A Study on Input Multiplexer for Ku-Band Satellite Transponder (Ku 대역 위성 중계기용 입력 멀티플렉서에 관한 연구)

  • This paper deals with the design and manufacturing technique of EQM(Engineering Qualification Model) of input multiplexer(IMUX) for the Ku-band satellite transponder. Channel dropping method by circulator chain structure is adopted for demultiplexing each channel. External equalizers are attached behind channel filters fur reduction of group delay variation and amplitude variation simultaneously. Both channel filters and equalizers adopted dual-mode technique in design f3r mass and volume reduction. Channel filters are designed to have 8-pole elliptic response and equalizers to be of 2-pole reflection type. For good temperature stability characteristics, INVAR36 material is used for channel filters and external equalizers. Vibration test, Thermal Vacuum Test, and EMC test have been performed on input multiplexer and it is shown to be suitable for Ku-band satellite transponder.

  • Clothes and human body are inseparably related. Aesthetic consciousness of the body determines the form of clothing, reflecting the time and culture as well as the individual and society. Clothes can even reorganize the meaning of the body, while transcending their instrumental functions of protecting, expanding and deforming the body. Using 'body' to analyze the clothing form, my study develops a framework by which to classify the representation of the body in fashion focusing on the representation of physicality. In order to inquire the formative style and aesthetic values expressed in representing body in fashion, my study examines subjects from the 14th century European costumes to fashion collections of the 20th century. In fashion, representation of the body is visually analogous to the ideal boily shape and structure, including a realistic presentation of the body as well as reflection of aesthetic ideals. Manipulation of physicality entails the reconstruction of the ideal body image through the clothes that modify physicality into unnatural body. Ruff collar, gigot sleeve, crinoline, bustle, stomacher, and corset were all used to materialize the fictitious curves symbolizing femininity, authority, healthiness, maternity, virginity, socioeconomic status, and fertility. Accentuating specific clothing parts represents emphasizing the symbolism of the correspondent body parts. Consequently, in this phase signifiant is $signifi\'{e}$. Aesthetic ideal of the body is visualized in the firm of a dress. Fashion continues to explore forms and images that transcend the traditional representations of the clothed body. As a type of intimate architecture, fashion always mediates the dialogue between clothes and body, or fashion and figure. My study suggests a framework to analyze bodily representation in fashion, focusing on the relationship between the clothes and body.

DEFECT DETECTION WITHIN A PIPE USING ULTRASOUND EXCITED THERMOGRAPHY

  • An UET (ultrasound excited thermography) has been used for several years for a remote non-destructive testing in the automotive and aircraft industry. It provides a thermo sonic image for a defect detection. A thermograhy is based On a propagation and a reflection of a thermal wave, which is launched from the surface into the inspected sample by an absorption of a modulated radiation. For an energy deposition to a sample, the UET uses an ultrasound excited vibration energy as an internal heat source. In this paper the applicability of the UET for a realtime defect detection is described. Measurements were performed on two kinds of pipes made from a copper and a CFRP material. In the interior of the CFRP pipe (70mm diameter), a groove (width - 6mm, depth - 2.7mm, and length - 70mm) was engraved by a milling. In the case of the copper pipe, a defect was made with a groove (width - 2mm, depth - 1mm, and length - 110 mm) by the same method. An ultrasonic vibration energy of a pulsed type is injected into the exterior side of the pipe. A hot spot, which is a small area around the defect was considerably heated up when compared to the other intact areas, was observed. A test On a damaged copper pipe produced a thermo sonic image, which was an excellent image contrast when compared to a CFRP pipe. Test on a CFRP pipe with a subsurface defect revealed a thermo sonic image at the groove position which was a relatively weak contrast.

Magnetic Properties of NiZn-ferrite Synthesized from The Refined Waste Iron Oxide Catalyst (정제된 산화철 폐촉매로부터 합성된 NiZn-페라이트의 자기적 특성)

  • NiZn-ferrites were synthesized from the waste catalysts. which were by product of styrene monomer process and buried underground as an industrial wastes, and their magnetic properties were investigated. Nickel oxide and zinc oxide powders were mixed with finely ground waste catalysts, and spinel type ferrite was obtained by calcination at 900℃ and sintering at 1325℃ for 5 hours. The initial permeabilities were measured and reflection losses were calculated from S-parameters for the composition of Ni/sub x/Zn/sub 1-x/Fe₂O₄(x=0.36, 0.50, 0.66) and (Ni/sub 0.5/Zn/sub 0.5)/sub 1-y/Fe/sub 2+y/O₄(y=-0.02, 0, 0.02).

The Single-Side Textured Crystalline Silicon Solar Cell Using Dielectric Coating Layer (절연막을 이용한 단면 표면조직화 결정질 실리콘 태양전지)

  • Many researches have been carried out to improve light absorption in the crystalline silicon solar cell fabrication. The rear reflection is applied to increase the path length of light, resulting in the light absorption enhancement and thus the efficiency improvement mainly due to increase in short circuit current. In this paper, we manufactured the silicon solar cell using the mono crystalline silicon wafers with $156{\times}156mm^2$, 0.5~3.0 ${\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ of resistivity and p-type. After saw damage removal, the dielectric film ($SiN_x$)on the back surface was deposited, followed by surface texturing in the KOH solution. It resulted in single-side texturing wafer. Then the dielectric film was removed in the HF solution. The silicon wafers were doped with phosphorus by $POCl_3$ with the sheet resistance 50 ${\Omega}/{\Box}$ and then the silicon nitride was deposited on the front surface by the PECVD with 80nm thickness. The electrodes were formed by screen-printing with Ag and Al paste for front and back surface, respectively. The reflectance and transmittance for the single-sided and double-sided textured wafers were compared. The double-sided textured wafer showed higher reflectance and lower transmittance at the long wavelength region, compared to single-sided. The completed crystalline silicon solar cells with different back surface texture showed the conversion efficiency of 17.4% for the single sided and 17.3% for the double sided. The efficiency improvement with single-sided textured solar cell resulted from reflectance increase on back surface and light absorption enhancement.

A Study on Dyeing of Gray Tone Utilizing Green Tea (녹차에 의한 회색계열 염색에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to attain gray tone dyed goods by using tannin that is contained in green tea. Tannin is given general name of polyphenol, which has a characteristic that bonds with protein and it is used for food preservative that protects against bacteria, as well as its purpose of black tone dye for silk treatment that has been processed since its early ages. In particular, as tannin reacts with all kinds of metallic mordant and changes to various colors, when tannin acid is combined with iron, it becomes tannin steel and produces gray tone color. Tannin that is contained in green tea is condensed tannins and its structure does not hydrolyze, thus having flavan type structure. In order to find the suitable condition for processing tannin, UV-Vis part absorption spectrum of green tea tannin, dye ability based on temperature and time, reflection rate based on concentration, color changes based on acid treatment and alkali treatment, changes on surface based on concentration or metal mordant condition, and lightfastness were measured. Maximum absorption wavelength (${\lambda}_{max}$) of green tea tannin was at around 273nm, while strong absorption was also observed at below 350 nm. Dye ability of green tea tannin is done more easily on silk rather than cellulose fibers such as cotton, while the optimum condition for dyeing was observed to be at $60^{\circ}C$, for 20 minutes. As a result of acid treatment, the color of dye material consisted highly of gray tones and showed overall gray tone with the combined color of yellow and red after the alkali treatment. While it was observed that as dye concentration and metal mordant concentration increased, the color changed at counter-clockwise direction on the Y-scale of Munsell's scale of colors. Additionally, lightfastness was more on a normal fading.

A Study on Body Painting according to Physical Types (신체적 유형에 따른 바디페인팅 연구)

  • Body painting according to physical types is a method to express the body as it exists in nature or as an active element of nature. There is a need to research physical formation that applies the trend of contemporary naturalism to the types of nature art by emphasizing the artistic value of body painting with natural environmental overtones. Importantly, body painting according to physical types attempts an intact reproduction of natural objects and the reflection of the beauty of natural objects in body painting. Thus, the purpose of this study was to analyze body painting according to physical types based on the types of nature art. The methodology of the study included theoretical and empirical review. Theoretical review examined the characteristics of physical formation in nature art and relevant nature art works and body painting of physical types through previous research and literature. The empirical review applied analyses to works extracted from web sites of body painting. The study included physical type cases extracted from body painting works from 2005 to 2015 in foreign web sites(www.ilovebodyart.com and www.angel cakebodyart.com). Body painting works were based on the characteristics of physical types. As a result, the body painting of physical types based on nature art is as follows. First, organic continuity with nature art through the artists'thoughts and beliefs. Second, the specificity of place that respects the natural phenomenon itself. Third, the creative diversity of formative shapes for the body. Fourth, the social implications of body painting with human empathy. Fifth, immediacy to embody the artistic will of the artist. Finally, the application of physical types according to affinity with nature, as well as an independent artistic entity.

단일 이온 빔 증착법을 이용한 $MgF_2$$ZrO_2$ 박막의 제조

  • 재료의 광학적 특성을 변화시키기 위한 표면 코팅의 사용을 잘 알려져 있다. 그리고 이러한 광학 코팅은 우리가 주위에서 볼 수 있는 렌즈에서부터 레이저반사경 다 나아가 다양한 광학 필터에 이르기까지 빛의 간섭을 이용한 광학 박막의 코팅은 폭넓게 이용되고 있다. 그러한 응용가운데 불필요한 표면 반사를 방지함으로써 전체 투과율을 강화시키기 위한 무반사(Anti-Reflection) 코팅은 오늘날 광대역 무반사 특성 등 다양한 광학적 요구에 따라 하나 또는 그 이상의 층을 형성함으로써 극적으로 성취할 수 있다. 본 실험은 기존 많이 활용되는 증발법 그리고 스퍼터링 방법과는 달리 고진공하에서 증착 변수를 효과적으로 제어, 박막을 형성할 수 있는 자체 제작된 단일 IBS(Ion Beam Sputtering) 시스템을 이용하여 우수한 광학적 특성을 갖는 광학 재료로써 무반사용 다층박막 형성하기 앞서 MgF2, ZrO2 (yttria stabilized zirconia) 단층 박막을 제조하였으며, 각 증착 변수에 따른 결정학적 및 광학적 특성을 관찰하였다. 본 실험에 사용된 제조 장비로 Kaufman type 2.5inch의 이온 건이 장착된 Ion Beam sputtering 시스템으로 초기 진공도는 5$\times$10-6orr이며, 이온 빔의 전류 밀도는 Fareday cup을 이용했다. 6inch 크기의 ZrO2(yttria stabilized zirconia), MgF2 타겟트를 이용하여 Si(100), glass 기판위에 박막을 성장시켰다. 각 타겟트에 대한 증착변수로 이온 에너지, 기판온도, Ar 가스량을 변화시키면서 박막을 제조하였다. 제조된 박막의 광학적 특성으로 가시 영역에서 투과율의 변화는 자외/가시광선 분광 분석기 (UV/VIS specrophotometer)를 이용하여 측정했다. 그리고 박막의 조성 및 결정학적 구조는 AES EDS와 XRD로 확인하였다. 이온 빔 전압 500V, 빔 저류 55mA일 때 온도는 상온에서 30$0^{\circ}C$까지 승온 후 MgF2 박막의 XRD분석결과 우세한 결정성을 관찰할 수 없었으며, 이 때의 광 투과도는 가시영역에서 80~90%의 값으로 측정되었다. 추후 증착된 막의 결정성을 위해 열처리를 실시하고, 각 증착조건에 대한 결과는 학회 발표시 보고한다.

Analysis of Home Economics Textbooks for Middle School (중학교 가정 교과서 분석 연구(I))

  • The purpose of the study is to see as to how much of changes has occurred in the newly revised Home Economics Textbooks required by the 6th Curriculum as compared to those by the former 5th Curriculum, and to seek future policy directions with can be improved even better, if any, for further revision. To implement this proposal, the study employs 8 different textbooks published in 1995 geared for the 6th Curriculum for data base. The components of the contents divides into two major parts. The first part falls into a category of holistic analysis of the textbooks, which gives a general perspective of the changes in the textbook revised. It includes those areas of changes in the total number of pages, cover page, illustrations, table of contents, appendices, unit cover, introductory remarks, summary and evaluation, etc. It also covers the information on authors of textbook. The latter part consists of several specific areas of major changes occurred in the textbooks for the 6th Curriculum. It covers such areas of changes in the composition of category and its weight, laboratory experiences, and illustrations and tables. To conclude the study, among many findings, two major points are of great importance to mention here. First, the new textbooks have adopted more of varieties in physical appearances and contents per se as to the older ones. And yet, there still found a weakness in numbers of authors participated to a full reflection on contents variety. In addition, the background of authors reflected on an unrealistic idealism which lacks the on-site information provided by the school teachers. Second, the strict regulations created by the Ministry of Education for developing textbook found restricting the authors creativity and thus contents variety of textbooks. Those restricting factors include letter type and size, coloring, paper quality, and volume size.
