  • This paper introduces rule-based reasoning (RBR) based self-recovery system for network fault in ubiquitous computing. This system is fault management system for fault recovery of rule-based for self-recovery in ubiquitous computing environment. We proposed rules of network fault recovery applied the system as a distinguished reason of network fault. And, in this paper, the network fault self-recovery system proved the rules that applied each situatpion through the simulation.

  • 최근 시맨틱 웹에 대한 중요성이 부각되면서 다양한 분야에서 이와 관련된 연구가 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 시맨틱 웹 기술의 구성은 크게 RDF와 단일화된 데이터모델, 그 위에 규정 되어지는 DAML+OIL(OWL)과 같은 의미를 표현할 수 있는 언어, 웹 자원들을 나타내기 위한 표준화된 용어 규정의 온톨로지, 그리고 그러한 의미적인 것들의 생성과 처리를 지원하는 툴로 이루어졌다. 시맨틱 웹에서 현재 온톨로지에 대한 연구와 사례들은 많이 연구가 되고 있지만 시맨틱 웹기반에서 Rules에 대한 연구는 미약하다. 본 논문에서는 Rules을 운용함에 있어서 기존의 자동 추론 방식을 통해 개발되고 있는 RuleML을 분석하고 향후 이기종간의 Rules에서의 상호운용성을 높여 시스템간의 지식을 공유하는 방법을 분석한다.

Context-Awareness Healthcare for Disease Reasoning Based on Fuzzy Logic

  • This paper proposes Context-Awareness Healthcare for Disease Reasoning based on Fuzzy Logic. It consists of a Fuzzy-based Context-Awareness Module (FCAM) and a Fuzzy-based Disease Reasoning Module (FDRM). The FCAM computes a Correlation coefficient and Support between a Condition attribute and a Decision attribute and generates Fuzzy rules by using just the Condition attribute whose Correlation coefficient and Support are high. According to the result of accuracy experiment using a SIPINA mining tool, those generated by Fuzzy Rule based on Correlation coefficient and Support (FRCS) and Improved C4.5 are 0.84 and 0.81 each average. That is, compared to the Improved C4.5, the FRCS reduces the number of generated rules, and improves the accuracy of rules. In addition, the FDRM can not only reason a patient’s disease accurately by using the generated Fuzzy Rules and the patient disease information but also prevent a patient’s disease beforehand.

  • While the existing Web focuses on the interface with human users based on HTML, the next generation Web will focus on the interaction among software agents by using XML and XML-based standards and technologies. The inference engine, which will serve as brains of software agents in the next generation Web, should thoroughly understand the Semantic Web, the standard language of the next generation Web. As abasis for the service, the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) has recommended SWRL (Semantic Web Rule Language) which had been made by compounding OWL (Web Ontology Language) and RuleML (Rule Markup Language). In this research, we develop a backward chaining inference engine SMART-B (SeMantic web Agent Reasoning Tools -Backward chaining inference engine), which uses SWRL and OWL to represent rules and facts respectively. We analyze the requirements for the SWRL-based backward chaining inference and design analgorithm for the backward chaining inference which reflects the traditional backward chaining inference algorithm and the requirements of the next generation Semantic Web. We also implement the backward chaining inference engine and the administrative tools for fact and rule bases into Java components to insure the independence and portability among different platforms under the environment of Ubiquitous Computing.

  • Performance assessment was introduced to improvement of self-directed learning and method of assessment for differenced learning as the seventh educational curriculum is enforced. Performance assessment is overcoming limitation about problem solving ability and higher thinking abilities assessment that is problem of a written examination and get into the spotlight by way for quality of class and school normalization. But, performance assessment has problems about possibilities of assessment fault by appraisal, fairness, reliability, and validity of grading, ambiguity of grading standard, difficulty about objectivity security etc. This study proposes fuzzy performance assessment system to solve problem of the conventional performance assessment. This paper presented an objective and reliable performance assessment method through fuzzy reasoning, design fuzzy membership function and define fuzzy rule analyzing factor that influence in each sacred ground of performance assessment to account principle subject. Also, performance assessment item divides by formation estimation and subject estimation and designed membership function in proposed performance assessment method. Performance assessment result that is worked through fuzzy performance assessment system can pare down burden about appraisal's fault and provide fair and reliable assessment result through grading that have correct standard and consistency to students.

  • In recent, the issues of sensitivity and psychology of human have received much attention from researchers and practitioners. In this paper. we analyze the information of color and location in order to detect the sensitivity and psychology by means of human vision on color space organization in a presented picture. After this process, we propose a method to determine psychology states through the space organization by using a fuzzy membership function which can be used to analyze direction information for the sensitivity. The proposed method is applied to the psychology states based on the space organization of Alschuler and Hattcick's method and to the space organization of Gunnwald's method. As a result, we present that the proposed method is very similar to a pattern classification of Alschuler and Grunwald.

  • Even though there are some studies on the deep drawing process and process planning, little study has been done on the methodology of process planning of secondary operations of deep drawing such as 'piercins'. In this paper, first, we systematized the methodology of the process planning of secondary operations on axisymmetric cup. Second we described the development of the expert system for their CAPP For these studies, we extracted the knowledge of their process planning from experts and analysed and systemized them. To develop the expert system, rule-based reasoning paradigm is used. The shape information of manufacturing features of secondary operations are manually input to the system through SUI. The process planning results are automatically connected to AutoCAD. We believe that the systematized process knowledge and the development of the expert system for its CAPP could give lots of aids to the associated field.

  • The agent system that can adjust the workload dynamically through thc periodical monitoring of the VoD system comprises the agency part interfacing the VoD system and the intelligence part reasoning or learning the facts required for the adjustment of workload. This paper proposes a learning method that can apply to the intelligence part of the agent system. The proposed method can adjust the workload more efficiently by the rule's reasoning process and case-based learning process. An experiment of implementing a simulator was conducted to see whether or not application of the proposed method to VoD systems is efficient. As a result of the experiment, it was found that the throughput and the average waiting time of the VoD server were relatively improved when the proposed method was applied compared to existing means.

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest a grounded theory on the process of undergraduate students' generating pattern-knowledge about scientific episodes. The pattern-discovery tasks were administered to seven college students majoring in elementary education. The present study found that college students show five types of procedural knowledge represented in the process of pattern-discovery, such as element, elementary variation, relative prior knowledge, predictive-pattern, and final pattern-knowledge. Furthermore, subjects used seven types of thinking ways, such as recognizing objects, recalling knowledges, searching elementary variation, predictive-pattern discovery, confirming a predictive-pattern, combining patterns, and selecting a pattern. In addition, pattern-discovering process involves a systemic process of element, elementary variation, relative prior knowledge, generating and confirming predictive-pattern, and selecting final pattern-knowledge. The processes were shown the abductive and deductive reasoning as well as inductive reasoning. This study also discussed the implications of these findings for teaching and evaluating in science education.
