  • The north and south panel of a geostationary satellite are used for radiator panels to reject internal heat dissipation of electronics units and utilize several heat pipe networks to control the temperatures of units and the satellite within proper ranges. The design of these panels is very important and essential at the conceptual design and preliminary design stage so several thousands of nodes of more are utilized in order to perform thermal analysis of panel. Generating a large number of nodes(meshes) of the panel takes time and is tedious work because the mesh can be easily changed and updated by locations of units and heat pipes. Also the detailed panel model can not be integrated into spacecraft thermal model due to its node size and limitation of commercial satellite thermal analysis program. Thus development of a program was required in order to generate detailed panel model, to perform thermal analysis and to make a reduced panel model for the integration to the satellite thermal model. This paper describes the development and the verification of panel thermal analysis program with ist main modules and its main functions.

공작기계 원점 열변형오차의 모델링 및 보상제어 (Modeling and Compensatory Control of Thermal Error for the Machine Orgin of Machine Tools)

  • In order to control thermal deformation of the machine origin of machine tools a empirical model and a compensation system have been developed, Prior to empirical modeling the volumetric error considering shape errors and joint errors of slides is formulated through the homogeneous transformation matrix (HTM) and kinematic chain. Simulation results of the HTM method show that the thermal error of the machine origin is more critical than position-dependent errors. In order to make a stable and effective software error compensation system the GMDH (Group Method of Data Handling) models are constructed to estimate the thermal deformation of the machine origin by measuring deformation data and temperature data. A test bar and gap sensors are used to measure the deformation data. In order to compensate the estimated error the work origin shift method is developed by implementing a digital I/O interface board between a CNC controller and an IBM PC. The method shifts the work origin as much as the amounts which are calculated by the pre-established thermal error model. The experiment results for a vertical machining center show that the thermal deformation of the machine origin is reduced within $\pm$5$mu extrm{m}$.

SWAT 모형을 이용한 볏짚매트의 토양유실 저감효과 분석 (Analysis of Soil Erosion Reduction Effect of Rice Straw Mat by the SWAT Model)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate sediment yield reduction under various field slope conditions with rice straw mat. The Vegetative Filter Strip Model-W (VFSMOD-W) and Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) were used for simulation of sediment yield reduction effect of rice straw mat. The Universe Soil Loss Equation Practice factor (USLE P factor), being able to reflect simulation of rice straw mat in the agricultural field, were estimated for each slope with VFSMOD-W and measured soil erosion values under 5, 10, and 20 % slopes. Then with the regression equation for slopes, USLE P factor was derived and used as input data for each Hydrological Response Unit (HRU) in the SWAT model. The SWAT Spatially Distributed-HRU (SD-HRU) pre-processor module was utilized, moreover, in order to consider spatial location and topographic features (measured topographic features by field survey) of all HRU within each subwatershed in the study watershed. Result of monthly sediment yield without rice straw mat (Jan. 2000 - Aug. 2007) was 814.72 ton/month, and with rice straw mat (Jan. 2000 - Aug. 2007) was 526.75 ton/month, which was reduced as 35.35 % compared without it. Also, during the rainy season (from Jun. to Sep. 2000 - 2007), when without vs. with rice straw mat, monthly sediment indicated 2,109.54 ton and 1,358.61 ton respectively. It showed about 35.60 % was reduced depending on rice straw mat. As shown in this study, if rice straw mat is used as a Best Management Practice (BMP) in the sloping fields, rainfall-driven sediment yield will be reduced effectively.

가무시안 혼합모델에서 점진적 강인적응을 통한 화자확인 성능개선 (Performance Enhancement for Speaker Verification Using Incremental Robust Adaptation in GMM)

  • 본 논문에서는 화자확인을 위해서 가우시안혼합모델에 forgetting factor를 갖는 점진적 강인적응 방법을 제안하였다. 화자인식 시스템에서 적은 양의 데이터로 좋은 성능을 얻기 위하여 화자모델 적응방법이 사용되고 있다. 그러나, 현재 사용되고 있는 적응방법은 불규칙한 발성변화와 잡음 같은 이씨에 취약하고, 그것은 부정확한 화자모델을 만들 수 있다. 또한 시간이 지날수록 모델에 새로운 데이터가 적응되는 비율이 줄어들게 되는 문제점이 있다. 제안된 알고리즘은 가우시안혼합모델을 이용한 화자모델에서 이상치에 의한 왜곡과 새로운 데이터에 대한 적응 비율을 일정이상으로 유지할 수 있도록 하기 위하여 점진적 강인적응 방법을 제안하였다. 점진적 강인적응은 화자인식에서 적은 양의 데이터로 등록하고 테스트된 새로운 데이터로 모델을 적응시키는 방법이다. 실험결과는 7개월에 걸쳐서 수집된 데이터로부터 제안된 방법이 이상치에 강인하고 새로운 데이터의 적응 비율을 일정하게 유지시킴을 보였다.

가우시안 2-군집 모델을 사용한 적응 블라인드 등화기 (An Adaptive Blind Equalizer Using Gaussian Two-Cluster Model)

  • 본 논문에서는 가우시안 2-군집 모델을 사용한 블라인드 등화 방법을 제안한다. 제안 방식에서는 M-QAM 수신 신호를 가우시안 분포하는 2-군집으로 모델링하여 계산 복잡성을 최소화하고 신호 추정의 신뢰도를 높였다. 여기에 가변 파라미터 비선형 추정기를 사용하여 송신 신호를 추정하고, 신호 추정 시 군집의 분산에 따라 축소신호점과 원신호점을 선택적으로 적용하여 신호 추정의 신뢰도를 더욱 개선하였다. 결과적으로 제안 방식은 등화기의 계산 복잡성을 단순화하면서 성능을 개선하였다. 모의실험을 통해 64-QAM의 고차 신호에 대한 블라인드 등화에서 제안 방식이 기존 방식에 비해 우수한 성능을 보임을 확인하였다.

주파수 전달함수 합성법에 의한 선형시스템의 간소화 (A Simplification of Linear System via Frequency Transfer Function Synthesis)

  • This paper presents an approximation method for simplifying a high-order transfer function to a low-order transfer function. A model reduction is based on minimizing the error function weighted by the numerator polynomial of reduced systems. The proposed methods provide better low frequency fit and a computer aided algorithm that estimates the coefficients vector for the numerator and denominator polynomial on the simplified systems from an overdetermined linear system constructed by frequency responses of the original systems. Two examples are given to illustrate the feasibilities of the suggested schemes.

  • This paper proposes an elliptical world-modeling mehtrod in order to secure the safety of the mobile robot from the unreliability of ultrasonic sensors and to estimate the lateral orientation of the detected objects. This method is advnatageous because the total amount of data that the robot utilizes is reduced when historical and new data are clusterd during each sensing period and also because the objects in the environment can be almost exactly recognized. This paper also proposes a new local path planning algorithm which is divided into four different situations and gudies the robot through the safe local path using dat acollected in elliptical form. This algorithm can help the AMR navigate by allowing it to sum up the virtual vector forces made form the ellipses in order to select a safe subgoal. This local path plannin gmehtod using the elliptical world model has been proved by several navigation experiments.

선형홀센서를 이용한 전기식 구동장치의 속도 신호 구현 (A New Velocity Measurement Method using Linear Type Hall-effect Sensor for Electro-mechanical Fin Actuator)

  • The objective of this paper is to propose a new velocity measurement method for an electro-mechanical fin actuator. The model of the electro-mechanical fin actuator includes uncertainties such as unknown disturbances and parameter variations in flight condition. So, an electro-mechanical fin actuator system needs robust control algorithm which requires not only position information but also velocity information. Usually, analog tachometers have been used for velocity feedback in an electro-mechanical fin actuator. However, using these types of sensors have problems such as the cost, space, and malfunction. These problems lead to propose a new velocity measurement method using linear type Hall-effect sensor. In order to verify the proposed method, several experiments are performed using Model Following Sliding Mode Controller(MFSMC). It is shown that the MFSMC with a new velocity measurement method using linear type Hall-effect sensor can satisfy the requirements without using of velocity sensor.

  • This paper is concerned with the positioning control of a flexible arm system using H$_{\infty}$ control theory with optimum sensor location. Firstly, by virtue of the orthogonality of the flexible modes of the flexible arm a reduced order model of the tributed parameter system(DPS) representing the arm has formulated. The dynamical coupling between the flexible arm and DC motor has been considered to formulate an motor composite model. In order to achieve precise positioning with vibration attenuation, sensors have been optimally located. Finally, a robust H$_{\infty}$ controller was designed and the performance of the positioning system has been analyzed.d.

  • Time Delay Controller(TDC) is a model following controller which uses input and output values and state variables to estimate additional quantity of dynamics due to external disturbances and/or model parameters variation at some past instant. TDC is very robust against parametric uncertainty whil it is not robust against unmodeled dynamics even showing instability. To solve this problem a stability anlysis is performed and a compensation technique using reduced order observer, Anti-Filtering Compensator(AFC), is proposed for a case in which the high order kinown dynamics is deliberately ignored. If the ignored dynamics causes instability of the TDC control system, AFC is shown to be indispensible fot a stable implementation of TDC.
