In this study, open conical shells with ring and stringers are analyzed A versatile 4-node shell element which is useful for the analysis of conical shell structures is used and 3-D beam element is used for stiffeners. An improved flat shell element is established by the combined use of the addition of non-conforming displacement modes and the substitute shear strain fields. The proposed element has six degrees of freedom per node and permits an easy connection to other types(beam element) of finite elements. Optimum location and optimum section properties of ring and stinger are obtained. It is shown thai the thickness of conical shell can be reduced about $20\~50\%$ by appropriate location of stiffeners.

A series of titanium complexes containing terdentate β-ketoiminate ligands were found to be efficient for the ring-opening polymerization of ε-caprolactone (ε-CL), producing poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) with bimodal distribution. Steric factors imposed by methyl substituents on the back bone of the alkoxy group affected significantly the polymerization rate and physical properties of the resulting PCL. Intra- and intermolecular transesterifications rather than disproportional rearrangements were responsible for the bimodal behavior and for the change in the molecular weight (Mw). Dilution with toluene reduced yield, and lowered polydispersity (PDI) and Mw of PCL, while the catalytic activities of the dimeric complex, [Ti(Oi-Pr)2(N-alkoxy-β- ketoiminate)]2 and Ti(Oi-Pr)4 were not sensitive to the added solvent. The dimeric complex showed living character, while other catalysts suffered from chain termination reactions.

A ring resonator based band-pass filter enabling enhanced sideband suppression was proposed and demonstrated. It is composed of a single-ring based-pass section combined with a band-rejection section based on two different coupled rings. As for the achieved device performance, bandwidth was reduced from 98 MHz to 48 MHz by about 51% with no remarkable excessive insertion loss as expected. And the quality factor of the device was increased by about 105%.

Thermal distortion of non-contacting mechanical seals with inclined rubbing surfaces is affected by friction heat between seal ring and seal seat. The circulation fluid along the inclined rubbing surfaces maintains cooling friction heat and lubrication between the sealing surfaces of mechanical seal with an inclined surface. Mechanical seals with inclined sealing surfaces may be useful for reducing the frictional heating and power loss because of the introduction of cooling fluids to the sealing gap between seal ring and seal seat. From the FEM computed result shows that the thermal behavior and von Mises stress of sealing faces with an inclined angle 60 are much reduced in comparison of the conventional mechanical face seal with rectangular sealing surfaces.

New design method of small-sized 3-dB $0^{\circ}/180^{\circ}$ ring hybrid and Wilkinson power divider using both lumped elements and distributed elements are presented. At the center frequency of 900 MHz 3-dB $0^{\circ}/180^{\circ}$ ring hybrid and Wikinson power divider are designed and tested. Good agreements are obtained between measured and theoretical modeling results, and at the same time the circuit area is reduced by more than 70% compared with the discributed-type circuits.

An endomorphism ${\alpha}$ of a ring R is called right(left) symmetric if whenever abc=0 for a, b, c ${\in}$ R, $ac{\alpha}(b)=0({\alpha}(b)ac=0)$. A ring R is called right(left) ${\alpha}-symmetric$ if there exists a right(left) symmetric endomorphism ${\alpha}$ of R. The notion of an ${\alpha}-symmetric$ ring is a generalization of ${\alpha}-rigid$ rings as well as an extension of symmetric rings. We study characterizations of ${\alpha}-symmetric$ rings and their related properties including extensions. The relationship between ${\alpha}-symmetric$ rings and(extended) Armendariz rings is also investigated, consequently several known results relating to ${\alpha}-rigid$ and symmetric rings can be obtained as corollaries of our results.

In UHF, VHF new design method of samll-sized 3-dB 0$^{\circ}$/180$^{\circ}$ ring hybrid terminated arbitrary impedance using both lumped elements and distributed elements is presented. At the center frequency of 900 MHz, 3-dB 0$^{\circ}$/180$^{\circ}$ ring hybrid terminated arbitrary impedance is designed, analyzed and tested. Good agreements are obtained between measured and theoretical modeling results, and at the same time, the circuit area of hybrid fabricated with two dimensional parallel coupled line, distributed elements and lumped elements is reduced by more than 70% compared with only distribyted-type circuits.

In this erratum, we correct a mistake in the proof of Proposition 2.7. In fact the equivalence (3) ⇐ (4) "R is a quasi-regular ring if and only if R is a reduced ring and every principal ideal contained in Z(R) is a 0-ideal" does not hold as we only have Rx ⊆ O(S).

Hydrogel coated ring shaped ocular inserts (containing the antibiotic, tylosin tartrate) were used in an evaluation of the effectiveness of polymeric ocular drug release devices for treating infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis. The in vivo experiments represent the first experiments using hydrogel ocular inserts containing an antibiotic for treating infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis. In the infection tests, ten calves. were challenged with $2.4{\times}10^8{\sim}1.6{\times}10^9$ Moraxella bovis (a bacterium) colonies per eye following two ten minute ultraviolet radiation eye preconditioning exposures. Ninety five percent of the eyes (19 of 20 eyes) were successfully infected by this method. All infected eyes were monitored for the presence of the bacteria quantitiatively, and clinical observations were made for 14 days. The test was performed by three consecutive steps: 1) inoculation with 2 ultraviolet (UV) radiations, 2) growth of bacterial colonies and 3) treatment with medicated ring-shaped devices. The first. bacteriological measurements after 2 UV exposures were performed at day 3 of the tests. At day 7 after inoculation of both eyes of a calf with M. bovis, a medicated or a non-medicated ring-shaped device was inserted into each eye of a calf. The eye receiving the non-medicated ring was taken as a control for comparison with the eye that received a medicated ring. During the next 7 day period following a medicated ring insertion, the number of bacteria in the treated eyes dropped dramatically to negligible levels (0 to 30 colony forming units/swab), while the control eyes which received a non-medicated ring still exhibited a relatively high number of bacteria ($10^3\;to\;10^6$ colony forming units/swab). The number of bacteria was significantly reduced by the antibiotic released from the medicated ocular insert.

본 논문에서는 폴리머 도파로를 이용하여 소형 이중 링 공진 반사기를 설계하고 제작하여 그 측정 결과를 분석하였다. 소형 이중 링 공진 반사기는 반경이 서로 다른 두 개의 링 공진기 구조에 의한 버니어 효과로 인해 넓은 범위의 파장가변 특성을 확인 할 수 있었다. 소형 이중 링 반사기의 삽입 손실을 줄이기 위해 도파로의 길이를 기존에 보고된 소자에 비하여 크게 줄임으로써 부 모드 억제율이 크게 향상됨을 확인 하였다. 측정결과 소형 이중 링 공진 반사기 기반 하이브리드 집적 레이저는 45 dB의 부모드 억제율을 유지하면서 단일 모드로 발진함을 확인하였다. 또한 소형 이중 링 공진 반사기 상부에 형성된 전극에 최대 30 mA의 튜닝전류를 인가하여 약 40 nm 까지의 파장가변을 확인하였다.
