  • One of the primary factors like plate structure In ship is redundancy structure that is comparable with ocean structure and frame structure. The more component material becomes buckling collapsed locally the less structure stiffness becomes accordingly. As a result, by increasing the load distribution of any other subsidiary structure continually component member collapses, therefore the structure could be in danger of collapse. So, in order to interpret this phenomenon precisely, the study on boundary condition of the ship's Plate and post-buckling analysis must be considered. In this study, the rectangular plate is compressed by the in-plane load. Buckling & Ultimate strength characteristics we applied to be the elasto-plasticity large deformation by F.E.M. On this basis, elasto-plasticity of the plain plate are investigated. This study proved elasto-plasticity behaviour of tile ship's plate In accordance with boundary condition based on the series analysis In case of the compressive load operation.

  • LRFD Resistance factors for static bearing capacity of driven steel pipe piles were calibrated in the freamework of reliability theory. Reliability analysis was performed by the First Order Reliability Method (FORM) using resistance bias factor statistics.The target reliability indices are selected as 2.0 and 2.33 for group pile case and 2.5 for single pile case, based on the reliability level of the current design practice and considering redundancy of pile group, acceptable risk level, construction quality control, and significance of individual structure.

  • One of important problem, in large space structure, is to overcome the self-weight of roof structure. This problem can be solved with using tension members effectively. Thus the rapid progress of hybrid structure, that makes effective use of the means of settling, has a good effect on realizing the large space. These systems of hybrid structure have the advantages of light weight and its own internal redundancy, but are occurred unstable phenomenon such as bifurcation or snap-through buckling, when the load level is come to the critical point. Among the hybrid structure, cable dome is shown the strong nonlinearity of unstable phenomenon in accordance with the external force. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze and verify comparatively the unstable phenomenon of the Geiger and Flower type cable dome structures under axismmetric load.

Analysis of structural dynamic reliability based on the probability density evolution method

  • A new dynamic reliability analysis of structure under repeated random loads is proposed in this paper. The proposed method is developed based on the idea that the probability density of several times random loads can be derived from the probability density of single-time random load. The reliability prediction models of structure based on time responses under several times random loads with and without strength degradation are obtained by using the stress-strength interference theory and probability density evolution method. The resulting differential equations in the prediction models can be solved by using the forward finite difference method. Then, the probability density functions of strength redundancy of the structures can be obtained. Finally, the structural dynamic reliability can be calculated using integral method. The efficiency of the proposed method is demonstrated numerically through a speed reducer. The results have shown that the proposed method is practicable, feasible and gives reasonably accurate prediction.

3DTV를 위한 다시점 동영상 부호화 기법 (Multi-view Video Codec for 3DTV)

  • 본 논문에서는 3DTV를 위한 다시점 동영상 부호화 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 기법에서는 다수의 카메라 입력에 대하여 기존의 MPEG 기반의 부호화 기법에서 사용된 시 공간적 중복성 제거 뿐 아니라 각 시점에 해당하는 영상간의 공간적 중복성을 제거하여 부호화 효율을 재선할 수 있다. 각 시점 영상간의 공간적 중복성을 효율적으로 제거하기 위하여 전역 시차 보상(global disparity compensation)된 집적영상(assembled image)을 사용하였다. 또한 기존의 디지털 TV 전송 표준인 MPEG-2를 기반으로 하였기 때문에 기존의 디지털 TV 표준을 크게 수정하지 않고 3DTV를 구현할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 각 시점간의 동기화 문제도 해결할 수 있다. 제안하는 기법은 MPEG-2 기법으로 각 시점에 해당하는 영상을 독립적으로 부호화(simulcast 기법)한 결과와 비교하여 객관적 화질 면에서 우수한 결과를 보였으며, 평행식 카메라 구조로 획득된 영상과 유사한 디지털 홀로그램 부호화에도 적용하여 우수한 성능을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • A display panel image data manipulator for SOP or SOG is presented. It is capable of all the shift operations for MPEG decoders, graphic processors and controllers as well as data pack, merging, bit split and reformation operations to improve speed and memory utilization. To alleviate poly-Si low yield, redundancy based fault recovery scheme is introduced utilizing regular structure.

  • It is well-known that bio-systems does not calculate inverse dynamics for trajectory planning, but they move by proper modulation of system impedances. Inspired by bio-systems, a biomimetic trajectory planning method is proposed in this work. This scheme is based on employment of redundant actuation which prevails in bio-systems. We discuss that for the generation of the biomimetic trajectory, intelligent structure of bio-systems plays an important role. Redundant actuation and kinematic redundancy fall into such a category of intelligent structure. The proposed biomimetic trajectory planning modulates the complete dynamic behavior such as natural frequencies and damping ratios by using the intelligent structure. Experimental work is illustrated to show the effectiveness of the proposed biomimetic trajectory planning for a five-bar mechanism with redundant actuators.

Reviving GOR method in protein secondary structure prediction: Effective usage of evolutionary information

  • The prediction of protein secondary structure has been an important bioinformatics tool that is an essential component of the template-based protein tertiary structure prediction process. It has been known that the predicted secondary structure information improves both the fold recognition performance and the alignment accuracy. In this paper, we describe several novel ideas that may improve the prediction accuracy. The main idea is motivated by an observation that the protein's structural information, especially when it is combined with the evolutionary information, significantly improves the accuracy of the predicted tertiary structure. From the non-redundant set of protein structures, we derive the 'potential' parameters for the protein secondary structure prediction that contains the structural information of proteins, by following the procedure similar to the way to derive the directional information table of GOR method. Those potential parameters are combined with the frequency matrices obtained by running PSI-BLAST to construct the feature vectors that are used to train the support vector machines (SVM) to build the secondary structure classifiers. Moreover, the problem of huge model file size, which is one of the known shortcomings of SVM, is partially overcome by reducing the size of training data by filtering out the redundancy not only at the protein level but also at the feature vector level. A preliminary result measured by the average three-state prediction accuracy is encouraging.

가변형상 트러스구조물의 자세제어 (Configuration Control of Vaiable-Geometry Truss Structures)

  • The concept of variable-geometry truss structure(VGTS) is introduced as a class of actively controlled adaptive structure. VGTS can purposefully vary its geometric configurations by changing the lengths of some members of the structure. General kinematics and inverse kinematics of a statically determinate VGTS(variable geometry truss structure) are studied. The solution technique is based on the Jacobian matrix obtained via joint equilibrium equations. Pseudoinverse control method is applied to resolve the redundancy of a large VGTS. two types of actuator layout of octahedral type VGTS, VG truss and Stewart platform, are compared. Introducing the concept of performance index, Stewart platform based layout was found to has less consumption energy and manipulation time. A functional VGTS model with 3 octahedral modules is designed and manufactured for the labaratory demonstration. Six vertically located length-variable members are used to create general 6 d.o.f. motions.

  • 이중화 PLC 제어시스템은 높은 유용성과 고장허용을 목표로 사용되고 2채널(1-out-of-Z) 구조로 동기화된 마스터, 스탠바이 시스템으로 PLC의 고장허용 제어를 실현함으로써 기계, 플랜트의 연속운전을 실현하며 데이터 링 크는 마스터와 스탠바이 제어기로 연결되어 있다. 고장허용 제어시스템은 전체 제어시스템에서 최소한의 고장으로 손실을 감소시키고 고장발생시 공정의 연속적인 운전과 시스템의 중단없이 수리 및 점검올 가능하게 하여 생산손실을 최소화하며 전체 시스템에 대하여 신뢰도를 향상시키는것이다.
