2.2L 직분사 디젤 엔진에서 LNT 촉매 재생을 위한 환원제 분사 방법 비교 (Comparison of the LNT Regeneration Methods in 2.2L Common Rail Direct Injection Diesel Engine)

  • In this study we investigated the regeneration methods for the lean $NO_x$ trap (LNT) catalyst in a 2.2L direct injection diesel engine. The regeneration methods were 1) in-cylinder post fuel injection and 2) external fuel injection strategy. The in-cylinder post fuel injection method uses in-cylinder injectors with the addition of the post fuel injection to supply enough reductants such as CO, $H_2$, THC. The external fuel injection method was enabled by installing a fuel injector with a wide spray angle before the LNT catalyst. Through the engine experiment, the $NO_x$ conversion efficiency, the amount of reductant exhaust gases, fuel consumption, and temperature behavior in the LNT catalyst were evaluated and compared for the two regeneration methods.

탄소침적으로 피독된 탈질 촉매의 재생에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Regeneration of SCR Catalyst Deactivated by Unburned Carbon Deposition)

  • 폐 목재 소각 보일러 배가스로부터 질소산화물을 저감하기 위하여 설치된 선택적촉매환원 공정의 시운전 중에 전단에 설치된 여과포의 일부 소실이 발생되었다. 여과포 소실에 따른 불완전 연소 가스는 2단으로 설치된 저온 탈질촉매 표면을 미연탄소로 침적시켜 촉매의 탈질 효율을 급격히 저감시켰다. 활성 저하의 원인 분석을 위하여 XRD, EDX, BET, TGA, SEM 등 다양한 특성 분석을 실시하였다. 재생 방법으로 산 세척, 초음파 수 세척, 공기 중 소성의 방법을 적용한 결과, 공기분위기에서 $450^{\circ}C$로 2시간 소성하는 것이 최적조건 임을 밝혀내었다. 재생된 촉매는 2 cm ${\times}$ 2 cm ${\times}$ 10 cm(촉매 무게 10 g) Honeycomb 촉매 시료를 이용하여 활성을 측정한 결과 사용 전 촉매와 동일한 수준의 활성인 $180^{\circ}C$에서 NOx저감 효율 100%를 나타내었다.

  • Supercritical fluid technology was applied to the regeneration of industrial catalyst contaminated with toxic materials. The regeneration process of activated loaded with phenol was proposed, then the adsorphon tower was packed with the activated carbon-bed. Phenol diffuses into supercritical carbon dioxide(SCC) through the micro-pore and voldge of the activated carbon. The saturated solubility of phenol in SCC depended on the density of SCC varing with temperature and pressure conditions. Therefore, the fasile phase equilibrium calculation model of dxpanded liquid One was proposed, and equilibrium solubility of phenol in SCC was calculated using the model theoretically. The regeneration mechanism of activated carbon was analysed by degree of saturation of phenol and diffusion in SCC. The solubility prediction was more satisfactory for the wide range of SCC density than the dense gas model and the desorption of phenol depended on the degree of saturation of phenol in SCC.

배연 탈질용 폐촉매의 재생에 관한 연구 (Regeneration of Used Commercial Catalyst for deNOx Emitted from Stationary Sources)

  • 사용이 끝난 폐촉매의 NO 제거 활성은 새 촉매의 약 27%로 크게 저하되어 있었다. 폐촉매의 비표면적은 새로운 촉매의 약 63%로서 활성소실의 주 원인은 소결에 의한 표면적 감소, 촉매표면의 활성물질의 농도저하, 중금속에 의한 활성점의 피독 등으로 판단된다. 폐촉매의 재생은 주로 피독 물질의 제거에 중점을 두었는데, $80^{\circ}C$ 물을 이용하여 30분에서 2시간 처리하여 재생한 촉매가 가장 좋은 효과를 보였으며 이는 중금속 K와 Na가 제거된 때문으로 판단된다. 새로운 촉매를 기준으로 하였을 때 폐촉매의 표면적당 재생된 활성은 약 79%이었으나 질량당 재생된 활성은 약 49%이었다.

  • Attrition characteristics of WGS catalysts for pre-combustion $ CO_2$ capture were investigated to check attrition loss of those catalysts, to check change of particle size distribution during attrition tests, and to determine solid circulation direction of WGS catalysts in a SEWGS system. The cumulative attrition losses of two catalysts increased with increasing time. However, attrition loss under humidified condition was lower than that under non-humidified condition case for long-term attrition tests. Between two catalysts, attrition loss of PC-29 catalyst was higher than that of commercial catalyst for long-term attrition tests. However, the commercial catalyst generated much more fines than PC-29 catalyst during attrition. Therefore, we conclude that the PC-29 catalyst is more suitable for fluidized bed operation if we take into account the separation efficiency of cyclone. Based on the results from the tests for the effect of humidity on the attrition loss, we selected solid circulation direction from SEWGS reactor to regeneration reactor because the SEWGS reactor contains more water vapor than regeneration reactor.

소각로 SCR 폐탈질 촉매의 피독과 효율재생에 관한 연구 (Deactivation and Regeneration of a Used De-NOx SCR Catalyst for Wastes Incinerator)

  • 소각로에서 발생한 다이옥신 및 질소산화물 제거용 폐탈질 촉매($V_2O_5/TiO_2$)의 비활성화 원인을 규명하고자 반응 활성 실험 및 물리 화학적 특성 분석을 수행하였으며, 다양한 재생방법을 통한 폐탈질 촉매의 재생효율을 연구하였다. 고정층 실험 결과 $260^{\circ}C$를 기준으로 약 60% 정도 질소산화물 제거 활성 차이를 보였으며, 허니컴 실험의 경우 1, 2-Dichlorobenzen (1, 2-DCB) 분해효율이 $200^{\circ}C$에서 약 14% 정도 차이가 나타났다. 또한 촉매의 비활성화 원인을 연구하기 위해서 신촉매와 폐촉매에 대하여 XRD, TGA, 그리고 ICP의 특성 분석을 실시한 결과 황산 암모늄염, 중금속(Pb, As 등), 전이금속(Fe 등), 알칼리 금속(Ca), 그리고 상전이가 촉매의 비활성화 원인으로 조사되었다. 또한, 폐촉매의 재생을 위해 다양한 방법으로 처리한 결과 수세과정을 배제한 공기분위기에서 열처리한 경우 우수한 재생효과를 나타내었다.

  • A study has been carried out of the regenerability of a commercial Ni catalyst used in the steam reforming of the volatiles from biomass pyrolysis (gases and bio-oil), determining the evolution of the reaction indices (conversion, product yields and $H_2$ production) in successive reaction-regeneration cycles. The causes of catalyst deactivation (coke deposition and Ni sintering) have been ascertained characterizing the deactivated and regenerated catalysts by TPO, TEM, TPR and XRD. Catalyst activity is not fully recovered by coke combustion in the first cycles due to the irreversible deactivation by Ni sintering, but the catalyst reaches a pseudo-stable state beyond the fourth cycle, reproducing its behaviour in subsequent cycles.

상용 탈질 SCR 폐촉매의 현장 재생 효과 고찰 (A Study on the In situ Regeneration Effects of Commercial Deactivated SCR Catalyst)

  • 상용 중유 발전소 배가스에 장기간 노출되어 활성이 현저히 저하된 탈질 SCR 폐촉매를 대상으로 현장 시스템을 모사하여 증류수 및 산성용액에 의한 세척과정을 거쳐 모사된 현장 조건으로 촉매를 재생하였다. 산성용액의 제조조건 및 처리조건에 따른 촉매의 물성변화를 확인하였고 질소산화물($NO_x$) 전환 촉매 활성 실험을 수행하여 촉매성능 변화를 고찰하였다. 촉매의 특성분석은 BET, Porosimeter, EDX (Energy Dispersive X-ray spectrometer), ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma) 등을 이용하여 수행하였고, $NO_x$ 전환 반응실험은 중유 발전소 배가스를 모사하여 마이크로 반응기에서 SCR 반응을 수행하였다. 촉매특성 분석결과 재생된 촉매의 경우 비표면적은 신품 촉매 대비 95% 이상 회복되었고, $NO_x$ 전환활성은 산성용액 농도 3~6 M 범위에서 신품 촉매 대비 90% 이상을 회복한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 촉매활성의 향상은 산성용액에 의한 촉매표면의 불순물들이 제거되면서 일어난 결과로 밝혀졌다.

합성가스(Reforming gas)를 이용한 멀티채널 CDPF의 재생 특성 연구 (Studies on Reforming Gas Assisted Regeneration of Multi-channel Catalyzed DPF)

  • Diesel particulate filter (DPF) systems are being used to reduce the particulate matter emission of diesel vehicles. The DPF should be regenerated after certain driving hours or distance to eliminate soot in the filter. The most widely used method is active regeneration with oxygen at $550{\sim}650^{\circ}C$. Syngas (synthetic gas) can be used to lower the regeneration temperature of Catalyzed DPF (CDPF). The syngas is formed by fuel reforming process of CPOx (Catalytic Partial Oxidation) at specific engine condition (1500rpm, 2bar) using 1wt.% $Rh/CeO_2-ZrO_2$ catalyst. The oxidation characteristics of PM with syngas supplied to filter were studied using partial flow system that can control temperature and flow rate independently. The filter is coated with washcoat loading of $25g/ft^3$ $Pt/Al_2O_3-CeO_2$, and multi-channel CDPF (MC-CDPF) was used. The filter regeneration experiments were performed to investigate the effect of syngas exothermic reaction on soot oxidation in the filter. For this purpose, before oxidation experiment, PM was collected about 8g/L to the filter at engine condition of 1500rpm, bmep 8bar and flow temperature of $200^{\circ}C$ Various conditions of temperature and concentration of syngas were used for the tests. Regeneration of filter started at 2% $H_2$ and CO concentration respectively and inlet temperature of $260^{\circ}C$. Filter Regeneration occurs more actively as the syngas concentration becomes higher.

승용디젤엔진의 연료분사 제어를 통한 LNT 촉매의 NOx 저감 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on NOx Reduction Characteristics of LNT Catalyst with Fuel Injection Control in Light-duty Diesel Engine)

  • Lean NOx Trap (LNT) catalysts are capable of reducing exhaust NOx emissions from diesel engines. LNT stores NOx in lean condition and exhausts N2 by reducing NOx in rich condition. NOx reduction characteristic of LNT catalysts using throttle position sensor and fuel injection timing control for light-duty diesel engine was investigated. In contrast to SCR system, LNT catalyst uses diesel fuel in resuctant. Also if the concentration of reductant is exceeded, excessive amount of reductant will slip throughout LNT and cause another emission problem. Thus LNT regeneration with precise engine control established that can make higher NOx conversion efficiency and lower fuel penalty, prevent another emission problem. NOx and reductant concentration were measured by the NOx sensor and Mexa7100D equipped inlet and outlet of catalyst. As a result of engine test, regeneration strategy has reached high of 77.8% NOx conversion efficiency according to engine operation condition. Moreover, we have proved that it is possible to use regeneration strategy of LNT within 5% fuel penalty.
