  • This study analyzes the problems of environmental laws, development planning laws, Metropolitan Area Development Planning(MADP), and the level of environmental pollution at Pusan and Asan-Bay Metropolitan Area where MADP will be realized in the near future. In order to prevent the environmental pollution by realization of MADP, Environmental Impact Assessment Act and environmental impact assessment systems in Korea should be revised so as to reflect the followings. First, the impact of national landuse planning change on the environment should be considered at the beginning of environmental impact assessment procedures. Second, the overlapping and greater impact of many projects, whose part is the subject of environmental impact assessment, upon surrounding metropolitan area should be simultaneously evaluated and the environmental pollution protection and abatement alternatives must be made according to the above impact of the projects. Thirdly, total effluent regulation of water pollution, air pollution and solid wastes should be enforced based on the self-purification of the metropolitan area environment.

  • Wien Automatic System Planning Package (WASP) which is used to draw out generation expansion planning applies Dynamic Programming in Korea power system panning. While this package has an advantage that computes annual capacity, it has a disadvantage that can't consider environmental constraints. With the effectuation of the Kyoto Protocol in February, 2005, it is expected that CO2 emission has a severe effect on Korean power system. Therefore, as the most important issue, the generation expansion planning considering environmental constraints is rising in power system. This paper develops a mathematic model including not only generation expansion planning but transmission planning and considering regional supply-demand and environmental constraints, especially CO2 emission, and verifies propriety through the case study.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore and compare the regional characteristics of textile industries and corresponding education systems in Korea and Italy. The Italian textile industry is well known for its continuous development of high quality textile fabrics and aesthetic fashion design. One of contributing factors for the success of Italian textile industry is its regional specialization of the industry and corresponding education systems. In particular, the regional education systems in Italy are designed to educate and supply labors necessary to the development of the regional textile industries. According to the study, this characteristic is well shown in their curriculum which emphasizes the practicality and corporation with the industry. In contrast, the Korean education system for the textile industry ignores the regional specialization and its curriculum is designed, in large part, to produce textile designers. This causes difficulties in meeting the various demands from the industry such as the textile planning, textile production, and textile marketing and sales. To solve the problems, we must encourage the industrial-educational corporation to promote the practicality of the textile education system and make diversification and specialization of the curriculum of textile education to cultivate men of talent, such as merchandisers, fashion coordinators, converters, stylists, and displayer, necessary to the development of the Korean textile industry.

  • The purpose of this paper is to estimate the economic value of Multi-functionality Roles including landscape and so on, which traditional stone fences in Korea possess, using Dichotomous Choice Contingent Valuation Method (DC-CVM). The stone fences is life cultural heritance of regional residents. It has functions like Development of Favorable Landscapes, Maintenance of Cultural Heritage, and Recreation/Relaxation. Expectation from regional visitors shows that the existence and inheritance value of the stone wall is higher then we expected. According to the research that we had done from the people that had agreed to contribute the stone wall. moreover the public commercial value of regional tradition stone was not only 2,900 billion won but also it will increase an economic gain in every year. Therefore, preserving the stone wall that has Multi-functional Roles and values can lead to huge economic value in the future. But farmhouses in the stone wall conservation area are being supported 9 billion won in every year. This is only 0.03% of the income that farmhouse earns per year. Thus, stone wall preservation policy and plan can raise green-tour commercial value of inland area as a long-term inside measurement. Those will have to be propelled continuously.

  • This study deals with shopping value and trust as the factors to influence consumer attitude and purchase intention in online shopping. Utilitarian and hedonic shopping values, trust, attitude and purchase intention are incorporated into the Value-Attitude-Behavior model to find out how differently shopping values and trust influence online shoppers attitude and purchase intention when they have different purchase experiences. Data are collected from survey of 187 subjects and divided into two groups according to their online purchase experiences : 97 shoppers with low online purchase experiences and 89 with high experiences. PLS(Partial Least Square) method is applied to estimate the research model and to test 7 hypotheses. The results show the difference of the way how shopping value and trust influence purchase intention. In the case of low experienced online shoppers, trust has the greatest influence purchase intention, followed by hedonic shopping value mediated by attitude. However utilitarian shopping values have a bigger impact on it for shoppers with high purchase experiences. In the latter, trust also has a significant impact on purchase intention at confidence level of 0.05. The results also provide useful implications for practitioners to build and manage their marketing strategies. Managers of online shopping mall should react to the different shopping value by shopper's experience.

  • This study reviews and modifies general IS success models to find success factors of WIS(Web-based Information Systems) and to confirm the relationship between WIS success and user's satisfaction of web use. A WISSM(Web-based Information Success Model extended to include EQ(E-Quality) is developed to anticipate user's intention to use Web-based Agricultural Information System and fit into the survey data from 252 WIS users of RDA(Rural Development Administration). PLS is applied to estimate a structural model based on EQ-WISSM to test hypotheses including 1) users reach a high level of intention to use Web-based Information Systems when they feel a high level of interactivity among an 'E-Quality', 'Decision Making Support Satisfaction' and 'Task Support Satisfaction', and E-Quality boosts intention to use Web-based Information Systems. The results show high path coefficients and $R^2$ values and find followings; First, the EQ-WISSM explains the user's intention to use WAIS quite well. Second, E-Quality can be used well in web-based IS environment to predict IS Success. Finally, this research finds the importance of 'Task Support Satisfaction' as a mediator between 'Decision Making Support Satisfaction', 'E-Quality' and 'Intention to Use'.
