Application of the Modified Real-Time Medical Information Standard for U-Healthcare Systems by Using HL7 and Modified MFER(TS-MFER) (HL7과 수정된 MFER(TS-MFER)을 접목한 U-healthcare 실시간 의료정보 표준화 적용)

  • U-healthcare is maintaining of users' health without limitations from where and when they are. As it is important to guarantee compatibility between heterogeneous systems in U-healthcare, a medical information standard is compulsory. An adequate standard means that it is easy to understand and it can cover wide range of information types and various medical devices. Among them, HL7(Helath Level 7) has those traits, but HL7 is not adequate for non-text message, especially for medical waveform. JAHIS suggested an appropriate standard, that is MFER. MFER has many advantages for representation of medical waveform, but it is still not good for real-time applications. In U-healthcare, there are lots of needs for real-time application, so we need a standard that can have useful properties of MFER and HL7, and support real-time. In this article, there are two main topics. The first one is introducing MFER and HL7. Second, the new scheme(TS-MFER with HL7) is developed by modifying MFER and HL7 for real-time applications.

  • TCP and UDP is a transport layer protocol of Internet. TCP is a connection oriented protocol which supports a reliable data transfer by offering error and flow control, but it bring a transmission delay. On the other hand, the UDP is a connectionless protocol which does not carry out error and flow control, but it guarantees a realtime transmission. There are hardly any protocols which supports not only realtime functions but also data reliability. In this paper, we have designed and implemented a new TCP mode option which supports reliable realtime transmission. Our designed TCP performs an error recovery process during a fixed amount of time. This time is negotiated during the connection establishment phase. Our designed TCP is tested in real environments, and we find that it is relatively faster than the standard TCP and more reliable than the UDP. It can be used for the reliable transfer of realtime multimedia data.

Accuracy Analysis of Code-based PPP-RTK Positioning Utilizing K-SSR Correction Messages Outside the Reference Network

  • Precise Point Positioning-Real Time Kinematic (PPP-RTK) refers to a technology that combines PPP with network-RTK in which a user does not directly receive observed data from a reference station but receives State-Space Representation (SSR) messages corrected for error components from a central processing station through Networked Transport of RTCM via Internet Protocol (NTRIP) or Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) for purposes of positioning. SSR messages, which refer to corrections used in PPP-RTK, are generated by a central processing station using real-time observed data collected from reference stations and account for corrections needed due to the ionosphere, troposphere, satellite orbital errors, satellite time offsets, and satellite biases. This study used a type of SSR message provided in South Korea, known as Korea-SSR (K-SSR), to implement a PPP-RTK algorithm based on code-pseudorange measurements and validated its accuracy within the reference station network. In order to validate the accuracy of the implemented algorithm outside of the network, the K-SSR was extrapolated and applied to positioning in reference stations in Changchun, China (CHAN) and Japan (AIRA). This also entailed a quantitative evaluation that measured improvements in accuracy in comparison with point positioning. The results of the study showed that positioning applied with extrapolated K-SSR correction data was more accurate in both AIRA and CHAN than point positioning with improvements of approximately 20~50%.

  • Recently due to the increase of cars and city life, the traffic congestion has worsened. It Is particularly worse in the center of the metropolis. Within the general public means, the public transport buses have the advantage of being more cheap, accessible and mobile. But as there is no separate lane for buses, the collision of cars and buses are creating damage to public service. In order to solve this situation, the bus priority signal system has been introduced to reduce the bus travel time and improve its services. The purpose of this study is to establish bus priority signal algorithm which builds bus efficiency under the real-time traffic signal control system and to analyze the effect of it. As the green time was calculated against real time (under the real-time traffic signal control system), compared to existing bus priority signal there was a reduction in cross street loss. The modified cycle was used to maintain signal progression. A case study was carried out using VISSIM simulation model. In result of this study, we found that there was a decrease in bus travel time despite some evidence of car delays and compared to existing bus priority signal the delay of dishonor could be reduced dramatically. The analysed result of person delay using MOE, is that there is evidence that when bus priority signal is in effect, the person delay is reduced.

Multiplexing of UHDTV Based on MPEG-2 TS (MPEG-2 TS 기반의 UHDTV 다중화)

  • In this paper, a method of MPEG-2 Transport Stream (TS) multiplexing for Ultra HDTV (UHDTV) and its design and implementation as a SW tool is described. In practice, UHD video may be divided into several HD videos and each video is encoded in parallel. Therefore, it is necessary to synchronize and multiplex multiple bitstreams encoding each HD video for transmitting and storing UHD video. In this paper, it is assumed that 4 HD videos partitioning a UHD spatially are encoded as H.264/AVC and two 5.0 channel audios are encoded by AC-3. Therefore, 4 H.264/AVC elementary streams (ESs) and 2 AC-3 ESs is mainly considered in the TS multiplexing of UHD. For the carriage of H.264/AVC and AC-3 over MPEG-2 TS, PES packetization and TS multiplexing are designed and implemented based on the extended specification of the MPEG-2 Systems and ATSC (Digital audio compressed standard), respectively. The implemented UHD TS multiplexing tool emulates real time HW operation in the time unit corresponding to the duration of one TS packet transmission in a given TS rate. In particular, in order to satisfy the timing model, the buffers defined in the TS System Target Decoder (T-STD) are monitored and their statuses are considered in the scheduling of TS multiplexing. For UHD multiplexing, two kinds of multiplexing structures, which are UHD re-multiplexing and UHD program multiplexing, are implemented and their strength and weakness are investigated. The developed UHD TS multiplexing tool is tested and verified in terms of the syntax and semantics conformance and functionalities by using a commercial analyzer and real-time presentation tools.

Edge Camera based C-ITS Pedestrian Collision Avoidance Warning System (엣지 카메라 기반 C-ITS 보행자 충돌방지 경고 시스템)

  • The prevention of pedestrian accidents in crosswalks and intersections is very important. The C-ITS services provide a warning service for preventing accidents between cars and pedestrians. In the current pedestrian collision prevention warning service according to the C-ITS standard, however, it is difficult to provide real-time service because it detects pedestrians from a video-analysis server in the control center and sends service messages through the ITS system. This paper proposes a pedestrian collision-prevention warning system that detects pedestrians in the local field using an edge camera and sends a warning message directly to the driver through a roadside unit. An evaluation showed that the proposed system could deliver the pedestrian collision prevention-warning message to the driver satisfying the delay time within the 300 ms required by the C-ITS standard, even in the worst case.

Study on the Optimum Route Travel Time for Bus to Improve Bus Schedule Reliability (정시성 확보를 위한 버스노선 당 적정 운행시간 산정 연구)

  • The accurate forecasting of the public transportation's transit and arrival time has become increasingly important as more people use buses and subways instead of personal vehicles under the government's public transportation promotion policy. Using bus management system (BMS) data, which provide information on the real-time bus location, operation interval, and operation history, it is now possible to analyze the bus schedule reliability. However, the punctuality should always be considered together with the operation safety. Therefore, this study suggests a new methodology to secure both reliability and safety using the BMS data. Unlike other studies, we calculated the bus travel time between two bus stops by dividing the total travel length into 6 sections using 5 different measuring points. In addition, the optimal travel time for each bus route was proposed by analyzing the mean, standard deviation and coefficient of variation of the each section's measurement. This will ensure the reliability, safety and mobility of the bus operation.

The Risks of Transport Documents under L/C Transaction (신용장거래에서 운송서류의 위험요인에 관한 연구)

  • L/C provides the exporter and the importer with safe assurance in the exchange of goods for payment in international trade. It involves a number of parties. Although the parties may have confidence in their client, bad faith or ignorance of international banking practice by any of these parties could cause the failure of transaction, which makes international trade a risky business. Most of the risks are found in transport document, which can cause disputes. There are many factors in the risk of transport documents under L/C transaction. One most common risk factor for the beneficiary in all transport documents is even if there is no discrepancy in document, the issuing bank or the applicant refuses to pay or delay payment insisting there is a discrepancy. In some very rare cases, the beneficiary may not get paid due to unfair injunction of the local court of the applicant. For the applicant, most common risk factors are fake bill and fraud. Risks classified according to the sorts of transport documents are as follows. 1. In B/L, payment can be refused because it is regarded as charter party B/L, although there is no real charter party contract. And the applicant can bear the potential risk of the loss or deterioration of cargo through transhipment of the cargo loaded on board in container if transhipment is prohibited without excluding of UCP 600 article 20 (c). 2. In charter party B/L, the applicant may take delivery without paying when charter party B/L is signed by charterer, which can result in a big loss for the beneficiary and the negotiating bank. And risks may arise when cargo is seized because the charterer does not pay the hire. The applicant and the issuing bank are also vulnerable to a risk - Against whom should they file a suit when cargo gets damaged during transportation? 3. In multimodal transport document, which is subject to a conflict because there is a big difference in viewpoints between transport industry and banks, conflicts may also arise when L/C requires ocean B/L and accepts multimodal transport document at the same time, but does not specify the details. 4. In air waybill, where the consignee is not the issuing bank but the applicant, risks may take place to the beneficiary when the applicant takes delivery but refuses to pay asserting minor discrepancies in document. The applicant may also bear the risk when cargo may not be loaded because air waybill is a received bill. Another risk may arise when although the applicant prohibits transhipment without excluding UCP 600 article 23 (c), the cargo may be transhipped, provided that the entire carriage is covered by one and the same air waybill.

A Real-time Monitoring and Modeling of Turbidity Flow into a Reservoir (실시간 저수지 탁수 감시 및 예측 모의)

  • The impacts of turbidity flow induced by summer rainfall events on water supply, aquatic ecosystems, and socioeconomics are significant and major concerns in most of reservoirs operations. As a decision support tool, the real-time turbidity flow monitoring and modeling system RTMMS is under development using a laterally integrated two-dimensional (2D) hydrodynamic and water quality model. The objectives of this paper is to present the preliminary field observation results on the characteristics of rainfall-induced turbidity flows and their density flow regimes, and the model performance in replicating the fate and transport of turbidity plume in a reservoir. The rainfall-induced turbidity flows caused significant drop of river water temperature by 5 to $10^{\circ}C$ and resulted in density differences of 1.2 to $2.6kg/m^3$ between inflow water and ambient reservoir water, which consequently led development of density flows such as plunge flow and interflow in the reservoir. The 2D model was set up for the reservoir. and applied to simulate the temperature stratification, density flow regimes, and temporal and spatial turbidity distributions during flood season of 2004 After intensive refinements on grid resolutions , the model showed efficient and satisfactory performance in simulating the observed reservoir thermal stratification and turbidity profiles that all are essentially required to enhance the performance of RTMMS.

Interdisciplinary Procedure for Scour Estimation at Inchon 2nd Bridge Piers (인천 제2연육교 세굴문제 해결을 위한 학제간 공동연구 방안)

  • More than 100 bridges have been annually collapsed or seriously damaged by scouring in Korea. It is extremely hard to understand the complicated scour mechanism and estimate the scour depth with accuracy in fields, however since scouring is a very complex manifestation of sediment transport unable to describe with a simple mathematical tool. In order to obtain the reasonable solution to bridge scouring, therefore, the interdisciplinary co-operation is strongly recommended. In this study the special task force team for the scour problems around Incheon 2nd bridge piers is made, in which all kinds of scour oriented researches such as oceangraphic survey, hydraulic model test, numerical simulation, scour rate test, real-time scour monitoring, etc will be carried out. This paper provides this interdisciplinary procedure in details.
