A Study on the Control of Apartment House Design Factors considering Energy, Environment and Economical Efficiency (에너지, 환경 및 경제성을 통합 고려한 공동주택 설계요소 제어에 관한 연구)

  • The current building energy efficiency rating certification regulation on apartment houses evaluates only the saving rate of energy consumed during operation, i.e. use, of a building, but doesn't consider the energy consumptions and environmental load($CO_2$) emissions occurring during the whole lifetime of a building. So this study calculated the energy consumptions and environmental load emissions occurring during the whole lifetime of a building, selected reference schemes and alternative items by design variables to present a design draft considering energy efficiency and environmental performance, and evaluated the total cost by combining and calculating its direct cost(material and heating cost) and indirect cost(environmental cost), for an existing apartment house as an evaluation object. As a result of analysis, the change of heating cost by alternative items of design variables showed a 4~8% change rate compared to the reference scheme, and the material cost of design variable 7 showed a maximum 4.4 times change rate in the alternative plan 6 compared to the reference scheme. The environmental cost showed a similar change rate to the material cost change rate in general, but showed a similar environmental cost change rate to the heating cost change rate in case of design variables 4-1, 4-2, 7.

Reference Trajectory Analysis of Atmosphere Re-entry for Space Vehicle (우주비행체의 대기권 재진입 기준궤적 해석)

  • The design of reference trajectory with respect to drag acceleration is necessary to decelerate from hypersonic speed safely after atmosphere re-entry of space vehicle. The re-entry guidance design involves trajectory optimization, generation of a reference drag acceleration profile with the satisfaction of 6 trajectory constraints during the re-entry flight. This reference drag acceleration profile can be considered as the reference trajectory. The cost function is composed of the accumulated total heating on vehicle due to the reduction of weight. And a regularization is needed to prevent optimal drag profile from varying too fast and achieve realized trajectory. This paper shows the relations between velocity, drag acceleration and altitude in drag acceleration profile, and how to determine the reference trajectory.

Performance Comparison of Various Extended Kalman Filter and Cost-Reference Particle Filter for Target Tracking with Unknown Noise (노이즈 불확실성하에서의 확장칼만필터의 변종들과 코스트 레퍼런스 파티클필터를 이용한 표적추적 성능비교)

  • In this paper, we study target tracking in two dimensional space using a Extended Kalman filter(EKF), various Extended Kalman Filter and Cost-Reference Particle Filter(CRPF), which can effectively estimate the state values of nonlinear measurement equation. We introduce various Extended Kalman Filter which the Unscented Kalman Filter(UKF), the Central Difference Kalman Filter(CDKF), the Square Root Unscented Kalman Filter(SR-UKF), and the Central Difference Kalman Filter(SR-CDKF). In this study, we calculate Mean Square Error(MSE) of each filters using Monte-Carlo simulation with unknown noise statistics. Simulation results show that among the various of Extended Kalman filter, Square Root Central Difference Kalman Filter has the best results in terms of speed and performance. And, the Cost-Reference Particle Filter has an advantageous feature that it does not need to know the noise distribution differently from Extended Kalman Filter, and the simulation result shows that the excellent in term of processing speed and accuracy.

Determining the Reference Voltage of 345 kV Transmission System Considering Economic Dispatch of Reactive Power (무효전력 경제급전을 고려한 345㎸ 송전계통의 기준 전압 설정 방법)

  • In the cost based pool market in Korea, there is no compensation of reactive power because the fuel cost for reactive power is relatively low compared to that of active power. However, the change of energy paradigm in the future, such as widespread integration of distributed renewable energy source, will prevent the system operator from mandating the reactive power supply without any compensation. Thus, in this study, we propose the reference voltage of the 345 kV transmission system that minimizes the reactive power supply. This is closely related to the economic dispatch of reactive power aiming at minimizing the compensation cost for the reactive power service. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed reference voltage, the simulations are performed using the IEEE 14 bus system and the KEPCO real networks. The simulation results show that a voltage lower than the current reference value is recommended to reduce the reactive power supply and also suggest that the current voltage specification for the 345 kV system needs to be reviewed.

Active Control of Vibrational Intensity at a Reference Point in an Infinite, Elastic Plate (무한 탄성 평판상의 기준점에 전달되는 진동인텐시티의 능동제어)

  • In this paper, active control of vibrational intensity at a reference point in an infinite, elastic plate was discussed. The plate is excised harmonically by a vibrating source, which has a vertical point force. The optimal condition of controller was investigated to minimize the vibrational intensity being transmitted from the vibrating source to a reference point. Hence the method of feedforward control was employed for the control strategy and then the cost function was evaluated to find the optimal control force. Three types of control force (Vertical force, Moment, and Coupling force (a set of vertical force and moment) ) and controller's positions were examined to define the optimal condition of the controller. The vibrational intensity at a reference point was found to be reduced down to a zero level, compared with the uncontrolled case. Especially maximum reduction of vibrational intensity was achieved when the controller was collinearly positioned between a vibrating source and a reference point.

  • A fuzzy learning algorithm to get the optimal fuzzy rules is presented in this paper. The algorithm introduces a reference model to generate a desired output and a performance index funtion instead of the performance index table. The performance index funtion is a cost function based on the error and error-rate between the reference and plant output. The cost function is minimized by a gradient method and the control input is also updated. In this case, the control rules which generate the desired response can be obtained by changing the portion of the error-rate in the cost funtion. In SISO(Single-Input Single- Output)plant, only by the learning delay, it is possible to experss the plant model and to get the desired control rules. In the long run, this algorithm gives us the good control rules with a minimal amount of prior informaiton about the environment.

  • Capital cost of ships for advanced maritime countries is generally regarded as an international cost, which is, or can be, irrelevant with respect to the nationality of shipowners. However, Korean shipowners have been not only forced by national laws and regulations to build their ships at Korean shipyards, but also restricted to access to foreign financial markets. Having said that, as far as Korean shipowners are concerned, the capital cost has become a national cost. Consequently, it causes them to lower International competitiveness. This paper aims to identify the causes deteriorating international competitiveness of Korean shipping with reference to capital costs and suggest constructive proposals.

A Study on Attitude Heading Reference System Based Micro Machined Electro Mechanical System for Small Military Unmanned Underwater Vehicle

  • Generally, underwater unmanned vehicle have adopted an inertial navigation system (INS), dead reckoning (DR), acoustic navigation and geophysical navigation techniques as the navigation method because GPS does not work in deep underwater environment. Even if the tactical inertial sensor can provide very detail measurement during long operation time, it is not suitable to use the tactical inertial sensor for small size and low cost UUV because the tactical inertial sensor is expensive and large. One alternative to INS is attitude heading reference system (AHRS) with the micro-machined electro mechanical system (MEMS) inertial sensor because of MEMS inertial sensor's small size and low power requirement. A cost effective and small size attitude heading reference system (AHRS) which incorporates measurements from 3-axis micro-machined electro mechanical system (MEMS) gyroscopes, accelerometers, and 3-axis magnetometers has been developed to provide a complete attitude solution for UUV. The AHRS based MEMS overcome many problems that have inhibited the adoption of inertial system for small UUV such as cost, size and power consumption. Several evaluation experiments were carried out for the validation of the developed AHRS's function and these experiments results are presented. Experiments results prove the fact that the developed MEMS AHRS satisfied the required specification.

  • In this paper, we propose H.264 High Profile Encoder Intra Prediction module. This designed module can be operated in 306 cycle for one-macroblock. To verify the Encoder architecture, we developed the reference C from JM 13.2 and verified the our developed hardware using test vector generated by reference C. We adopt plan removal and SAD calculation to reduce the Hardware cost and cycle. The designed circuit can be operated in 133MHz clock system, and has 250K gate counts using TSMC 0.18um process including SRAM memory.
