TPEG based RFID application service for terrestrial-DMB (지상파DMB를 위한 TPEG 기반 RFID 응용서비스)

  • The terrestrial-DMB (T-DMB) provides one-way broadcasting service in intial phase and two-way interactive data services through a return channel of mobile communications network are commercialized recently. The possible evolution of the T-DMB will be fully convergence between the T-DMB and other communication services such as telematics, RFID and so on. From this evolution point of view, a framework should be defined for supporting telematics and RFID applications on T-BMB platform. In this paper, we propose an integrated service model that could support RFID application services on the interactive T-DMB. To realize the model, we design a service scenario, a network reference model, functionalities of each entity, a data transmission mechanism messages, and coding rules. The service model could allow users to support the identical RFID application services over the T-DMB network even if T-DMB terminal doesn't have RFID reader capability. In addition, in the case for providing the interactive TTI(Traffic and Travel Information)service, users could utilize the current location based RFID application service using by the TPEG-Location application that forms the basis of user location referencing. The messages structure is designed by following TPEG standardization

  • E-Card Service for Child Nutrition Program is one of the main public policy services nowadays. In case of inconvenience during the use of the e-cards, it is recommended to cooperate with related organizations in order to promptly handle and provide guidance, and thoroughly manage child feeding service such as hygiene, nutrition and kindness etc. To do so, it is very important to provide food service that meets local actual conditions and children's needs in a cost effective manner for the underage who are worried about the poorly-fed by understanding the pattern of child feeding e-card service. Hence. this paper aims to investigate how child feeding e-card service efficiently provides meals according to the local situation and children's needs through big data analysis and to propose a method of identifying welfare conditions according to the purpose of service with actual application examples. The results suggest that, first of all, this study is able to judge appropriateness of public institution's policy in a timely and repetitive manner through non-standard data analysis such as Naver News and transaction data. Secondly, this paper proposes a multi-layered analysis framework, which performs online open data analysis to detect policy issues, visualizes retrieval and preprocessing of real data, and performs abnormal pattern recognition. These will be worthy of reference to other similar projects.

Comparative Study of Virtual Methods Used for Library Service Delivery among Librarians in Southern Nigeria Private Universities

  • This study examined the virtual methods of service delivery being deployed by librarians in private universities in Nigeria. The objective of the study was to analyse the virtual methods of service delivery among librarians and determine the predominant method used among the librarians. Survey research design was adopted for the study. Total enumeration technique was adopted for the study. A population of 181 librarians from 45 private universities in Southern Nigeria were involved. Data were gathered, analysed and presented using frequency counts, percentages, mean and standard deviation. The study found that librarians used different virtual methods of service delivery. Library website 157 (90%) and e-mail 132 (76.3%) were the prominent electronic media used by librarians while Facebook 59 (34%) and Whatsapp 57 (32.9%) were the predominant social media platforms applied for service delivery by librarians. Electronic media were more used for latest publications arrival, as well as library education and document delivery services while social media were more used for reference services and selective dissemination of information. In conclusion, virtual methods of service delivery were deployed by librarians in private universities for service delivery. In comparing the virtual methods, librarians used more of electronic media than social media to deliver services to their users. Therefore, electronic media were predominantly used than social media, many of the virtual methods were found to be underutilised while recommendations were proffered.

  • This article intends to locate the logical basis to apply bibliotherapy as a library service in Korean libraries. To the end, investigated and discussed are the historical relationship between bibliotherapy and RAS(readers' advisory service), and the theoretical base and practical experiences that enabled bibliotherapy to be practical in the U.S. library community. This article introduces a concept of 'therapeutic' RAS as a similar concept to 'developmental' bibliotherapy, and suggests the roles of a librarian as a therapist, based on the "Zones of Intervention" by Carol Kuhlthau.

  • As information on gene sequences is not only diverse but also extremely huge in volume, high-performance computer and information technology techniques are required to build and analyze gene sequence databases. This has given rise to the discipline of bioinformatics, a field of research where computers are utilized to collect, to manage, to save, to evaluate, and to analyze biological data. In line with such continued development in bioinformatics, the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) has built an infrastructure for the biological information, based on the information technology, and provided the information for researchers of bioscience. This paper analyzes the reference fields of Genbank, the most frequently used gene database by the global researchers among the life information databases, and proposes the interface method to NDSL which is the science and technology information integrated service provided by KISTI. For these, after collecting Genbank data from NCBI FTP site, we rebuilt the database by separating Genbank text files into the basic gene data and the reference data. So new tables are generated through extracting the paper and patent information from Genbank reference fields. Then we suggest the method of connection with the paper DB and the patent DB operated by KISTI.

Development of Prototype Chatbot Based on Messenger App for Archival Reference Services: With Focus on the Archives & Records Center of Myongji University (기록정보서비스를 위한 메신저 기반의 챗봇 프로토 타입 개발 연구: 명지대학교 대학사료실을 중심으로)

  • The role of archives and records centers is expanding, however many potential users are not aware of the importance of the records and archives. As a method to improve the archival information services to users, in this study, we developed chatbot that supports the interaction between the users and the archives and records centers. Thus we examined the specific development procedures and methods, analyzed user requests and questions of the archives and records center of Myongji university as a case, and conducted a logical structure design for chatbot development. After building the chatbot based on IBM Watson Conversation and Kakaotalk messenger, we were able to find how the chatbot interacted with the users through a pilot run. Based on the experience of developing information service chatbot, the implications related the introduction of the chatbot were suggested which include determination of the level of the chatbot, analysis of the user requests, selection of the tool for the chatbot, and syntax setting for the conversational interaction.

  • This paper provides a model which is used for SOA based system's quality evaluation. This model make evaluation with "Reliability, Usability, Efficiency, Usability and Maintainability", these five aspects which were reference from ISO/IEC 9126. A systems based on SOA was tested by this model in these five aspects. As the results of the evaluation this system satisfied 61.45% users including Service Requester and Service Registry.

  • Mutimedia conference technology provides reference service as well as data service via Internet. Many standards and related applications were developed based on H.323 protocol. but H.323 protocol more complex than SIP. so IETF have developed standard that related conference control based on SIP. In this paper, we discuss REFER method that used for conference invtitation and ejection esign conference event package for conference system based on SIP protocol.

  • This Paper is implementing IPMP system based on Server/client Structured Linux. We referenced OpenIPMP System, which is a reference software of IPMP (Intellectual Property Management and Protection) solution. Using this system, we developed multimedia contents service providing system using MPEG-21's REL(XML), which is applicable to new media service environment.

Distributing Goods and Information Flow: Factors Influencing Online Purchasing Behavior of Indonesian Consumers

  • Purpose: The distribution of goods and the flow of information, determined by consumer behavior toward online shopping, is drastically popular worldwide. This study examines some factors such as brand trust, online sales promotion, consumer personality, delivery service, quality assurance, information search, and online consumer satisfaction influence online shopping behavior. Research design, data, and methodology: A constructed questionnaire in an online survey was conducted with 241 random cluster respondents in the greater Jakarta Area. Structure equation model was utilized to analyze and verify all the data. Results: Research finding indicates online sales promotion, delivery service, quality assurance, and online consumer satisfaction positively influence information search. Meanwhile, brand trust, quality assurance, and information search positively influence online shopping behavior. However, the result illustrates that consumer personality negatively influences both information search and online shopping behavior. Conclusions: To influence online shopping behavior, the most important factors that need to be considered by marketplaces are quality assurance. It positively motivates Indonesia's citizens to collect information and make unplanned purchases. The study finding can be a reference for brands to maintain and build outstanding product quality, an informational website, and an excellent marketing strategy so that customers can meet their expectations. Besides, it also broadens both companies' and individuals' knowledge about the digital revolution on consumer behavior.
