The Study on the Difference of Road Noise due to change the Suspension and Tire by Feeling Test (실차감성평가를 통한 서스펜션 및 타이어 변화에 따른 Road Noise 편차파악에 관한 연구)

  • According to the remarkable reduction of the vehicle noise, the important of tire noise which is generated from the vehicle and the necessities of the researches for the noise reduction are emphasized. In this study, we have studied the road noise which is excited by the interaction between tire and road. In order to evaluate the road noise, we carry out the subjective test(feeling test). In order to consider the effect of the vehicle suspension for the tire/road noise, we are equipped with identical tires on the differential vehicle suspension and evaluate the road noise. In order to consider the effect of the tire structure for the tire/road noise, we evaluate the some tires with various structures. From the test results, we fine that the difference of road noise is generated by the variation of the vehicle suspension. Also, we can select the optimized tire structure which can be reduced the road noise.

  • Vehicle Manufacturers use asphalt deadener sheets for their passenger cars to reduce noise and vibration from engine and road surface. Since their shapes are limited to a few variations, it is very difficult to reduce unnecessary weight by changing the shape of the deadeners. There is also damping performance limit in the asphalt sheets. Therefore, a high damping material should be implemented into the vehicle noise and vibration reduction activities to overcome the disadvantage of asphalt sheets. In this study, measurement of the damping loss factor and sound transmission loss were made to compare the properties and vehicle test and analysis was followed to evaluate the NVH performance of each deadener type in the vehicle.

Study on the Intake/Exhaust Noise Reductions of Motorcycle Pass-by Noise (가속주행하는 오토바이 흡배기계 시스템의 소음 저감에 관한 연구)

  • Evaluation of the contribution of each pass-by noise source to the overall pass-by noise is an important issue for reduction of pass-by noise. A lead-wrapping test for analyzing pass-by noise of motorcycle is used to identify the principal noise sources of the pass-by noise in this study. Lead-wrapping test is employed and the contribution analysis is carried out. Based on the contribution analysis of each pass by noise source from the action of the prior tests, the design modifications of intake/exhaust systems were performed for reducing the pass-by noise. Finally, the pass-by noise test based on ISO362 was carried out to verify the noise reduction.

  • Safety diagnosis on the driving system of electric train is performed using the vibration and noise signals of running railway train. Safety diagnosis is tried on the viewpoints of the appreciation of superannuation and the fault diagnosis of motor, reduction gear and boggie. The appreciation of superannuation is checked by the rms vibration levels of driving parts and the fault diagnosis is done by analyzing the frequencies of the vibration signals. The methods of measuring and analyzing the signals are decided on the basis of field 1-measured signals. The results shows that the vibration levels of each parts increase as the train goes older and each parts have their own frequency patterns of the vibration. As the results, the vibration and noise can be utilized successfully for the safety diagnosis of the driving part of electric train.

  • The household reftigerator's noise which is closely related with resident environment can hardly be evaluated its sound quality using the Korean Standards. Radiation characteristics of compressor noise consist of tonal noise in low frequency range and, or narrow band noise in high frequency range. In this study, measuring method for detecting the abnormal and low-level noise in high frequency band is presented, and control method for its reduction is proposed. After installing wall which is similar to living condition, we determined a major concerning frequency band of noise. It can be found the directivity of high frequency noise radiated from compressor by using experiment and analysis. According to isolation of noise transfer path, remarkable noise reduction is achieved.
