마이크로 휜 증발관내 냉매 R-290의 열전달 특성에 미치는 냉동유의 영향 (Influence of Refrigeration Oil on Evaporation Heat Transfer Characteristics of R-290 Inside Micro Fin Tube)

  • Recently, micro fin tube is widely used to heat exchanger for high performance. And, as the alternative refrigerants for R-22, hydrocarbons such as R-290, R-600 and R-600a are very promising because of their low GWP and ODP. Thus, R-290 was used as working fluid in this study. Most design of heat exchanger had been based on heat transfer characteristics of pure refrigerant although refrigerant oil exists in the refrigeration cycles. So, the influence of oil on heat transfer characteristics have to be considered for investigating exact evaporation heat transfer characteristics. But, this is an unresolved problem of refrigeration heat transfer. Therefore the influence of the refrigeration oil to the evaporation heat transfer characteristics of R-290 were conducted in a horizontal micro tin tube. The mineral oil was used as refrigeration oil. The experimental apparatus consisted of a basic refrigeration cycle and a system for oil concentration measurement. Test conditions are as the follows; evaporation temperature $5^{\circ}C$, mass velocity 100 $kg/m^2s$, heat flux 10 $kW/m^2$, oil concentration 0, 1.3, 3.3, 5.7 wt.%, and quality $0.07{\sim}1.0$. When refrigeration oil was entered, oil foaming was observed at the low quality region. And, very small bubbles were observed as quality was increased. Pressure drop and heat transfer coefficient increased as the concentration of refrigeration oil increased to 5 wt.%.. The performance index of heat exchanger was the highest near 3.3 wt.%.

  • A series of numerical simulation has been carried out to study thermo-hydraulic characteristics of a primary surface type heat exchanger, which is designed for the evaporator and condenser of a geothermal ORC. Working fluid is geothermal water at hot side and R-245fa, which is a refrigerant designed for ORC, at cold side. Aspect ratio of the channel and Reynolds number are considered as design parameters. Nusselt number is presented for the Reynolds number ranging from 50 to 150 and compared to existing correlations. The result shows that higher aspect ratio channel gives better heat transfer performance within the range of investigation.

  • This paper is to provide analysis model that can be used to investigate the improvement in energy efficiency for cooling tower by using fresh air. Numerical analysis of Air-cooled heat exchanger for single-phase flow with variations of outdoor air temperature has been performed. A complete set of correlations of the heat transfer in both refrigerant and air sides was employed for predicting the heat transfer rate. The numerical results derived from the correlations were verified with experimental results. The energy consumption for a hybrid cooling tower has been compared for variation of a outdoor air temperature. The results showed that the hybrid cooling tower in low outdoor temperature offers a significant improvement in energy efficiency. The thermal analysis aids significantly in the solution of the design problem of hybrid cooling tower.

  • The performance of automobile air conditioning systems of R1234yf was evaluated and compared with that of R134a. In particular, the performance evaluation was carried out by installing an internal heat exchanger in order to improve the performance of the system used in R1234yf. A performance comparison between the R1234yf and R134a for automotive air conditioning revealed that the cooling capacity and COP of the 1234yf system without the IHX decreased by up to 7% and 4.5%, respectively, but those with the IHX decreased by up to 1.8% and 2.9%, respectively.

  • Chracteristics on evaporating pressure drop of HCs refrigerants inside a horizontal tube were studied experimentally. Experimental results were presented for pressure drops of hydrocarbon refrigerants R-290, R-600a, R-1270 and HCFC refrigerant R-22 inside a horizontal double pipe heat exchanger. Three tubes with a tube diameter of 12.70mm, 9.52mm and 6.35mm were used for this study. Hydrocarbon refrigerants showed higher evaporating pressure drop than that of R-22 in all tubes. The highest pressure drop was founded in R-600a. The highest evaporating perssure drop of all refrigerants was shown in a tube diameter of 6.35mm with same mass flux. The results can be used as the basic data for the design of heat exchanger using hydrocarbon refrigerants as an alternatives.

Evaporation Pressure Drop Characteristics with R-22 in the Plate and Shell Heat Exchangers

  • In this study, evaporation pressure drop experiments were conducted with two types of plate and shell heat exchangers (P&SHE) using R-22. An experimental refrigerant loop has been established to measure the evaporation pressure drop of R-22 in a vertical P&SHE. The flow channels were formed by stacking three plates having a corrugated channel of a chevron angle of 45 dog. The R-22 flows down in one channel exchanging heat with the hot water flowing up in the other channel. The effect of the refrigerant mass flux, average heat flux, system pressure and vapor quality were explored in detail. During the experiment, the quality change between the inlet and outlet of the refrigerant channel ranges from 0.03 to 0.15. The present data showed that two types of P&SHE have similar trends. The pressure drop in-creases with the vapor quality for both types of P&SHE. At a higher mass flux, the Pressure drop is higher for the entire range of the vapor quality. Also, the increase in the average heat flux increases the pressure drop. Finally, at a higher system pressure, the pressure drop is found to be slightly lower compared to the lower system pressure.

  • This paper presents the heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics during cooling process of carbon dioxide in a horizontal tube. The test section is a tube in tube type heat exchanger with refrigerant flowing in the inner tube and water flowing in the annulus. It was made of a stainless steel tube with the inner diameter of 7.75 [mm], the outer 2 diameter of 9.53 [mm] and length of 6000 [mm]. The refrigerant mass fluxes were $200{\sim}400$ [kg/$m^2s$] and the average pressure varied from 7.5 [MPa] to 10.0 [MPa]. The main results were summarized as follows The heat transfer coefficient of supercritical $CO_2$ increases in decrease of the gas cooler pressure. And the heat transfer coefficient increases with respect to the increase of the refrigerant mass flux. Among some correlations proposed in a transcritical region, Bringer-Smith's correlation has some analogy with experimental results. The pressure drop decreases in increase of the gas cooler pressure and increases with respect to increase the refrigerant mass flux.

  • The purpose of this study is a heat transfer coefficient test of evaporator tube in shell and tube heat exchanger by shapes, using R-404A. The experimental apparatus is designed to simulate the real heat transfer rate in one shell and tube heat exchanger. The test section is formed four type tubes that are Inner ridged tube, Corrugated tube, Turbo-C tube, Inner fin tube and shell type is formed by electrical heater. All tests were performed at a fixed refrigerant evaporator temperature at $1.5^{\circ}C,\;-3^{\circ}C$ and with mass fluxes of 29, 25 kg/hr. Heat transfer rate is calculated a enthalpy difference in test section. In experiment, heat transfer coefficient measured one by one and electrical heaters are supplemented by evaporator.

  • 본 연구에서는 상용 냉동 공조기기에서 사용하고 있는 휜-관 열교환기에서 R22와 이의 대체냉매로 채용하고 있는 R134a 압력강하와 열전달 특성에 대해 실험적으로 연구하였다. 실험은 입구온도 $60^{\circ}C$, 질량유량 $150,\;200,\;250\;kg/m^{2}s$의 범위에 대해 수행하였다. 이때 공기의 유입조건은 전구온도 $35^{\circ}C$, 상대습도 40%, 공기유속은 $0.68{\sim}1.6m/s$이다. 실험 결과 응축기 출구의 과냉도를 $5^{\circ}C$로 유지한 경우 Rl34a의 필요공기유속은 R22보다 5.9%작게 나타났으며, R134a의 압력강하는 R22보다 $18.1{\sim}20.4%$의 범위 내에서 크게 나타났다.

  • The ambient air is commonly used as low-temperature heat sources for heat pump operation. However, the coefficient of performance (COP) of the air -water heat pump is decreased with the ambient air temperature drop. In this study to solve this problem , the AVACTHE(Automatic Variable Area Capillary Type Heat Exchanger) with 3 levels of heat exchange area(0, 1495.4, 1794.5$\textrm{cm}^2$) was installed in the refrigerant circuit of the heat pump. The AVACTHE effect on the performance of heat pump was tested with the ambient air temperature variation. The high level COP of the heat pump could be achieved by the AVACTHE installation when below -5$^{\circ}C$ of the ambient air temperature.
