효율적인 버퍼 캐시 관리를 위한 동적 캐시 분할 블록교체 기법 (Dynamic Cache Partitioning Strategy for Efficient Buffer Cache Management)

  • The effectiveness of buffer cache replacement algorithms is critical to the performance of I/O systems. In this paper, we propose the degree of inter-reference gap (DIG) based block replacement scheme that retains merits of the least recently used (LRU) such as simple implementation and good cache hit ratio (CHR) for general patterns of references, and improves CHR further. In the proposed scheme, cache blocks with low DIGs are distinguished from blocks with high DIGs and the replacement block is selected among high DIGs blocks as done in the low inter-reference recency set (LIRS) scheme. Thus, by having the effect of the partitioning the cache memory dynamically based on DIGs, CHR is improved. Trace-driven simulation is employed to verified the superiority of the DIG based scheme and shows that the performance improves up to about 175% compared to the LRU scheme and 3% compared to the LIRS scheme for the same traces.

Analyzing the Effect of Trust in Reviews on Trust in a Product and a Company: Using the Trust Transfer Theory

  • The aim of this research is to examine the impact of trust in reviews. Expertise, enjoyment, recency, and usefulness-four aspects of reviews-are designated as independent variables, and trust in reviews has been chosen as the mediating variable. The dependent variables are trust in firms and trust in products. For explaining the flow of trust, this study uses the theory of Trust Transfer. The study's findings demonstrated that customer trust in a product leads to consumer trust in a company, which is derived from trust in reviews. Reviews were found to be important from a practical standpoint. Furthermore, it was discovered that a product's category or features would have an impact on how reviews are trusted.

자극물의 제시방법에 따른 대인지각에서의 편파 (The experimental bias in person perception as results of presentation method of stimulus)

  • The purpose of this study was (1) to identify the experimental bias which could appear person perception as results of presentation methods (2) to find out the most desirable method in presentation of stimulus. The research was a quasi experiment and the subjects were 773 male and female undergraduate students. The experimental instruments consisted of a set of stimulus and semantic differential scales of 7- point hi-polar adjectives. The collected data were analyzed by Factor Analysis, ANOVA(analysis of variance), Scheffe's multiple range test. The independent variables were presentation orders and presentation time of stimulus. The results were as follows: First, five factors which were potency, sociality, appearance, evaluation, activity impression dimensions emerged to account for the methods of development of stimulus. Second, the presentation order of stimulus in the combination of four stimuli sets had significant effects on the 3 impressional factors(sociality, appearance, evaluation). The presentation order of stimuli in the combination of eight stimuli set had significant effects on the 3 impressional factors(potency, sociality, appearance) and the presentation order of stimuli in the combination of eight stimuli set showed a significant effect on memorization of stimulus and the results support the recency effect. Third, the presentation time of stimuli had significant effects on the 2 impressional factors(potency, activity). 30 seconds presentation as well as free duration time resulted less experimental bias than 3 seconds presentation.

  • 본 논문에서는 기존의 문제점들을 극복하기 위한 개선된 E-Model을 제안하였다. 새로운 모델은 버스트 패킷손실과 최신효과를 적용하여 VoIP 품질 측정의 정확도를 높일 수 있다. 개선된 E-Model은 길버트 모델에 의해 생성된 버스트 패킷 손실에 따라 NR(Network R) 값과 UR(User R) 값을 측정한다. 기존 모델들인 MOS, PESQ, E-Model과 비교하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하였으며, 실험 결과 개선된 E-Model이 기존 모델들보다 정확하고 신뢰성 있음이 증명되었다.

로열티 포인트 사용행동과 고객생애가치(Customer Lifetime Value) 분석 (The Redemption Behavior of Loyalty Points and Customer Lifetime Value)

  • The main objective of this research is to investigate whether the RFM (recency-frequency-monetary value) information of a customer's redemption behavior of loyalty points can improve the prediction of future value of the customer. The conventional measurement of customer value has been primarily based on purchase transactions behavior although a customer's future behavior can be also influenced by other interactions between the customer and the firm such as redemption of rewards in a loyalty program. We theorize why a customer's redemption behavior can influence her future purchases and thereby the customer's total value based on operant learning theory, goal gradient hypothesis, and lock-in effect. Using a dataset from a major book store in Korea spanning three years between 2008 and 2010, we analyze both purchase transactions and redemption records of over 10,000 customers. The results show that the redemption-based RFM information does improve the prediction accuracy of the customer's future purchases. Based on this result, we also propose an improved estimate of customer lifetime value (CLV) by combining purchase transactions and loyalty points redemption data. Managerial implications will be also discussed for firms managing loyalty programs to maximize the total value customers.

기술혁신의 특성이 파급효과에 미치는 영향에 대한 분석: 반도체산업의 실증분석 (Effects of Innovation Characteristics on Spillover: An Empirical Evidence from US Semiconductor Industry)

  • 이 논문의 목적은 기술혁신의 특징과 그에 따른 파급효과를 알아보는 것이다. 기존의 기술혁신에 대한 연구에서 기술혁신의 특징을 정의하고 분류하는 연구가 많이 진행되었다. 이런 다양한 기술혁신의 특징들 중에서 기술혁신에 대한 의사결정에 영향을 미치는 위험부담(Risk)과 관계되는 특징들을 이 연구에서 사용하였다. 첫 번째는 산업의 관점에서 본 위험부담에 관계되는 특징으로, 과거에 개발했던 기술혁신과의 연관성을 나타내는 산업기술연관성이다. 두 번째는 기업의 관점에서 본 위험부담에 관계되는 특징으로, 기업의 범위에서 과거에 개발했던 분야의 기술혁신과의 연관성을 나타내는 기업기술연관성이다. 세 번째는 시간의 관점에서 본 위험부담에 관계되는 특징으로, 기술혁신이 개발 당시 얼마나 최근의 연구인지 알려주는 최신성(Recency)이다. 2000년도 미국 반도체 산업의 특허자료(USPTO)로 분석한 결과, 기술혁신의 특징들 중 산업기술연관성과 기업기술연관성이 기술의 파급효과에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 것을 발견하였다. 즉, 산업의 관점과 기업의 관점 모두 위험부담이 적은 기술혁신이 더 큰 파급효과를 가지고, 시간의 관점에서 본 기술혁신의 최신성은 기술의 파급효과에 중요한 요인이 아니라는 것을 알 수 있었다. 즉, 성숙기 시장에서는 기존의 기술혁신을 향상시키는 혁신과 자기기업기술을 많이 이용한 기술혁신이 큰 파급효과를 가진다는 것을 알 수 있었다.
