Due to economic development and advancement of medical science, an aging society where the proportion of the elderly population increases is coming. Korea's aging speed is growing rapidly compared to that of other developed countries. The physical and mental abilities of elderly people with aging are getting worse more and more. They want a kind of auxiliary system in order to mitigate and prevent their weakness. The supplementary system can greatly contribute to improving the quality of life for elderly people. In particular, some devices that include muscle strengthening and cognitive and balance ability enhancement are useful for the most older people. In this paper, we introduce a development of human care contents based rehabilitation equipment to enhance these functions, and present its usability evaluation. The evaluation is conducted for rehabilitation specialists as well as expected users and their results are analyzed.

This paper discusses the implementation of a rehabilitation center based on a ubiquitous sensor network. This paper discusses the implementation of a rehabilitation center based on a ubiquitous sensor network. We recognize that certain mild conditions requiring rehabilitation may be treated with minimal human supervision. In place of this constant human supervision, a variety of sensors are used to monitor the patient and rehabilitation progress. These sensors send data through a wireless Zigbee network to a server which stores the data and makes it available to a rehabilitation expert for analysis. This rehabilitation expert also issues rehabilitation prescriptions which are created based on the expert's determination of the patient's condition. By having the ability to control the rehabilitation equipment used, strictly enforce the assigned prescription, and constantly monitor the patient for any warning signs, the system ensures a safe and optimal rehabilitation session.
This study evaluated the community-based rehabilitation services provided by the Wonju Public Health Center from Jan. 2000 to Dec. 2002. Ninety-four persons with disabilities dwelling in the community participated and the surveys were completed in an interview during home visits. The respondents' demographic, socio-economic, and medical characteristics, rehabilitation service received, willingness to receive home-visit rehabilitation services, and satisfaction with the rehabilitation services were analyzed by frequency and percentage. A Likert scoring system consisting of five agreement-disagreement categories was applied to each item, consisting of Very Satisfied, Satisfied, So-So, Poorly Satisfied, and Very Poorly Satisfied. The major findings were as follows: 1) The rehabilitation services used included medical rehabilitation (26.9%), followed by social assistance (23.5%), diagnosis by a physician at home (17.3%), medical examination (12.3%), housekeeping services (6.2%), and vocational and educational rehabilitation (3.5%). 2) Of the medical services, the respondents desired physical therapy at home and free rental of rehabilitation equipment, such as wheelchairs, canes, walkers, the most, followed by home visit occupational therapy, nursing services, and oriental medicine service in descending order. 3) Some of the respondents expressed so-so satisfaction (50.0%) or dissatisfaction (16.9%) with the rehabilitation services provided by the Wonju Public Health Center. These findings should prove useful when planning or extending community-based rehabilitation programs for the homebound disabled in the community.

In this study, we propose a non-contact circular eddy current load brake using permanent magnet that can be applied to the rehabilitation exercise equipment. The circular eddy current load brake is manufactured and is evaluated for performance. This has the torque value of 49% compared to a "ㄷ" type eddy current load brake having a fixed load. And we confirmed that load is regulated due to the conductivity and air gap. Proposed load brake is adjustable according to the user's condition and can be applied to the equipment having advantages such as miniaturization and cost reduction.
The purpose of this study was to provide an operational model of the rehabilitation room for fire officers at disaster sites to improve the safety and resilience of fire officers. Therefore, we analyzed the operation related elements of the rehabilitation room-such as overseas rehabilitation room operation cases and previous studies- and managed different factors including, but not limited to, management and human resources, equipment and facility, and accessibility and convenience factors; afterward, the relative importance and importance of sub-layers in each field were measured. The priority of items for the operation of the rehabilitation room for fire officers at disaster sites was elucidated; after expert analysis, it was found that human resources were the most crucial factor. Finally, it was found that, in descending order, accessibility and convenience, administrative, equipment, and facility factors were also essential. Based on this, we proposed a rehabilitation room operation guideline for disaster sites.
Good stability and complete range of motion should be the ultimate goal of a rehabilitation program after ACL reconstruction. In previous years. the rehabilitation of the ACL reconstructed knee focused on protecting the new ligament by blocking terminal knee extension, hut, despite good stability, this approach led to numerous postoperative complications. Nowadays, most of surgeons agree the accelerated rehabilitation program based on the concept of ligamentization and clinical experience. Accelerated rehabilitation program consists of maintain of full extension of the knee, early weight bearing and prompt recovery of ROM, and closed kinetic chain exercise. Meeting this goal requires effective communication between-members of the health care team-the physician, physical therapist, atheletic trainer, and the patient. We have to know the importance of rehabilitation, knowlege about the physical therapy, and to introduce for special physical therapist and equipment.
This paper reviews the developmental plan of industry in the industrial present condition of Korean Assistive Technology (Rehabilitation Engineering). The discussion includes the important role that go ahead the research of present condition about the enterprise of Assistive Technology (Rehabilitaton Engineering), reinforce the standard of equipment, the enterprise requesting the enlargement of facilities must lease a low late by the bank financing, give a necessary funds to a excellent minor enterprise, support a variety custom reduce method to buy a machine parts and machinery. The education master plan for rehabilitation engineer must be necessary the national medical engineer by establishing over one department at one big city and one province Further more research studies are required to realize on the developmental plan of Assistive Technology (Rehabilitation Engineering).
We propose a new early rehabilitation training system for postural control using a tilting bed and a force plate. The conventional rehabilitation systems for postural control cannot be applied to the patients lying in bed because the rehabilitation training using those systems is possible only when the patient can stand up by himself or herself. Moreover, there has not existed any device that could provide the sense of balance or the sensation of walking to the patients in bed. By using a tilting bed, a visual display, and a force plate, we have developed a new rehabilitation training system for balance control of the patients in bed providing sense of balance and the sensation of walking to the patient. Through the experiments with real people, we verified the effectiveness of the new early rehabilitation training system. The results showed that this system is an effective system for the early rehabilitation training and that our system might be useful as clinical equipment.

In this paper, we propose a method for correcting the measurement axis twist that occurs in the process of wearing and each estimation method of joint in which the inertial measurement unit based in health arm by the method of operation upper limb rehabilitation equipment of hemiplegic patients. In order to verify the proposed method, it is fitted with a inertial measurement unit of the upper arm and forearm of the experimenter left arm, verified by comparing actual joint angle is detected by photographing the arbitrary posture, the angle that the estimated joint. Then, it was verified by comparing the applied front / rear techniques for correcting the measurement axis twist. A result of the experiment, before applying the measurement axis twist correction, joint, after but each match rate showed a weak concordance rate in 89.16% and were corrected, measurement axis twist, each concordance rate of joint agreement of 93.28% I understand that it has been 4.12% improvement in the rate.

Demand of moving auxiliary equipment has increased recently to an increase in the elderly population. pedestrian demand is either moving auxiliary equipment are also increasing. regional migration, such as pedestrian and the elderly and patients is a device to support the sharing received walking the weight of inconvenient people. In this paper, by mounting the electric function to the current manual walking, to prepare the electric walking to support the user's walking. the design applies a lightweight folding structure so that it can be moved to a ride at long distances, were fabricated.
