모바일 디지털 기기로 인한 빛공해가 수면과 일주기 리듬에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Light Pollution from Mobile Digital Devices on Sleep and Circadian Rhythms)

  • Mobile digital devices are very familiar and useful devices in the daily life of modern people, and are used for various tasks such as communication, reading, writing, and playing media. As the use of mobile digital devices has become more prevalent, user time has also been increasing. In particular, the number of people who use digital devices before sleep is growing. The light pollution associated with these devices is classified into four categories: urban sky glow, glare, light trespass, and clutter. The pattern in which modern people use digital devices corresponds to light pollution caused by light trespass and clutter from light exposure to artificial light at night. The light pollution caused by digital devices can cause melatonin secretion suppression, delayed sleep onset, reduction of sleepiness before bedtime, and periodic rhythm and cognitive function disturbances. In addition, a study of children and adolescents showed there may be disturbances in the sleep-wake cycle and circadian rhythm, deterioration of sleep quality, and daytime fatigue due to light pollution caused by artificial light at night from mobile digital devices. A multi-faceted research effort is also necessary to investigate the healthy use of mobile digital devices based on research evidence and insights with an accurate evaluation of the influence of mobile digital devices as a form of light pollution.

  • DOS 환경하에서 개발된 기존의 대부분의 응용프로그램들은 ASCII 형식의 파일을 직접 읽고 씀으로써 외부 세계와 정보를 교환한다. 수많은 단위 모듈로 이루어지는 종합적인 패키지는 모듈 각자의 입출력뿐아니라 모듈 사이의 빈번한 자료교환을 수행하여야 하므로, 모듈의 수가 증가할수록 ASCII 파일을 통한 입출력은 비효율적이고 정확성도 결여된다. 본 논문에서는 용용프로그램이 필요로 하는 모든 정보를 데이터베이스에 저장하고, 패키지의 각 모듈이 데이터베이스와 직접 정보를 교환할 수 있는 인터페이스를 설계하고 이를 실제 구현하는 과정을 보이고 있다. 개발된 인터페이스를 기존의 프로펠러 설계-해석 시스템에 적용하여 데이터베이스와의 정보교류가 원활히 수행되고 있음을 보였다. 이상을 Unix 환경하의 워크스테이션이 아닌 Windows95 환경하의 개인용/휴대용 컴퓨터에서 구현함으로써 프로펠러의 설계-해석을 시간적 공간적 제약없이 수행할 수 있음을 보였다.

  • 본 논문은 ITU-T 권고안 J-38 부록 B에 명시된 전송방식의 분석 및 시뮬레이션을 토대로 성능을 분석 하였으며 FPGA 구현시 야기되는 문제점을 나타내고, 해결방안을 제시하였다. 구현상의 문제점으로는 크게 두가지로 분류되는데, 첫째로 다양한 부호화 방식과 변조방식 그리고 심볼 단위 및 비트 단위의 처리로 인해 많은 클럭수를 요구하는데 본 논문에서는 read/write 메모리를 이용하여 필요한 클럭수를 줄였다. 둘째로는 펑쳐링 부호화된 TCM 복호기에 펑처링 패턴에 정확한 동기를 얻지 못하면 프레임 동기 심볼인 UW(Unique sync-Word)를 획득하지 못한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 펑처링 패턴과 UW 심볼의 동기를 맞추는 알고리즘을 제시하였다. 이러한 알고리즘 분석 및 구현상의 문제점 해결을 토대로 본 논문에서는 ITU-T J38 annex B의 하향 스트림 채널 부호화 시스템을 VHDL 언어를 사용하여 FPGA 칩에 직접 구현하였다.

도서지역 고등학생을 위한 흥미로운 수학지도 방안 (On the Attractive Teaching Methods of Mathematics for High School students in Island's region)

  • 본 연구는 대학에서 연구와 교육을 통하여 축적된 수학교육에 대한 노하우를 상대적으로 소외된 도서지역 고등학생들에게 제공함으로써 고급지식 및 이론의 확산에 힘쓰고자 한다. 연구는 삶의 지혜를 얻기 위한 수학, 실용능력을 배양하기 위한 실용수학, 자신의 품격을 높이기 위한 교양 수학으로 나누어 진행하며 수학 공부를 해야 하는 이유, 수학문제 해결력을 증진시키는 방안, 수학 기기를 이용한 수학학습, 암호이론 및 게임이론 소개, GSP를 이용한 도형학습, 수학과 스포츠, 수학과 예술 등을 포함하여 교재를 개발하고 개발된 교재를 통하여 대학원생을 훈련하고 수업계획안에 따라 수업을 하게 하는 도서지역 고등학생을 위한 흥미롭고 효과적인 수학지도 방안을 연구한다.

NFC 기술을 이용한 카드 분실을 방지하기 위한 모바일 앱 (Mobile application for preventing card loss using the NFC technology)

  • 스마트폰 보급이 확대됨에 따라 지갑형 스마트폰 케이스에 신용 카드를 삽입하여 사용하는 사용자들이 늘고 있다. 본 논문은 스마트폰의 NFC(Near Field Communication) 기술을 이용하여 지갑형 스마트폰 케이스에서 신용 카드 분실 방지를 위한 안드로이드 앱을 개발하였다. 개발된 안드로이드 앱은 스마트폰의 NFC 읽기와 쓰기 기능을 이용한다. 지갑형 스마트폰 케이스에 신용 카드를 삽입하면 안드로이드 앱은 신용 카드의 NFC 태그를 감지하고 신용 카드 정보를 등록한다. 스마트폰 케이스에서 신용 카드가 이탈되면 안드로이드 앱은 자동으로 이를 감지하고 사용자에게 알린다. 사용자는 안드로이드 앱의 지도에서 분실된 신용 카드의 위치 정보를 확인할 수 있다. 안드로이드 프로그래밍에서 NFC 자동 이탈 기능이 추가되면 더욱 편리하게 기능을 구현할 수 있다.

사부송유목록에 대한 연구 (A study on the Sabu-Songyu-Mongnok(사부송유목록), or a Classified Catalogue for Recitation and Appreciation of Classics)

  • This paper is written to clarify the specific details of the Sabu-Songyu­Mongnok(사부송유목록). which is a reading list for recitation and appreciation of Chinese classics edited by Hong Suk-Chu(1774-1842) when he was 56 years old for the stimulation of his younger brother Hyun-Ju (1793-1865)'s reading life. In this study the catalogue's title interpretation. the time of the editing, the motive for the editing and the analysis of the contents are revealed as what they actually are. The main details are as followings. There is no date written on the Sabu-Songyu-Mongnok but the writer estimate it to be around 1829. After Hong Suk-Chu recognized the fact that although his younger brother Hyun-Ju was interested in reading but felt that he was a little too old to begin to read all the books of the whole classes. he selected the classic works from whole subjects, i.e. history, philosophy and anthology, that he thought which would best represent each subject. From these selected works he then picked out the most important chapters or parts of the works. Another motivation of the editing was for the stimulation of the reading life for Hong Suk-chu himself and for people like himself who were getting old and losing their vitality. The Sabu-Songyu-Mongnok consists of four categories. i.e. classics category, history category, philosophy category and anthology category, and in the catalogue, 26 different works are entered. The classics category has ten, the history category has six, the philosophy category has six and the anthology category has four. Each of the works are entered under the title of the book, and hen the chapter heading. The Sabu-Songyu-Mongnok was edited 19 years later than Hong-ssi toksorok(홍씨독서록) or an Annotated Bibliography of Korean and Chinese Books. Comparing each category of the catalogue with the Hong-ssi toksorok, the writer could catch the following characteristics. 1. Although there was no indication of the class heading, the sequence of the arrangement of the entries in the classics categories was the same as the sequence of the classes in the Hong-ssi toksorok. 2. The Zuo-shi Chun-qiu-zhuan(좌씨춘추전) is recorded in the class of Chunqiu of the classics category in the Hong-ssi toksorok, but in the Sabu-Songyu­Mongnok, it belongs to the history category. 3. In the philosophy category of the catalogue, Chuangtzu(장자) writings are included because it is so well written. 4. Unlike the categories of classics, history and anthology, the philosophy category is recorded under the author's name. This is fascinating because it unites with the conventional cataloguing practice of the west. 5. In the anthology category, the writings with the best styles from the Chuci(초사) or the poems of Chou, Wen-xuan(문선), wen-yuan-ying-hua(문여영화) are selected and classified into four parts: (1) poems, (2) proses of Han, Wei and Pre-Qin dynasties. (3) Si-liu-pian-li-wen(사육병려문), (4) classic style of writings of Tang and Song dynasties (당송고문). 6. There was an unusually large number of Han Yu's writings selected from the great eight poets of Tang and Song dynasty writings. (20 categories out of $43: 47\%)$ After comparing the entries of the Sabu-Songyu-Mongnok, it can be concluded that all the entries were also included in the Hong-ssi tokrorok. The fact that the sequence of the entries in the classics category and that the literary works were sequenced under the same subject by the year of editing or writing like as the Hong-ssi toksorok Also it is unusual that there was not even one literary work of a Korean in the catalogue. Anyhow this catalogue is the first recitation catalogue in our country that was edited for the people in the prime of life as well as for old people and is the only one existing today.

제 1, 2회 학생 과학 공동탐구 토론대회의 종합적 평가 (Summative Evaluation of 1993, 1994 Discussion Contest of Scientific Investigation)

  • The first and the second "Discussion Contest of Scientific Investigation" was evaluated in this study. This contest was a part of 'Korean Youth Science Festival' held in 1993 and 1994. The evaluation was based on the data collected from the middle school students of final teams, their teachers, a large number of middle school students and college students who were audience of the final competition. Questionnaires, interviews, reports of final teams, and video tape of final competition were used to collect data. The study focussed on three research questions. The first was about the preparation and the research process of students of final teams. The second was about the format and the proceeding of the Contest. The third was whether participating the Contest was useful experience for the students and the teachers of the final teams. The first area, the preparation and the research process of students, were investigated in three aspects. One was the level of cooperation, participation, support and the role of teachers. The second was the information search and experiment, and the third was the report writing. The students of the final teams from both years, had positive opinion about the cooperation, students' active involvement, and support from family and school. Students considered their teachers to be a guide or a counsellor, showing their level of active participation. On the other hand, the interview of 1993 participants showed that there were times that teachers took strong leading role. Therefore one can conclude that students took active roles most of the time while the room for improvement still exists. To search the information they need during the period of the preparation, student visited various places such as libraries, bookstores, universities, and research institutes. Their search was not limited to reading the books, although the books were primary source of information. Students also learned how to organize the information they found and considered leaning of organizing skill useful and fun. Variety of experiments was an important part of preparation and students had positive opinion about it. Understanding related theory was considered most difficult and important, while designing and building proper equipments was considered difficult but not important. This reflects the students' school experience where the equipments were all set in advance and students were asked to confirm the theories presented in the previous class hours. About the reports recording the research process, students recognize the importance and the necessity of the report but had difficulty in writing it. Their reports showed tendency to list everything they did without clear connection to the problem to be solved. Most of the reports did not record the references and some of them confused report writing with story telling. Therefore most of them need training in writing the reports. It is also desirable to describe the process of student learning when theory or mathematics that are beyond the level of middle school curriculum were used because it is part of their investigation. The second area of evaluation was about the format and the proceeding of the Contest, the problems given to students, and the process of student discussion. The format of the Contests, which consisted of four parts, presentation, refutation, debate and review, received good evaluation from students because it made students think more and gave more difficult time but was meaningful and helped to remember longer time according to students. On the other hand, students said the time given to each part of the contest was too short. The problems given to students were short and open ended to stimulate students' imagination and to offer various possible routes to the solution. This type of problem was very unfamiliar and gave a lot of difficulty to students. Student had positive opinion about the research process they experienced but did not recognize the fact that such a process was possible because of the oneness of the task. The level of the problems was rated as too difficult by teachers and college students but as appropriate by the middle school students in audience and participating students. This suggests that it is possible for student to convert the problems to be challengeable and intellectually satisfactory appropriate for their level of understanding even when the problems were difficult for middle school students. During the process of student discussion, a few problems were observed. Some problems were related to the technics of the discussion, such as inappropriate behavior for the role he/she was taking, mismatching answers to the questions. Some problems were related to thinking. For example, students thinking was off balanced toward deductive reasoning, and reasoning based on experimental data was weak. The last area of evaluation was the effect of the Contest. It was measured through the change of the attitude toward science and science classes, and willingness to attend the next Contest. According to the result of the questionnaire, no meaningful change in attitude was observed. However, through the interview several students were observed to have significant positive change in attitude while no student with negative change was observed. Most of the students participated in Contest said they would participate again or recommend their friend to participate. Most of the teachers agreed that the Contest should continue and they would recommend their colleagues or students to participate. As described above, the "Discussion Contest of Scientific Investigation", which was developed and tried as a new science contest, had positive response from participating students and teachers, and the audience. Two among the list of results especially demonstrated that the goal of the Contest, "active and cooperative science learning experience", was reached. One is the fact that students recognized the experience of cooperation, discussion, information search, variety of experiments to be fun and valuable. The other is the fact that the students recognized the format of the contest consisting of presentation, refutation, discussion and review, required more thinking and was challenging, but was more meaningful. Despite a few problems such as, unfamiliarity with the technics of discussion, weakness in inductive and/or experiment based reasoning, and difficulty in report writing, The Contest demonstrated the possibility of new science learning environment and science contest by offering the chance to challenge open tasks by utilizing student science knowledge and ability to inquire and to discuss rationally and critically with other students.

ALP 모형을 적용한 과학 수업이 초등학생의 과학적 의사소통능력에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of ALP Model-Applied Science Class on Elementary Students' Scientific Communication Skills)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 거꾸로 수업의 이점과 한계를 분석하여 실제수업 적용에 효율적인 ALP 모형을 개발하고, 그 효과를 확인하는 데 있다. 새로운 모형과 프로그램 개발 과정은 ADDIE 모형을 기초로 하였다. 먼저 거꾸로 수업의 어려움 분석과 관련된 연구들을 분석하여 새 모형의 주요 구성 요소를 추출하였고, 이 요소들을 수업의 흐름에 따라 재배치함으로써 ALP 모형을 개발하였다. 모형은 요약 강의 참여 단계(Attending a Short Lecture), 갭(gap) 이용 추가 학습 단계(Learning More in a Gap), 학생 중심 학습 수행 단계(Performing Student-centered Learning)의 3단계로 구성된다. 과학적 의사소통능력에 대한 모형의 효과를 살펴보기 위해 ALP 모형을 적용한 초등과학 프로그램을 개발하였다. 추가적인 정보를 얻기 위해서 수업에 대한 인식 조사와 실험집단 학생들 중 일부를 대상으로 면담을 진행하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 거꾸로 수업의 어려움을 분석한 논문을 살펴본 결과 수업의 흐름에 따라 다양한 종류의 어려움을 확인할 수 있었으나, 주로 사전학습과 관련된 것이었다. 이를 바탕으로 수업 구조적인 변화를 주어 사전학습의 동영상 강의 부분을 다시 교실로 가지고 오고, 자율적인 추가 학습 부분을 교실 밖에 유지하였다. 이를 통해 거꾸로 수업에서 의사소통능력 향상에 도움을 주는 학생중심학습 시간의 증대를 꾀하고, 거꾸로 수업의 사전학습에서 교사의 준비 부담과 학생의 참여 관련 어려움을 줄이고자 하였다. ALP 모형을 적용한 초등 과학 프로그램을 적용한 뒤에 과학적 의사소통능력측면의 효과를 살펴본 결과, 실험집단에서 유의한 향상이 있음을 확인하였다. 세부 결과에서는 표와 그림 형태와 주장형과 정당화 유형에서 유의한 효과를 확인하였다. 이는 학생들에게 학생중심학습의 시간과 기회를 보다 많이 제공한 결과로 볼 수 있으며, 이는 수업에 대한 인식조사나 면담에서도 확인할 수 있었다.

지역별(地域別)로 본 우리나라 유아환경(幼兒環境)의 실태조사(實態調査)와 바람직한 유아환경(幼兒環境)의 조성방안(造成方案)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) -농어촌(農漁村)·중소도시(中小都市)·대도시(大都市)를 중심으로- (A Comparative Study on Cultural Children's of Young Environment among Large and Small Cities and Rural Areas)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the different environment among the young children of large and small cities and rural areas in Korea, in order to know how these different environment have an effect on the children's intellectual and emotional development. For this subjects, 2,700 questionares with 51 items were distributed to the infants' mothers in each area to interview and answer. About 1,800 questionaires were gathered from 3 metropolitan, 6 cities and 6 rural areas in (each 2 farming, fishing and mining villages) The results of analyzing these questionaires were like following; 1. The average number of children of each family was 2.5 in large cities, 3.0 in small cities and 3.6 in the rural areas. 2. White about 75% of infants' parents of large cities graduated college education, only 6% of the rural parents did it. Most infants' parents of the rural areas have only graduated the elementary school. 3. About 90% of the rural, small and large cities family have had radios and T.V sets, and 90% of infants watched T.V program for 2 hours a day in average. 4. While about 50% of large cities' young children were not reared by their mother's milk but by milk and other foods, about 95% of rural infants by breasting mills. 5. Young children of large cities were wearing about 5 months earlier than those of the rural. 6. While 20% children of cities were taught in the kindergarten, most children of the rural areas could not be taught in the kindergarten. 7. About 45% young children of the rural areas and cities were understood and taught reading, writing letters and numbers by their parents, brothers and sisters before entering primary school. 8. While 50% young children of large cities have had pianos and were taught music in kindergarten or piano tutor's, most of the rural areas have not had pianos and could not be taught music. 9. Most children's favorite music songs were T.V signals or C.M songs in both the rural and cities. 10. While most children of cities have had lots of children's pictures or fairy tale books. most infants of the rural areas have had nothing or a few. 11. As lots of infants could not find their pleasure resorts of sport tools outside, they used to play in side streets or publicroads with their friends. 12. While most infant's parents in cities wanted to make their infants lawyer or medicine doctor, most parents in rural areas wanted to make their children teacher or technician. 13. About a half of Korean infants have had their own rooms or have lived in it together with their brother or sister. In conclusion, as children of large cities have had more various kinds of cultural circumstances than the rural areas in aspects of cultural institutions' tools and environment of their parents' education, books, toys, pleasure resorts and their own rooms, the intellectual development of the former could be considered to surpass those of the latter. In other words, the average IQ points of urban's young children are 10 point higher than those of the rural areas, which means the better circumstance would affect the infant's intellectual development. Therefore, the government must support to make good circumstances of the children in the rural areas.

FirmOS를 이용한 HDD 무결성 검사 시스템 개발에 관한 연구 (Study on Development of HDD Integrity Verification System using FirmOS)

  • 전파천문분야에서 관측데이터의 저장을 위해 대용량 HDD를 RAID로 연결한 디스크 팩을 활용하고 있다. VLBI 관측의 경우 관측속도가 빨라지고 광대역으로 확장되면서 많은 양의 관측데이터를 저장해야 한다. HDD는 사용회수가 많아질수록 고장이 많이 발생하고 있으며, 이것을 찾아서 복구하는데 많은 시간이 소요된다. 또한 고장난 HDD를 계속 사용할 경우 관측데이터의 손실이 발생한다. 그리고 새 HDD를 구입하여 많은 비용도 필요하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 FirmOS를 이용하여 SATA HDD의 무결성 검사 시스템을 개발하였다. FirmOS는 일반 서버보드와 CPU를 갖는 시스템에서 특정목적에만 동작하도록 개발한 OS이다. 개발한 시스템은 FirmOS 기반에서 SATA HDD의 물리적인 영역에 특정 패턴의 데이터를 쓰고 읽는 과정을 수행한다. 그리고 HDD 제어기의 메모리 영역에서 HDD로부터 읽어들인 저장된 패턴 데이터와 비교를 수행하는 방식으로 HDD의 무결성 검사를 확인하는 방법을 채용하였다. 개발한 시스템을 활용하여 VLBI 관측에서 활용하고 있는 디스크 팩의 고장여부를 쉽게 확인할 수 있었으며, 관측효율을 향상시킬 수 있는데 많은 도움이 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 개발한 SATA HDD 무결성 확인 시스템의 설계, 구성, 시험 등에 대해 자세히 기술한다.
