A Real-time Compact Structured-light based Range Sensing System

  • In this paper, we propose a new approach for compact range sensor system for real-time robot applications. Instead of using off-the-shelf camera and projector, we devise a compact system with a CMOS image-sensor and a DMD (Digital Micro-mirror Device) that yields smaller dimension ($168{\times}50{\times}60mm$) and lighter weight (500g). We also realize one chip hard-wired processing of projection of structured-light and computing the range by exploiting correspondences between CMOS images-ensor and DMD. This application-specific chip processing is implemented on an FPGA in real-time. Our range acquisition system performs 30 times faster than the same implementation in software. We also devise an efficient methodology to identify a proper light intensity to enhance the quality of range sensor and minimize the decoding error. Our experimental results show that the total-error is reduced by 16% compared to the average case.

  • 증강현실이란 실세계의 오브젝트에 가상의 오브젝트를 증강시키는 기술로 현실세계에 디지털 정보를 시각화 해주는 기능을 한다. 또한, 증강현실은 실세계와 가상세계를 실시간으로 결합함과 동시에 사용자와 컴퓨터간 상호작용하도록 함으로써 사용자에게 정보전달은 물론 지각능력에 도움을 주며 사용자의 몰입감을 높여주는 기술이라고 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 VRML로 모델링된 3차원 객체를 프로그래밍을 통해 3차원 데이터가 증강되는 컨텐츠를 개발하였다. 또한, 가상물체들의 조합을 통해 3차원 아바타 및 다양한 가상의 의상들을 증강시키는 응용기술을 제안하였다. 게다가, 사용자가 직접 마커를 움직여 컴퓨터와 사용자간의 상호작용이 가능한 인터페이스를 제시하여 사용자의 몰입감을 증대 시킬 수 있었다.

  • 이 논문은 객체관계형 데이터베이스 시스템의 객체지향적 특성인 추상데이터타입과 속성 및 연산의 상속성을 이용하여 구현가능한 시공간 질의 확장에 대하여 기술한다. 실세계의 공간 객체는 시간상에서 변화한다. 시공간 데이터베이스는 이러한 객체의 이력을 위해 공간 차원뿐만 아니라 시간차원을 관리하는 것을 지원한다. 제시된 시공간 데이터베이스는 공간 및 시간 차원을 각각 최상위 클래스로 구성하고, 시공간 클래스들은 이 클래스들을 상속 및 확장하여 구현되었다. 이 연구에서 수행된 시공간 데이터베이스를 위한 시간과 공간 확장은 기존 시스템에서 시공간 데이터베이스 시스템으로 전환을 용이하게 할 뿐 아니라 새로운 시공간 데이터베이스의 지원을 위한 기존 데이터베이스의 변경을 필요하지 않은 장점을 갖는다.

Optimal dimensioning for the corner combined footings

  • This paper shows optimal dimensioning for the corner combined footings to obtain the most economical contact surface on the soil (optimal area), due to an axial load, moment around of the axis "X" and moment around of the axis "Y" applied to each column. The proposed model considers soil real pressure, i.e., the pressure varies linearly. The classical model is developed by trial and error, i.e., a dimension is proposed, and after, using the equation of the biaxial bending is obtained the stress acting on each vertex of the corner combined footing, which must meet the conditions following: 1) Minimum stress should be equal or greater than zero, because the soil is not withstand tensile. 2) Maximum stress must be equal or less than the allowable capacity that can be capable of withstand the soil. Numerical examples are presented to illustrate the validity of the optimization techniques to obtain the minimum area of corner combined footings under an axial load and moments in two directions applied to each column.

  • This article discusses the findings of an empirical study conducted on 62 large organizations. The major purpose of the study was to analyze the relationship of Information System Resources distribution between the system plan control and system development and system operation. In this study information system resource is broadly Identified by computer hardware, software, data, procedure, operator. Because of the real centralization/decentralization issue facing organizations is much broader then the choice between alternative computer hardware configurations. And there are three separate resources of the information system that can be decentralized system plan and control, system development, system operations. The decision regarding how to organize each of these three separate resources is based on a different set of criteria. Furthermore, each decision can be made relatively independently of the others. In this article the results of a study are indicated below. In the degree of decentralization of information system resources between system plan control and system development and system operations were found the positive relationship. Therefore, the more information system resources are decentralized in the one dimension, the more information system resources are decentralized in the other dimensions, and the more information system resources are centralized in the one dimension, the more information system resources are centralized in the other dimensions.

  • In this paper, we describe an image processing algorithm which is able to recognize the road lane. This algorithm performs to recognize the interrelation between AGV and the other vehicle. We experimented on AGV driving test with color CCD camera which is setup on the top of vehicle and acquires the digital signal. This paper is composed of two parts. One is image preprocessing part to measure the condition of the lane and vehicle. This finds the information of lines using RGB ratio cutting algorithm, the edge detection and Hough transform. The other obtains the situation of other vehicles using the image processing and viewport. At first, 2 dimension image information derived from vision sensor is interpreted to the 3 dimension information by the angle and position of the CCD camera. Through these processes, if vehicle knows the driving conditions which are angle, distance error and real position of other vehicles, we should calculate the reference steering angle.

  • 기동표적의 추적은 실제의 표적 궤적과 기동의 통계적 특성을 미리 알 수 없기 때문에 매우 어려운 일이다. 이를 해결하기 위한 여러 가지 기법들이 제안되었고 이들 방식은 과거의 고전적인 방법에 비해 상당한 성능향상을 가져왔다. 이들 중에서 많이 사용되고 있는 방법은 입력추정, 가변차원 및 회전가속도 추정기를 사용하는 필터이다. 이들에 대한 성능은 각각 해석되어 왔으나 비교 분석되지 않았다. 본 논문에서는 칼만필터를 기본으로 한 이들 필터에 대하여 추적 성능을 비교한다. 실제적인 기동표적의 추적에 용이하게 적용할 수 있도록 3가지 종류의 회전 기동에 대해 Monte-Carlo 시뮬레이션을 수행하고 그 결과를 비교 분석함으로써 각 필터에 대한 특성을 해석한다.

  • 회귀모형에서 필요한 설명변수들의 선형결합들을 탐색하기 위한 방법 중의 하나로 분할역회귀모형을 들 수 있다. 이러한 분할역회귀모형에서 모형에 필요한 설명변수들의 선형결합의 수, 즉 차원을 결정하기 위한 여러 가지의 검정법들이 소개 되었으나 설명변수들의 정규성 가정을 필요로 하거나 다른 제약이 있다. 본 논문에서는 주성분분석에 대한 확률모형을 이 용하여 정규성가정을 필요로하지 않으며 분할의 수에 로버스트한 검정법을 소개하고 모의실험과 실제자료에 대한 적용결과를 통하여 기존의 검정법과 비교하였다.

  • GUMF (Global User Management Framework) that is proposed in this research can be applied to next generation network such as BcN (Broadband convergence Network), it is QoS guaranteed security framework for user that can solve present Internet's security vulnerability. GUMF offers anonymity for user of service and use the user's real-name or ID for management of service and it is technology that can realize secure QoS. GUMF needs management framework, UMS (User Management System), VNC (Virtual Network Controller) etc. UMS consists of root UMS in country dimension and Local UMS in each site dimension. VNC is network security equipment including VPN, QoS and security functions etc., and it achieves the QoSS (Quality of Security Service) and CLS(Communication Level Switching) functions. GUMF can offer safety in bandwidth consumption attacks such as worm propagation and DoS/DDoS, IP spoofing attack, and current most attack such as abusing of private information because it can offer the different QoS guaranteed network according to user's grades. User's grades are divided by 4 levels from Level 0 to Level 3, and user's security service level is decided according to level of the private information. Level 3 users that offer bio-information can receive secure network service that privacy is guaranteed. Therefore, GUMF that is proposed in this research can offer profit model to ISP and NSP, and can be utilized by strategy for secure u-Korea realization.

  • The foundations are classified into shallow and deep, which have important differences: in terms of geometry, the behavior of the soil, its structural functionality, and its constructive systems. The shallow foundations may be of various types according to their function; isolated footings, combined footings, strip footings, and slabs foundation. The isolated footings are of the type rectangular, square and circular. The combined footing may be rectangular, trapezoidal or T-shaped in plan. This paper presents a new model for T-shaped combined footings to obtain the most economical contact surface on the soil (optimal dimensioning) to support an axial load and moment in two directions to each column. The new model considers the soil real pressure, i.e., the pressure varies linearly. The classical model uses the technique of test and error, i.e., a dimension is proposed, and subsequently, the equation of the biaxial bending is used to obtain the stresses acting on each vertex of the T-shaped combined footing, which must meet the conditions following: The minimum stress should be equal or greater than zero, and maximum stress must be equal or less than the allowable capacity that can withstand the soil.
