고추의 생장에 미치는 Azospirillum brasilense 및 Methylobacterium oryzae 접종 효과 (Effect of Inoculation of Azospirillum brasilense and Methylobacterium oryzae on the Growth of Red Pepper Plant)

  • BACKGROUND: Rhizosphere bacteria may improve plant growth and productivity both by supply nutrients and hormonal stimulation. Although many experiments have shown improvements in plant growth with inoculation of bacterial cultures to the rhizosphere, the main obstacle in the applications of plant growth promoting rhizobacteria in a large scale is the inconsistency of the results. We tested the growth promoting effects of Azospirillum and Methylobacterium strains on red pepper plant. METHODS AND RESULTS: Red pepper seedlings were grown for 25 days in a growth media inoculated with A. brasilense CW903 or M. oryzae CBMB20. The seedlings were transplanted and grown for 45 days in pots with soil in a greenhouse, at half the recommended level of fertilizer. Bacterial culture, $4.0{\times}10^9$ for A. brasilense CW903 and $5.8{\times}10^8$ CFU for M. oryzae CBMB20, was applied in root zone soil periodically every 10 days during the experiment. Inoculation of M. oryzae CBMB20 significantly increased the red pepper plant growth in terms of leaf number, height and mass of shoot, or root mass compared to uninoculated control plants. Although beneficial effects of A. brasilense on plant growth of many crops were observed, the growthpromoting effect of A. brasilense CW903 on red pepper plant was not found in this study. CONCLUSION(s): The factors responsible for the irregularities in plant growth promoting of rhizobacteria are difficult to elucidate. Extensive inoculation experiments in the greenhouse and in the field should enable us to define the factors critical to obtain successful application of plant growth promoting rhizobacteria.

산업폐기물인 적니를 이용한 불소 제거 (Fluoride Removal from Aqueous Solutions using Industrial Waste Red Mud)

  • The present study was conducted to investigate the adsorption potential of red mud for fluoride removal. Different operation parameters such as the effect of contact time, initial concentration, pH, competing anions, seawater, adsorbent dose amount, and adsorbent mixture were studied. Nearly 3 hr was required to reach sorption equilibrium. Equilibrium sorption data were described well by Langmuir model and the maximum adsorption capacity of red mud was 5.28 mg/g. The fluoride adsorption at pH 3 was higher than in the pH range 5-9. The presence of anions such as sulfate, nitrate, phosphate, and bicarbonate had no significant effect on fluoride adsorption onto red mud. The fluoride removal by red mud was greater in seawater than deionized water, resulting from the presence of calcium and magnesium ion in seawater. The use of red mud alone was more effective for the removal of fluoride than mixing red mud with other industrial waste such as oyster shells, lime stone, and steel slag. This study showed that red mud has a potential application in the remediation of fluoride contaminated soil and groundwater.

  • During the study of microbial structures in root-regions of tomato and red pepper from fields, various soil-inhabiting fungi were isolated with the dilution plate technique. Among them an ascomycete, Emericellopsis mirabilis and three hyphomycetes, Gliocladium solani, Humicola veronae and Verticillium chlamydosporium are presented for the first time in Korea along with Talaromyces trachyspermus, Chaetomium globosum and Doratomyces microsporus.

Landsat-8 위성을 통한 토지피복 변화와 지하수 함양량 상관성 고찰 (A Study on the Corelation between the Variation of Land Cover and Groundwater Recharge Using the Analysis of Landsat-8 OLI Data)

  • SWAT-MODFLOW의 월평균 수문성분 자료를 바탕으로 지하수 함양관련 토양층의 측방유출, 침루량을 산정하는 기본자료인 수문응답단위(HRU)와 이를 구성하는 토지피복, 토지이용, 토양통에서 영향이 큰 지하수 함양량 인자를 분석하였다. 봄, 가을별 bare soil line(BSL)을 통해 PVI를 분석하고 기존의 NDVI, NDTI, NDRI와 함께 함양량 분포와 토양-식생관련 지수의 빈도분석과 회귀분석을 수행하였다. 그 결과 비정규분포 양상을 보이는 NDVI와 NDTI에서 매우 유의한 양의 상관성이 확인되었다. 연구지역의 bare soil line 기울기는 약 1.092~1.343, 절편은 약 -0.004~-0.015이며 상대적으로 월평균강우량이 우세한 5월에는 Red밴드가 다른 시기에 비해 약 3~4배 증가하고 2012년 Singhal and Goyal의 결과와 같이 포물선 형태의 유일한 1개의 변곡점이 발생하는 것을 확인하였다. 따라서 강우를 고려하여 지하수 함양과 토양-식생관련 지수에 대한 다양한 경우의 상관성 분석이 수행된다면, 위성영상자료를 통해 토양-식생에 따른 함양량 변화도 추정할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

田作物 水分消費量 調査 硏究 (Studies on the Consumptive Use of Irrigated Water in Upland)

  • The study results of the mosture consumption character and irrigation effect of tomato, red pepper and chinese cabbage, in case the soil moisture is kept with different moisture content by the soil properties(loam, sandy loam, sand), are summarized as follows: 1. The available rainfall under bare soil condition had an order of sand>sandy loam> loam and their average was 64.2%. 2. Total moisture consumption under bare soil condition had an order of loam>sandy loam>sand and their average was 4.2mm. 3. The amount of irrigated water to keep certain soil moisture under bare soil condition showed minimum in sand and maximum in loam. It is considered because the capillary phenomenon was more developed in loam. 4. Total moisture consumption of tomatoes under premature cultivation showed 925mm in maximum and had on order of loam>sandy loam>sand. In the aspect of re-irrigation point, it had an order of PF 1.5> PF 1.7>PF 2.1. In case the twenty years's drought frequency was taken into account, the target amount of irrigation water meeded for premature cultivation was 916mm and its average daily moisture consumption was 10.8mm. 5. Total moisture consumption of red pepper under open cultivation showed 1145mm in maximum and had an order of loam>Sandy loam>sand. In the aspect of re-irrigation frequency was taken into consideration the target amount of irrigation water was 1,174.8mm and its average daily moisture consumption was 8.0mm. 6. Total moisture consumption of autumn chinese cabbages was 349mm in maximum and had an order of loam>sandy loam>sand. In the aspect of re-irrigation point, it had an order of PF 1.5>PF 2.1>PF 2.7. In case the twenty year's drought frequency was taken into account, the target amount of irrigation water needed for chinese cabbage cultivation was 259.5mm and its average daily moisture consumption was 6.5mm. 7. It is effective to keep the soil moisture of tomato from PF 1.5 to PF 2.1 in loam and the soil moisture control was effective in sandy loam than red pepper and chinese cabbage. In sand, the production was severaly decreased and the re-irrigation point of PF 1.5 was effective.

생균제 미생물비료의 고추시비에 관한 연구 (Study on Application of Microbial Fertilizers to the Red Pepper)

  • The result of application of the organic manure obtained from livestocks fed with BLCSs in the red pepper under structure were as follow. The no. of fruit. fruit weight. fruit length. fruit width. and sugar content of red pepper treated with dong of fowl(BLCS) were higher, also. The contents of total N, P2O5, K2O, CaO, MgO, and cap-saicin in the red pepper fruit of treated with Dung of fowl(BLCS) were the highest, and the second was cattle dropping(BLCS). The contents of OM, P2O5, K, Ca, Mg, and CEC of soil treated with microorganism were the highest in the cattle dropping(BLCS) in any other plots, however. In general, effect of cattle manure fed with BLCS on the red pepper yield and microbial activity were higher than cattle manure did not feed BLCS.

  • This experiment was carried out to investigate the effects of compost mixed with microorganism compost fermented for the production of high quality plug seedlings of tomato and red pepper. The results are summarized as follows. As a result of compost analysis, EC value was increased with increment of microorganism compost supplemented but lowered gradually in the late period of seedlings growth, pH value of microorganism compost fermented was 9.3 which is strong alkalinity. In the plot of 30 percent of microorganism compost fermented early growth of tomato seedlings was better in terms of plant height, leaf area and total dry weight. However, early growth of red pepper seedlings was shown in the plot of supplemented with 20 percent of microorganism compost fermented. The higher the mixing rate over 60 percent of micrroganism compost fermented to the soil used retarded the seedlings growth regardless of tomato and red pepper.

고추 연작지(連作地)에 있어서 목질탄화물(木質炭化物) 시용(施用)이 생육(生育) 및 토양(土壤)의 화학성(化學性)에 미치는 효과(效果) (Effect of Application of Woody Chared Materials on the Plant Growth and the Chemical Properties of Soil in the Continuous Cropping Field of Red Pepper)

  • 고추 연작지(連作地)에 있어서 목탄(木炭)의 시용(施用)이 고추의 생육반응(生育反應)과 토양(土壤) 개량(改良)에 미치는 효과(效果)를 알아보기 위하여 20년 이상 고추를 연작한 포장을 선정하여 2년간(年間)에 걸쳐 시험(試驗)을 실시(實施)하였다. 고추의 생육(生育)은 목탄(木炭)의 시용량(施用量)이 많아질수록 촉진(促進)되었으며 생육(生育)이 후기(後期)까지 지속적(持續的)으로 유지(維持)되었고 수량(收量)은 증가(增加)하는 경향(傾向)을 보였다. 역병(疫病)의 발병율(發病率)은 1년차(年次)의 시용량(施用量) 시험에 있어서는 목탄 500kg/10a 처리구(處理區)가 가장 적었는데 무처리(無處理)에 비하여 9%이상 감소(減少)하였다. 2년차 시용립자(施用粒子)의 형태(形態) 시험(試驗)에서는 역병(疫病) 발병율(發病率)이 처리간(處理間)에 유의성(有意性)있는 차이를 보이지 않았다. 목탄(木炭)과 목혹액(木酷液)의 혼용효과(混用效果)는 크게 나타나지 않았다. 목탄시용(木炭施用)으로 토양의 pH는 상승(上昇)하였으며 EC는 저하(低下)하였다. 양(陽)이온중(中) Ca 및 Mg의 토양내(土壤內) 잔존량(殘存量)은 목탄시용구(木炭施用區)에서 감소하는 경향(傾向)을 보였다. 시용(施用) 목탄립자(木炭粒子)의 형태(形態)는 입상목탄(粒相木炭)이 가장 효과적(效果的)이었다. 목탄처리구(木炭處理區)에서 생육중기(生育中期)인 7월에 B/F값이 다소 상승(上昇)하는 경향이었으나 후기(後期)에는 처리간(處理間)에 차이(差異)가 없었다.

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of phosphorus acid (H3PO3) addition to the horticultural bed soil on the initial growth of red pepper (Capsicum annuum L. cv.), cucumber (Cucumis sativus L. cv.), and kimchi cabbage (Brassica campestris L. ssp. pekinensis (Lour.) Rupr. cv.). The stem heights of red pepper and cucumber were 46.1% and 23.0% greater in the 50 mg/L of phosphorus acid treatment than the untreated (control). Further, the stem diameter of pepper and cucumber were 48.7% and 23.0% greater in the 50 mg/L of phosphorus acid treatment than the control. In addition, the number of kimchi cabbage leaves was 47.5% greater in the 50 mg/L of phosphorus acid treatment than the control. The dry weights of red pepper, cucumber and kimchi cabbage were 72.9%, 16.5%, and 30.4% heavier in the 50 mg/L than the control, respectively. Cations (K, Ca, and Mg) and total phosphorus (T - P) were quantitatively analyzed for these three horticultural crops. The concentrations of K, Ca, and Mg, and T - P were higher in the 50 mg/L of phosphorus acid than the control, respectively. Based on the results obtained in this study, it appears that treatment of phosphorus acid in horticultural bed soil enhanced the growth of red pepper, cucumber and Kimchi cabbage.

Pine Forest Soil Characteristics and Major Soil Impact Factors for Natural Regeneration

  • This study was conducted to identify characteristics of domestic pine forest soils and to elucidate major soil influencing factors for natural regeneration. We analyzed the physico-chemical characteristics of the soil samples collected from 23 pine forests and confirmed the similar results with the forest soil characteristics. Soil pH, organic matter content, total nitrogen, exchangeable Ca, silt content, and exchangeable Al were selected as the major soil factors among the exposed soils through 10 days of pine seedlings exposure and cultivation experiments and statistical analysis. Multiple regression analysis showed that soil pH had a positive effect on specific root length (SRL) of red pine seedlings and exchangeable Al was a significant factor affecting negative change in SRL. Taken together, the reduction of exchangeable Al by soil pH adjustment would be helpful for natural regeneration by restoring the forest and improving the fine root and root integrity of pine seedlings. Therefore, soil pH and exchangeable Al could be recommended as a major soil factor to be carefully considered in the monitoring and management of soil in pine forests that need to be renewed in the future.
