Offline Camera Movement Tracking from Video Sequences

  • In this paper, we propose a method to track the movement of camera from the video sequences. This method is useful for video analysis and can be applied as pre-processing step in some application such as video stabilizer and marker-less augmented reality. First, we extract the features in each frame using corner point detection. The features in current frame are then compared with the features in the adjacent frames to calculate the optical flow which represents the relative movement of the camera. The optical flow is then analyzed to obtain camera movement parameter. The final step is camera movement estimation and correction to increase the accuracy. The method performance is verified by generating a 3D map of camera movement and embedding 3D object to the video. The demonstrated examples in this paper show that this method has a high accuracy and rarely produce any jitter.

  • A vehicle driving simulator is a virtual reality device which makes a human being feel as if the one drives a vehicle actually. The driving simulator is effectively used for studying interaction of a driver-vehicle and developing the vehicle system of new concepts. The driving simulator consists of a motion platform, a motion controller, a visual and audio system, a vehicle dynamic analysis system, a vehicle operation system and etc. The vehicle dynamic analysis system supervises overall operation of the simulator and also simulates dynamic motion of a multi-body vehicle model in real-time. In this paper, the main procedures to develop the driving simulator are classified by 4 parts.   • In this study, we calculated arc discharges happened in high-voltage circuit breakers for understanding the complex physics and the probability of thermal breakdown. The four main parts of arc model for this virtual-reality are radiation, PTFE abaltion, Cu evaporation and turbulence. Among these important parts the turbulence model can be critical to the reliability of computation results during high-current period because the plasma flow is affected by high eat energy and mass momentum. Two kinds of turbulence model, zero-equation model and two-equation model, are applied for these calculations and are compared with the measured pressure data inside a chamber.

  • In this study, we calculated arc discharges and flow characteristics driven by arcs in a thermal puffer chamber, which is one of most outstanding high-voltage interrupters, for understanding the complex physics and the probability of thermal breakdown. The four main parts of arc model for this virtual-reality are radiation, PTFE ablation, Cu evaporation, and turbulence. Among these important parts the turbulence model can be critical to the reliability of computation results during the whole arcing history because the plasma flow is affected by high heat energy and mass momentum. Two turbulence models, the Prandtl's mixing length model and the standard $k-\varepsilon$ model, are applied for these calculations and are compared with pressure-rise inside chamber and arc voltage between the contacts as well as flow characteristics near current zero.

  • Thermal fatigue life prediction for solder joints becomes the most critical issue in present microelectronic packaging industry. And lead-free solder is quickly becoming a reality in electronic manufacturing fields. This trend requires life prediction models for new solder alloy systems. This paper describes the life prediction models for SnAgCu and SnPb solder joints, based upon non-linear finite element analysis (FEA). In case of analyses of the SnAgCu solder joints, two kinds of shapes are used. As a result, it is found that the SnAgCu solder has longer fatigue life than the SnPb solder in temperature cycling analyses.

A Phenomenological Study on Becoming a Father: Experience in Parenting Young Children (아버지 되어가기에 관한 현상학적 연구: 영유아 자녀를 양육하는 남성을 대상으로)

  • Objective: In this study, the author aimed to explore the meaning of fathers' parenting experience by interviewing and analyzing their experience qualitatively. Methods: Ten fathers who had infants or young children participated in this study. The data were collected from individual in-depth interviews of the fathers and were analyzed in accordance with the Colaizzi's phenomenology analysis procedure. Results: As a result of analysis, the parenting experience of the fathers could be summarized into 42 themes and the themes were categorized into 7 clusters. The clusters could be categorized again into two categories; 'the rebirth of the daddy' and 'the reality of the daddy'. And each of the 4 and 3 clusters were included into each category. Conclusion/Implications: The results of this study revealed the real features of fathers who had infants or young children, and are expected to be used as supporting materials or intervention for fathers who are trying to become good fathers.

  • In this study, through the development of the Survey questions for employments to increase employment rates which has 2 items in 23 questions and the analysis of the questionnaire based on the response results of 289 senior students who are finding their jobs. It has the effect that providing basic data about employment preparatory stance and giving counseling, discussions and future directions. So there are carefully proposed desirable increasement plans of employment rates by considering the regional characteristics and reality.

An Approach for Error Detection in Ontologies Using Concept Lattices (개념격자를 이용한 온톨로지 오류검출기법)

  • The core of the semantic web is ontology, which supports interoperability among semantic web applications and enables developer to reuse and share domain knowledge. It used a variety of fields such as Information Retrieval, E-commerce, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Bio-informatics. However, the reality is that various errors might be included in conceptual hierarchy when developing ontologies. Therefore, methodologies and supporting tools are essential to help the developer construct suitable ontologies for the given purposes and to detect and analyze errors in order to verify the inconsistency in the ontologies. In this paper we propose a new approach for ontology error detection based on the Concept Lattices of Formal Concept Analysis. By using the tool that we developed in this research, we can extract core elements from the source code of Ontology and then detect some structural errors based on the concept lattices. The results of this research can be helpful for ontology engineers to support error detection and construction of "well-defined" and "good" ontologies.

A System Dynamics Model for Basic Material Price and Fare Analysis and Forecasting (시스템 시뮬레이션을 통한 원자재 가격 및 운송 운임 모델)

  • We try to use system dynamics to forecast the demand/supply and price, also transportation fare for iron ore. Iron ore is very important mineral resource for industrial production. The structure for this system dynamics shows non-linear pattern and we anticipated the system dynamic method will catch this non-linear reality better than the regression analysis. Our model is calibrated and tested for the past 6 year monthly data (2003-2008) and used for next 6 year monthly data(2008-2013) forecasting. The test results show that our system dynamics approach fits the real data with higher accuracy than the regression one. And we have run the simulations for scenarios made by possible future changes in demand or supply and fare related variables. This simulations imply some meaningful price and fare change patterns.

  • Objective : In March 2004, the second Informal Consultation Meeting on Development of International Standard of Acupuncture Point Locations was held in Beijing, China. Methods: Thirteen experts from WHO, Korea, China, and Japan attended the meeting, and they discussed the problems to establish an international standard of acupuncture point locations for education, research and quality of acupuncture treatment. Results and Conclusions : Based on the fundamental principles of respecting and reality, they recommended to determined the location of acupuncture points in the way of combining documentary analysis, clinical practices and factual measurements.
