  • Chinese ethnic minorities are inheriting their own traditions based on thousands of years of community life. Yunnan province in china is a castle in which many ethnic minorities have been living on the basis of various natural environments. Their traditional village can be regarded as a place reflecting minorities' thousands year of history and culture, and elements of positive social spaces are seen from the old village. Streets and places of the village are accumulated as images for residents. Based on their imagination-concept, sketch maps, reflecting residents' cognitive perception were collected. Analysis of 21 sketch maps shows that architectural elements, forming a unique landscape and community life contribute to establish a unity of one nation. the oldest tree in the village has a strong specificity as a place with the belief that the tree protects all residents in the village. Space in the head of the residents and Social spaces, embedded in the memories of the residents living in the community continued organically and the roads of the village showed clear recognition. Following this, the analysis methodology of social spaces and sketch will be examined in depth.

  • Various object recognition using artificial intelligence basically shows planar results. It is based on classifying objects or identifying what objects are on the image. However, the original object has a three-dimensional shape, not a plane, and although the perception to obtain only simple results from the image does not matter, there is a lot of information that is insufficient when used in various fields. In this paper, checks the method of generating data in various fields of objects and whether it is meaningful by utilizing the characteristics of Layer that generates intermediate results with respect to image generation based on the GAN algorithm. It solves some of the problems in the hardware and collection process for generating existing multi-faceted data, and confirms that it can be utilized after data generation on several limited objects.

  • Due to recent enhance of safety law and regulations in construction sites, safety inspectors have been more required in construction sites. However, most of them are novice for safety inspection which have not enough experience and skill. Therefore, the novice safety inspector's performance on hazard recognition needs to be improved for effective safety management. The performance of safety inspection is influenced by the inspector's experience and background because the inspection is usually conducted by the inspector's eyes. Therefore, there is a difference in safety inspection performance between novice and experienced safety managers. This study aims to analyze the gap of risk perception between novice and experienced safety managers using quantitative visual data. For this objective, this study conducted eye tracking experiments for novice and experienced group to evaluate cognitive performance of safety risk factors. The results provides the level of safety awareness based on their experience in construction safety. The limitation of this study is a lack of the number of samples used in this study and did not consider the various characteristics of the participants. If these limitations are supplemented in future research, it can be used to develop safety education contents for novice safety managers.

  • This study aims to investigate whether the misalignment between syllable and word onsets due to the process of resyllabification affects Korean-English late bilinguals perceiving English continuous speech. Two word-spotting experiments were conducted. In Experiment 1, misalignment conditions (resyllabified conditions) were created by adding CVC contexts at the beginning of vowel-initial words and alignment conditions (non-resyllabified conditions) were made by putting the same CVC contexts at the beginning of consonant-initial words. The results of Experiment 1 showed that detections of targets in alignment conditions were faster and more correct than in misalignment conditions. Experiment 2 was conducted in order to avoid any possibilities that the results of Experiment 1 were due to consonant-initial words being easier to recognize than vowel-initial words. For this reason, all the experimental stimuli of Experiment 2 were vowel-initial words preceded by CVC contexts or CV contexts. Experiment 2 also showed misalignment cost when recognizing words in resyllabified conditions. These results indicate that Korean listeners are influenced by misalignment between syllable and word onsets triggered by a resyllabification process when recognizing words in English connected speech.

  • This paper is concerned with figuring out a scheme to facilitate UML utilization through examining the factors which affect the intention to use UML. For this, we conducted a survey of those factors among software engineers in IT service companies. In order to examine the factors affecting the intention to use UML, we developed a model by combining the Technology Acceptance Model and the Innovation Attributes Theory, which have been proved to explain well about the acceptance of new technologies and services. Statistical analysis shows that the subjective norm which is one of social factors has significant influence on the career consequences, and also on the compatibility when the result of UML utilization is demonstrable. The career consequences, the compatibility and the ease of use are found to have significant influence on the usefulness perception of UML utilization, implying that the recognition that one's future career can be affected in the long term by UML utilization is important in shaping how one perceives the usefulness along with the compatibility with one's current task type and the ease of use. The usefulness and the compatibility are evaluated to be the factors that have significant influences on the intention to use UML.
