the brands. Thus, this research attempts to understand the characteristics of the fashion brands that use the cultural traits of Latin America in order to dissect its methods and find a way to apply it so that it can be used in different cultures, and in effect, lead to the advancement of the fashion industries, in general. Taller Flora and F$\acute{a}$brica Social are two brands that are able to stand out with a distinct identity by applying traditional native Latin American qualities in its products, as well as its products reflecting a respectful and balanced relationship between people and nature. The characteristics of the two brands are as follows: 1) showing the concept of "the coexistence of diversity" by expressing "the old and the new", "simplicity and flash", and "melding of the Western culture via colonialism and traditional cultures of the aboriginals and other diverse native cultures" 2) achieving "the recovery of the human dignity" by protecting the human rights of the native female artisans and building a network for equality 3) pursuing "free naturalism" by balancing the natural provision of nature and man in addition to promoting environmental protection and conservation of goods 4) becoming "the bridge between communication and exchange" by connecting the artisan, the designer and the consumers together, or the producer and the market, as well as the different cultures of markets from diverse countries.
Infrared multiphoton dissociation of $CHCl_2F$ was studied using $CO_2$ laser excitation. Three products, $C_2Cl_2F_2$, $C_2ClF_3$, and $C_2HClF_2$, were identified by the analysis of the gas mixture from the photoreaction of $CHCl_2F$. The dependence of the reaction probability on added Ar gas pressure and excitation laser pulse energy was investigated. At low pressure (< 10 torr), the reaction probability increased as Ar pressure increased due to the rotational hole-filling effect, while it diminished with the increase of Ar pressure at high pressure (> > 20 torr) due to the collisional deactivation. The ratio of two products $(C_2ClF_3/C_2Cl_2F_2)$ decreased at low pressure (< 10 torr) and increased at high pressure (> 20 torr) with the increase of Ar pressure. The log-log plot of the reaction probability vs. laser pulse energy (${\\phi}$) was found to have a linear relationship, and its slope decreased as the added Ar pressure was increased. The reaction mechanisms for product formation have been suggested and validated by experimental evidences and considering the energetics. Fluorine-chlorine exchange reaction in the intermediate complex has been suggested to explain the formation of $C_2ClF_3$.

About 50% of the population and 75% of the properties concentrate on the flood plain in Japan. The rivers have intimate relationship with our lives. Those conditions have been seen after modern river improvement projects that began about a century ago. The technology which was introduced from foreign countries was improved in conformity with geographical features and the climate condition of our nation, and has redeveloped as a Japanese original technology. In 1940's, Japan had serious natural disasters that were caused by large- scale typhoons. Those typhoons wiped out everything completely. Even though the government realized the importance of flood control and management after those natural disasters, civil work still aimed to economic development. Those construction works have become the one of factors for concentrating population and degrading natural environment in urban areas. Deterioration of river environment has become serious issue in urban development and main cause of pollution. The approaches for environmental restorations which were started about 30 years ago aimed to harmonize with nature environment and cities and human lives. There have been going on many projects called 'river environmental improvement projects', the 'nature friendly river works' and 'natural restoration projects.' The society has tried to find a way to live in harmony with nature. As for societies symbiotic with habitats will form the safe country in the history and the spectacle. Such as the symbiotic of the river or the basin where discharge, water quality, nature, the history, landscape, the local society and also for culture were built in is achieved. Examples of working, applied to restoration technologies and the one to describe the mechanism construction are been shown in the paper.
