  • This paper relates with the improved CMA blind adaptive equalization algorithm which uses the constellation matching method that improve the inverse modelling efficiency of a communication channel compared to the present CMA blind adaptive equalizer. The amplitude distortion can be compensated in the present CMA blind adaptive equalizer which is used for the reduction of intersymbol interference by distortion that generate such as a band limited wireless mobile channel, but in the improved adaptive alogorithm operates with the minimize the amplitude phase distortion in the output of equalizer by applying the cost function that is composition of additional signal constellation matching error terms. In order to evaluation of the inverse modeling efficiency of improved algorithm, the residual intersymbol interference and recovered signal constellation were compared by computer simulation. As a result of comparion of computer simulation, the improved algorithm has a good stability in the residual intersymbol interference in the steady state, but it has a slow convergence rate in the adaptation state in initial state.

  • This paper presents a new formulation for transient simulations of microwave propagation in heterogeneous unbounded domains. In particular, perfectly-matched-layers(PMLs) are introduced to allow for wave absorption at artificial boundaries used to truncate the infinite extent of the physical domains. The development of the electromagnetic PML targets the application to engineering mechanics problems such as structural health monitoring and inverse medium problems. To formulate the PML for plane electromagnetic waves, a complex coordinate transformation is introduced to Maxwell's equations in the frequency-domain. Then the PML-endowed partial differential equations(PDEs) for transient electromagnetic waves are recovered by the application of the inverse Fourier transform to the frequency-domain equations. A mixed finite element method is employed to solve the time-domain PDEs for electric and magnetic fields in the PML-truncated domain. Numerical results are presented for plane microwaves propagating through concrete structures, and the accuracy of solutions is investigated by a series of error analyses.

  • Frequency hopping system has been adopted to many communication systems in order to overcome the inferior situation such as jamming environment. But typically its processing gain being limited, data interfered by jamming signal could not be fully recovered. This can be enhanced by combing FH system with spatial interference canceller which is a kind of active beamformer In this Paper, we proposed the compensation method of weight vector discrepancy according to the hopped frequencies and the PMBF method which is able to eliminate the inference effectively with less computational complexity. That is, the steering vector of wanted signals can be calculated from the frame without jamming signals using eigen analysis. New projection matrix extracted by the steering vector of wanted signal eliminates the interferences from the covariance matrix of received signal including wanted signal and jamming signals. This PMBF has similar performance of SINR beamformer with less computational complexity.

  • This paper suggests the packet loss recovery method to communicate in real time in the Internet. To reduce the effects of packet loss, Forward Error Correction (FEC) that adds redundant information to voice packets can be used. Adaptive Multi Rate Wideband(AMR-WB) codec which is recently selected by the Third Generation Partnership Project(3GPP) for GSM and the third generation mobile communication WCDMA system and has also been standardized in ITU-T for providing wideband speech services is used. The major cause for speech qualitly degradation in IP-networks is packet loss. So, We recovered single lossy packet by using FEC method and concealed continued errors. The proposed scheme if evaluated in the Gilbert Internet channel model. The high quality of audio maintained up to 30% packet loss.

  • This paper deals with the performance improvement by eliminating loop interference signal and inserting adaptive equalizer for phase compensation in OFDMA based Wibro relay station. The Wibro relay station is used for the extension of communication service area and for throughput improvement of base station. The loop interference is important factor of performance determination of relay station when transmitter and receiver is very closely located. In order to design interference canceller, we generated base-band OFDMA signal and then transmitted the signal along with pilot tones alined with two different combinations for training mode. And then, we generated received fading signal due to the loop interference added noise to the received signal. In the receiver, the transmitted signal is recovered by elimination of the interference signal with channel estimate and compensating phase by adaptive equalizer. The performance improvement was verified by computer simulation which show channel estimation, constellation of signal and BER characteristics according to the variation of SNR ratio.

  • With recent advancement of high-speed, multi-gigabit data transmission capabilities, transmitters usually send data without clock signals for reduction of hardware complexity, power consumption, and cost. Therefore clock and data recovery circuits(CDR) become important to recover the clock and data signals and have been widely studied. This paper presents the design of 10Gbps CDR in 0.18$\mu$m CMOS process. A quarter-rate bang-bang phase detector is designed to reduce the power and circuit complexity, and a 4-stage LC-type VCO is used to improve the jitter characteristics. Simulation results show that the designed CDR consumes 80mW from a 1.8V supply, and exhibits a peak-to-peak jitter of 2.2ps in the recovered clock. The chip layout area excluding pads is 1.26mm$\times$1.05mm.

  • In this study, recycling sludge water of Ready-mixed concrete, and was carried out to optimize the system for recycling of the $CO_2$. The most important process in the liquid phase using a carbonation reaction can be recovered ready-mixed concrete is a process for the $Ca^{2+}$ release. $Ca^{2+}$ concentration of the experiment relative to the pH being lowered by the acidic substance during elution was performed. $CO_2$ was trapped in the MEA solution using a generator flue gas. In ready-mixed concrete can be synthesized $CaCO_3$ up to 11kg/1ton. The resulting $CaCO_3$ analysis results show that it is possible to use paper industry.

  • The pixel value of depth image is depth value so that different objects which are placed on nearby position have similar pixel value. Moreover, the pixels of depth image have distinct pixel values compared to adjacent pixels while those of color image has very similar values. Accordingly distorted depth image of multiview video plus depth (MVD) needs proper error concealment methods considering the characteristics of depth image when transmission errors are happened. In this paper, classifying regions of depth image to consider edge directions and then applying adaptive error concealment methods to each region are proposed. Recovered depth images utilize with multiview video data to synthesize intermediate-view point video. The synthesized view is evaluated by objective quality metrics to demonstrate proposed method performance.

  • In this paper, the engineering properties and estimation of drying shrinkage of concrete incorporating fly ash (FA), blast furnace slag (BS) and cement kiln dust (CKD) were discussed. FA, BS and CKD contents ranged from 0% to 20%. Water to binder ratio (W/B) also ranged from 40 to 50 %, with a 5% interval. For estimating drying shrinkage, an exponential model proposed by the author was applied, According to results, the use of FA, BS and CKD resulted in a decrease of flowability and air contents. As expected, the use of admixtures also decreases the early age strength of concrete, while at later age, due to a pozzolanic reaction of FA and BS, the compressive strength was recovered to a value comparable with that of plain concrete. For drying shrinkage, the use of admixtures led to an increase in the drying shrinkage of concrete. The exponential model suggested by the author showed good agreement between the calculated and experimental values both at early age and at later age.
