With the rapid development of China economy, many engineering projects with large scale and investment were constructed in China and some were the biggest ones in the world. With the development of engineering practice, great progress in the research of engineering management of China was made and a large number of research findings were embodied in content of research papers and were represented by technical words. To know the state of arts in the research field of engineering management in China, three major parts, namely title, abstract and keywords of research papers in last five years from three representative Chinese journals about engineering management were chose as research materials. Unlike western languages, there are no delimiters between the words of Chinese, so the maximum matching and frequency statistics (MMFS) method, a text segmentation technique of text mining Chinese, was presented to extract the features consisting of technical words, phrases and words from the research materials. Recent research and developing trend of engineering management in China were found by comparing and analyzing the difference of technical words in the research materials of last five years.

Since The Korean Reliability Society had been founded in 1999, development history of reliability engineering in Korea is reviewed and research outputs and papers from 2008 to current are analyzed in terms of types of industry, product life cycle, hardware vs software, and theory vs application. The purpose of this research is to review the recent reliability engineering research conducted in Korea including development history as well as published papers to identify the weakness and/or deficiencies in order to suggest the future research directions, which would contribute the development of industries in Korea.

The construction or enlargement of the power facilities requires the compactness of them, and the development of power system amenities because of some reasons; the shortness of a site for power facilities, social request of the harmony of them with surroundings, and so on. For the insulator in this area, the research and development of polymer or composite insulator or its applications have been increased rapidly in some advanced countries, but the activities of our country are being in a weak step although our concern has been gradually enlarged about it in recent years. Thus, in this paper, we intend to introduce the trend of research and development of it in the inside and outside of the country.

A recent trend for product development requires that product design firms participate in every process in cooperations with clients. So, this study proposed an advanced practical management process for product design according to the new trend Because existing processes explain summary steps just including market research, design, engineering, manufacturing., to support the recent trend, an extended process which explains every steps should be prepared. Design development precesses include initial meeting, contact, kick-off meeting, market research, idea sketch, rendering, design drawing, design mock-up, design manual, engineering drawing, ES mock up, mold, manufacturing, and patent. To manage these whole design processes, designers should have abundant knowledge about them. This process has three merits: 1) understanding the whole processes, 2)the unity between design and manufactures, 3)collecting accurate information by market research, 4)elevating design quality. So, designers are able to manage whole product development processes. This practical management process proposes an advanced structure for product design development, and can be accepted for various product design development environments.

It is a main trend not to use organic solvents in the adhesive industry from the recent environmental and safe points of view. For example, water-based, hot-melt, or UV curable adhesives are being investigated. Several different kinds of tackifiers that are formulated in the adhesives in order to give them more functional properties like initial tack and higher adhesion, etc., have been proposed to meet the recent trend. Firstly, the characteristics and fundamental properties of the respective materials are presented. In Japan, the trend to develop the water-based adhesives is most remarkable. While the environmental regulations are getting harder, Arakawa Chemical has been spending a lot of energy for the research, and developed toluene-free and solvent free tackifier dispersions that are presented precisely.

Recent changes in the coastal sea surface temperatures (SST) in Korea are studied by time series analysis of daily SST data during the last 60 years (1936-1995) at 18 coastal observation stations of the National Fisheries Research and Development Institute. The climate of coastal SST in Korea are rapidly changing in recent years. General trends of coast SST changes in Korea are as follows. The annual averages of SST are increasing. The annual ranges of SST variation are decreasing. The winter SST are increasing while the summer SST have a decreasing tendency. Climatic changes in coastal SST in recent 30 years (1965-1995) are more pronounced than those in the last 60 years (1936-1995). The observed trend of coast SST implies that the climate in Korea shows a tendency to shift from temperate zone to subtropical zone.

The purpose of this paper was to study interior design research trend through categorizing the research in interior design process and investigating the research method used at each stage of the process. The ultimate aim was to evaluate the relationship of design process and interior design research and to indicate the guide line of future research. As results of the study, interior design research did not reflect recently increasing renovation and remodeling trend since evaluation research was less performed than data collection, program and design development research. Only educational/research space showed higher rate in evaluation research. In recent years, interior design research is interested in objective design problem solving since programming research Increased, and in user-participation planning since questionnaire and interview research Increased as data collection method. For the future research, it is expected researchers to show creative thinking process on the stage of design development and to develop various research method on the stage of evaluation.
